I've never heard of the "Space Warlock Society" but I was just thinking that it would be an interesting idea to have a "secret agent" branch of the VE, that could be handled similarly to osk or the djo.

There's a reason you have never heard of the Space Warlocks society, its because they are never active. It sort of comes with the territory of making a new branch in the VE.

You also have to look at the logistics of the whole endeavour. Firstly, Who would be running it? someone with enough experiance and who also held the confidences of the higher ups. Something like three or four people. You also can't just go around making new branches all willy-nilly. It takes away from the elitism of the other branches. People like Jegora and myself have to feel special somehow, after all. Jegora more so as he is in both branches.

Then you get questions like why exactly would it exist? what would the missions be? how would it be structured? How many people would be let in? What would the requirements of entry be? Where would it fit in the fractured canon of the VE universe?

Take Osk. It was founded by one of the most liked guys here, it started (at least) with structure, some goals and some fairly solid ideas. It slips into its own little bubble of canon that only grazes with the VE's. It's also barely active 2/3rds of the time.

So. In closing, Space warlock society ain't got s**t on the Society of space warlocks. SoSW REPRESENT!

The VE does, it's just an NPC branch.  There's no real reason to have the VE Intelligence active as a full division since there's not as many opportunities to write as elsewhere.  If folks want to write as one of the other divisions (outside of the Army, Navy, DJO [aka Space Warlocks], Osk, ICS, HC), nothing is stopping them from using the Neutral Storynet, writing as alternate characters (re: sorta PC controlled NPCs).  Doing that, you could easily be ISB agents, or something similar.

Before we open up any other "branches" in the VE it would be nice to have some stability in the ones we have.

Historically the concept of a VE Intel group has led to needy, greedy people ganging up and being right bastards to others.

It's petty, unnecessary, and has in the past led to a lot of bad blood.

So, without a lot of details or finger-pointing, there ya go.

Yeah the navy ran on the concept of the Vast Empire Intelligence agents, but that was short lived.
