Ok, the first thing that I want to do is apologize for tearing back in here and then flying off again. I imagined myself having the time this week to do stuff, then some medical issues came up with my wife, and then with one of our cats - he had to have surgery to remove, ahem, his remaining male parts, due to urinary blockage. Long story. So with waiting for him to come home and waiting for test results, and on top of work schedules, the week has been a little rough in the Den household. I would seriously just get home and have the last thing I want to do be posting a looong explanation of what's going to be going on. But this is long overdue.


So here it is. The first thing that I'm going to do is take complete command of the Navy to myself. I've given Kadann the heads up on this plan, and he agrees that it's the smart way to go.

There has been too much question of command lately, and for that I take all blame. I should not have disappeared and left the Navy in the state that it was in. It's going to be a detailed process to fix, but the major beginning changes need to happen as quickly as possible. So with that I'm going to temporarily remove the position of Master at Arms. It will not be long, and it may come back as a different position with more detail in it description. The second is I'm going to disband the Naval Advisory Committee. I will certainly still take the opinions of my commanders into consideration, but it's become very obvious to me that the senatorial style of leadership just isn't possible at the moment. I will also be keeping the position of Naval Executive Officer vacant for the time being. I will be using all of the commanders to fill those duties where I see fit, using their specific abilities where they can best be used. I will be keeping Jaden as Wing Commander however, because he is not officially a part of the High Command, and he is the pulse of the Wing.

Of course, I have never been overly involved in the inner workings of the Academy, and I don't plan to change that. So I'm leaving Stormz in that position. I do not wish to jostle around too much of the training process until we can fix the daily workings of the Navy itself.

Next, I know that there was a lot of hooplah over the sudden promotions given out to those with long service, etc. I cannot renege on these completely, because I did approve the initial proposal. What I approved was different from what was actually executed, so I am going to back track a little on those. I've got a link to the spreadsheet of what Shazam and Willtconq had put together to calculate who got what promotion, and I want to give credit where credit is due. This was a completely original idea and layout done by the two of them. So here it is:

What was executed was the "Final Rank" Column, and what I approved for execution initially was the "New Rank" Column. So as you can see, there is a drastic difference in some of the ranks, including my own. Know that. I'm not going to be leaving myself as a full Admiral. My rank is changing in all of this as well. I will be changing those over the next couple of days, so watch for those changes. Note however, that if the "New Rank" is lesser than that of the "Old Rank", it will not change. We rewarded your service by giving you a rank, I will not renege on that. You shouldn't be punished for not doing anything punishable.

As for Shazam's "Old switcharoo" - none of that is going to be executed. It was never approved by me, and because of his over zealousness, his rank will return to what it was before the promotions were handed out. I had informed all of my command staff when I went on leave that while they were in command, all changes needed to be run by me, and this "switcharoo" was never run past me. His implementation of this is being considered an act of insubordination and he is paying the consequences of it. Hence, his return to the rank of Commodore.

Be aware that there are other accusations that will be handled once things calm down a little. There is a lot to handle for that, and Kadann and Talon need to get involved for that to occur. If these concern you, I will inform you when the actions begin.

My first and foremost concern here is the welfare of the Navy and all of you in it. So I plan on using the resources that are available in my counterparts in the Army. I have been friends with General Rizzit my entire time here, so I will approach him to not only rejuvenate the relations between the Navy and the Army, but to see if he and his command staff can also give us some advice. I have never been one to not seek out assistance when it is needed.

I know that I have not mentioned anything about Ghost Fleet, as that is a whole different monster that will need to be tackled a little later.

Other than all of this, the Navy is business as usual please. Post on your squadron topics, post on your squadron stories and personal stories. Get on IRC when possible, and converse with your friends, and your compatriots.

I am wondering on the state of Ghost Fleet as well... things seemed to die off once Shaz decided to take the Reigns with his ordeal. An update would be nice, Ibram.
