I have a not so series and a rather more serious question about the specializations system. Not so serious:  Is it possible for me to choose Super Roving Utility Man as my specialization since there really isn't much my character can't do(my character is nearly fifty for goodness sake)? More serious:  How about a marine specialization(a trooper trained to sieze/defend starships)?

As I've insufferably endured a misunderstanding with a few people for months at a time, I will poke another fork in myself to state the following: Specializations are what you want your character to do best.  No one is great at everything.  A few examples of people with lots of talent and genius with critical flaws in action/judgement: Einstein:  couldn't drive to save his life plus had this tendency to scare the hell out of the FBI Hawking:  can't walk Napoleon: that pesky need to attack Russia for no discernible reason Patton:  the inability to stop for trains Alvin York: only captured a butt load of Germans once Earhart: good distance flyer, just horrible at calculating mileage Alexander of Macedon:  drank a lot when he should have been resting and recovering from an illness Socrates:  extreme reaction to hemlock Capone: just where do you think he contracted syphillus? I'm sure everyone can add a few examples to the list. Concerning for the ship boarding capabilities.  It is established canon that the standard, run-of-the-mill stormtrooper can do this.  Your post reminds me of an email and a IRC chat that advised me to throw that into the basic stormie training.  With this third reminder, I will definitely try to keep that in short term memory long enough to add that to that specialty. Oops.
