That's a pretty good idea! Some people with too much money but massive quantities of large spacecraft, while owning palaces. Maybe guys should start a committee for this, or maybe contract the engineering corps for this kind of thing, with a new colony management screen, like for Vigil enterprises, imperitrade, Imperial center, etc. I simultaneously want them to be costly to prevent the filthy rich from grabbing every new Capital ship from imperial center, yet want it to be reasonably cheap for me.... Also, the list of controlled systems needs to be updated.
  I propose the following system. Link the colony page to impericare and imperitrade with an option to buy real estate, businesses, infrastructure, and land ( natural resource zones ) Maybe even form a new player owned corporation for this, and trade it.  Divisions can buy bases for a cost, like shipyards, bunkers, and supply depots. Real estate can be invested in, while one can buy multiple houses, on different player controlled worlds. Costly, yet effective terraforming would also be fun.            Owning worlds could work like this....
( let the prices be calibrated by the enterprising dude who starts the planetary realty corporation )
Barren asteroids in crappy positions: cheap enough for a trainee
Barren asteroids in good locations:  may be financed by PPC
Larger asteroids in crappy locations: slightly more
Larger asteroids in good locations: even slightly more
Mobile comet: decent price
Small, rocky planetoids with no atmosphere : reasonable price
Coruscant sized worlds too close or too far from stars: expensive
Icy, desert, or volcanic planets ( hoth, tatooine, mustafar) pretty expensive
Gas giants ( rings extra ) pretty expensive
Low grade habitable world with either very little or gargantuan quantities of life ( dantooine, dagobah )
Terran world : Very expensive
Paradise world ( Alderran like ) : Prohibitively expensive
Whole system : For people like Kadaan, and people like Kadann only.
Stellar anomalies like black holes may cost extra.
Note; Imperial planatery realty does not sell worlds with sentient species on it, as that would be kind of like slavery. Exceptions will be made to customers that wish to designate their planet as nature preserves, and that only.

I don't know. Maybe someone with a lot of spare time might implement this.



Once you have a world, or a bit of one, you would sub-divide it into various estates of various usages. No, you don't get lightsaber crystals, mandalorian iron, cortorsis, sith holocrons, etc. But, minerals, tibanna gas, and farming are fine.
  Prices will be set by someone with a better knowledge of economy than me.

    repulsorlift cities, stratablocks, industrial sprawl, spaceports, skyhooks
For da rich
  Cloud city sort of things, large( and I mean large ) cities, big complexes, space stations, and shipyards

              Military
cheap: Basic supply depots, small bunker, AA net, landing fields, barracks, watchtowers
moderate: light bases, bigger depots, big bunkers, ion and turbolaser cannons, airbases
average: shield generators, surface to space weapons, magnapulse cannons, CARDAN space stations ( wookiepedia it ), golan platforms, big bases, large hangars, shipyards
expensive: Deep planet shelters, big shields, big surface to space guns, bigger CARDANs, bigger golans, bigger shipyards, citadels, etc
For da rich: Massive space stations, fortress world level defenses, KDY size shipyards, among others
  Of course, you can't build a stratablcok on an asteroid, or a citadel on a gas giant, but you get the idea. I'm poor, and constrained ( school started ) but someone with a lot of time, making this a system with a commitiee and corporation, would be appreciated by many.

I agree, very nice idea Bernie, great details.

Its at times like this that I feel bad that I don't have the skills necessary to help with a project like this.

I'm not too sure about this...While it does sound like a cool idea, maybe try and bring out a more fleshed out proposal. Also note that both Army and Navy have 2 different payscale systems  and so while Crewmans may receive a few Credits while in Training, Privates do not and such like.

We must also think that implementing this kind of a system will take a while; and we would also need to set limitations and such like

Even a useless world will not be affordable to a trainee.

An Empire selling planets and military? Thats funny.

Pieces of land can be sold, but whole planets, and asteroids? Thats an oxymoron for the VE.

Kadann doesnt buy systems. He conquers them.

The amount of thought you've put into this is great, but I would rather have the effort put into pulling a system this up to be used elsewhere like recruiting. We cant have fancy systems if no one uses it.
And who knows, maybe with SWTOR all of this will become optional?


If we do however want to start something like this, we will have to develop a system or whatever in the Unknown Regions, wont make sense otherwise.

Anycase, Im just sucking BS from my thumb.

I would agree with Ae on this one. Pieces of  land are feasible, planets and whole systems are made to be conquered but the idea could be a little more realistic if you were to propose something to add to Impericare and the like?

I'm not even active that much, but maybe the guys who created Imperial Center could be contracted in. Even If I am the creator of the idea, anyone that implements it will deserve a lot more credit. That, and I don't know how to code... Thanks for your praise, but you guys are right, our priority is getting people on the site, not doing crazy things that put them off.
