I know there's been a lot going on lately, and some folks are out on leave, but let's keep up the posting, everybody who's here! 

Since folks seem reluctant to continue before there's an explicit post about the NPC squadrons, I'll go ahead and whip one up - let's turn the tide against these low-life pirates!

If folks could check their own stats to make sure they're correct... the story's been running long enough that mistakes have become more likely than not. 

My tendency to mess up basic arithmetic aside, these numbers are great, folks; let's keep posting - high quality, high quantity, and high frequency - as the Battle of Coveway starts to wrap up!  This list will be kept up-to-date as people add to the story, and will likely be referenced by commanders when it comes time to hand out shinies when the story ends...

Everyone, I second what StOrMz said in the Second Fleet discussion thread: great work, especially for summertime. 

And, since we've been talking about using these discussion threads more, I thought I'd give a preview of my thoughts/ideas/desires for the ending of Snatch and Grab here.  Obviously, these aren't orders or anything: they're merely jumping off points for OOC discussion.

1.  The Defiance, Reaper, Dunny, anyone from Regents who can get over to our side of the Asteroid in time, and the few survivors of Reprisal squadron are going to finish off the B-wings (ASAP - this beat of the story has lasted long enough.  Whether we kill them or force a retreat, I feel we can do it sooner rather than later).  Then, these elements of the Task Force (the "Second Group" from the briefing) will detain as many of the scrambling pirate freighters/Bacta transports as possible... Now, a lot more of these ships will escape than we anticipated, since the pirates were stronger than Intel indicated, AND since they had New Republic help, but this is a chance for Second Group members to stretch their imaginations: you get to describe and name independent smuggling craft.  This is one of the coolest bits of Star Wars (think Millennium Falcon), so have fun writing posts where you successfully detain such vessels (by force or by threat of force), or where you fail to detain them, but get an ID our forces can use to track them down later.

2.  The Main Group should similarly mop up the pirates.  While they were stronger than anticipated, they're still rabble; let's finish 'em.  Main Group folks have more flexibility, it would seem since there're more things to do on that side of the battle: pilots can end pirates or buzz Bacta freighters to prevent them from escaping, while the capital ships should focus on getting boots on the ground in the Asteroid base.  Defiance has softened up the ground forces: while there will undoubtedly be armed foes waiting for the boarding parties, most of the heavy stuff should be destroyed.  Remember: the mission was to secure the stolen Bacta supplies and end the pirate threat, and now that we've uncovered a NR connection, ground teams/boarding parties should also be on the look out for usable intelligence.

The Battle of Coveway's winding down, true enough, but it's also getting really exciting, from a writer/role-player's perspective: we get to write types of scenes we don't normally (boarding actions, stopping smuggler ships, securing intelligence), and we get to stretch our imaginations and start developing our characters more in an official story setting (naming pirate ships, inventing clues for the Intel people to figure out, describing why our personal characters care - or don't - about recovering all this Bacta, especially after the Battle for Belgaroth).  Let's keep activity high as we bring this tale to a close.  The statistics for the story are incredibly impressive... remember that your cumulative activity over the life of a story gets awarded at the end - shinies/promos inbound!

Wow. I don't know how I missed that. Well, I guess I can't be Echenator anymore.

Come on folks!  Home stretch!  Snatch and Grab ends on Friday, so let's see one last post from everyone involved!  Remember, shinies come at the end! 

Snatch and Grab has officially ended, and though it didn't get wrapped  up neatly IC, OOC it was an unquestionable success!
