I take umbrage with TOR writers on this mainly because a culture has foundational worldviews that make up the way they see things. The dark side is the basis for the sith, light side for the Jedi. If you have a Darkside 'jedi' they would be cast out of their society, same with a lightside sith. They are inherently contradictory. I thought Lucas made it obvious that dark is evil and light good. I will grant that you can have a good sith or bad Jedi, but they will eventually gravitate toward the dark or light based on actions. In the end they will turn away from the worldviews and ethics of their culture and therebye the culture itself... If not to the other side, at least away from their previous one. Because for the Jedi and the Sith their views of the force is their culture. Good read though, nice find valthir. Very interesting. I actually see a lot of parallels there to what we do here in the VE. After all, while we have our Imperial share of obnoxious, high-handed traditional imperial types, we also run the gamut all the way to characters that are in no way cruel at all- who, aside from thinking the New Republic is crazy, are very much more like the stereotypical Rebel than anything else.
