Anywho...assuming, from what you said, that some or all of us will be allowed to fly those at some point...can I ask just one thing? If we're in a Warden, can we trade out some cargo space for some guns? Seriously, if I was flying one stock and ran into the Millenium Falcon somewhere, I'd be the one running away. Plus I'm really not sure what 16 people are doing on that crate with only one pair of guns going.
The Guardian cruisers...those're nice little ships.

Each Warden class Lt. Cruiser in participation within any Vast Empire Fleet will now be outfitted with two concussion missile launcher tubes, 4 missiles each. This will now be the the standard outfitting for those cruisers, ideally, the same standard the VEN has with outfitting any TIE's with shields. Hey, all. I'm helping with the Capital Ship Training Program, and in my research I've stumbled on an alternate deck layout for Guardians/Wardens. The particular layout depicted may not be perfect for the VE, but it gives a very nice sense of scale and interior flow. So, I really can't seem to find my research notes for the past week, which means I'm unable to properly credit the original source of the Guardian/Warden blueprints. With that said, there seems to be an interest in them, and I've found them very useful, so I want to share them here on the ComNet. In an effort to escape any unintentional plagiarism or (Emperor-forbid) legal conflagrations, I've gone ahead and modified the layout considerably. The modified images should suit the VE's purposes better than the originals anyway, and are hopefully different enough from the found materials to curtail any ire of the original creator. To be clear: "I claim no credit for generating these images, and I have rearranged some of the content for my own purposes, and will not earn any money by posting them here; thank you to the original artist, whose identity was lost due to a computer virus." -Trick  Things I like about this layout: these images are to scale (about 35 pixels = a meter), and give an impression of just how big these "little ships" are; there is room on board for mission-specific tasks, including a courtroom for summary justice, ample quarters for guests, prisoners, and a marine detachment for boarding actions; the cockpit shown in exterior shots of the class is represented in the deck layout (although it appears to only be accessible via lift, there is a hidden emergency ladder). Things I prefer about Slasher's layout: the flow of the command center and watch officer areas is very nice; the inclusion of stairways seems inspired, compared to a system of two elevators servicing a vessel which only has 3.5 decks. Those images rock, Trykon. Good work finding and editing them. My main suggestion is to extend the length of the bridge deck- the outside images we have aren't really detailed enough to tell the difference anyway, and the as-is bridge deck has no Weapons station(s). Otherwise, those seem just about perfect to me.
Edit: Now I see the weapons/deflector control areas you detailed on the other deck. Still, the weapons officer(s) should be in direct contact with the SCAP. Perhaps switching weapons with Sensors or giving a section of the Weapons room to Sensors and moving the Chief Gunner up to the bridge?

If you can believe it, the original cockpit only had two chairs - I had to add two more! But, yes, a couple more positions might make sense, and extending the bridge area shouldn't break the canon exterior images too badly. That particular photoshop project will be a long time in coming, though - I've got my hands full with more pressing stuff. I like that the CO or Watch Officer doesn't get a Star Trek-style central chair, yes. If he/she is on the command deck, he/she should be at a functional station (there're only 16 people aboard, after all), or possibly standing, as on the bridge of a Star Destroyer. But, yes, I think the Weapons coordinator needs to be in the physical presence of the command crew, so lengthening the cockpit deck a bit seems like a good option, to accommodate a couple more positions. That leads me to another thought: obviously, with a standard crew of 16, not every room aboard is going to be used simultaneously, nor will all the bridge positions need to be occupied at all times. Ok, here is the image Trykon put up, with my initial changes to it, it is still a work in progress, but figured I'd open up to suggestions from other people:  The following changes were made: Deck A: Addition of a fifth position on the bridge, it is very cramped now, but would actually see use on a ship in combat, it is located directly behind the Astrogation and Helm positions, and would be used for the commander when the ship is in combat in case he needs to reroute weapons or something similar through the bridge in the event of casualties or damage preventing parts of the ship being manned. Deck B: No major changes yet PLANNED REMOVAL/CHANGES: -Galley changed to more extensive armory -One of the crew quarters (one nearest the galley, opposite side) will be extended to the wall and made into training room for additional onboard training, as well as computer access. -Customs: Is being kept, but may be compacted and moved to a different location. Not sure yet Deck C: -Computer access area: Additional section added forward, becomes missile launchers and missile racks, the computer stations off the main room changed and become laser turrets. -Chair added to Weapons control, to allow all three gunners to work in there when not needed in the turrets themselves. Image is a little small for me to make out clearly, but I like all the changes you mentioned in principle. Also: since I have the original .psd on my machine, I can probably edit this bad boy more easily than you can, if you'd prefer to just give me a list of changes to make rather than working yourself from a flat image base. Lemme know.
