Well I'll put my vote in for Spain as I think they deserve to win.

Well, after a ... dissapointing final... I think that referee's, throughout the tournament have been fairly abysmal. I mean, dissallowed goals, dissallowed penalties, ignored goals, ignored penalties, intercepting the ball etc. from the best referees in the world every game.

Basically; never mind goal technology. Do everything by video. Then if it wasn't a foul, give the wrongly accused team the free kick. Because diving is a foul. And if there was a foul, give it to them. Remove human referees because they do not work. At all.

That was a very, very poor final. Boring and too controlled by the ref (though the Dutch played way too aggressively). At the end of the day the better team won the Cup. Both teams had been virutally unbeaten (Spain lost to Switzerland in the group stages) for two years but Spain were the better team yesterday. Still, I have to sympathize with the Dutch. They've been to THREE of the twenty world cup finals and still NOTHING to show for it. That's painful.

I agree with Jamasis, too. The reffin was absolutely horrific for the World Cup. I cannot believe all the bad calls being made and all the cards being handed out. Ten minutes left in the final and a red card is given? That's not right to me. I hope there's some serious inquest into the reffing system from FIFA. They claim to love the controversy that human judgement brings about, but I wouldn't understand why they would want a repeat of this cup's reffing.

Overall: great cup to watch, albeit frustratingly controlled by the reffing at times, but what an awful Final.

Well, its the world cup final, and nothing showcases the appalling standards of the world cup more than red cards in the final. So, he is told not to give reds.

'Course now the world cup is rubbish. I don't think you can claim the spanish should have had that chance. I mean, what about the Netherlands free kick? Or even the corner? Both under a minute before the spanish goal, and both not given. (I mean the free kick they should have been given about twenty seconds before spain scored). And Spain were pretty rubbish. Throughout the tournament. They would have been out either in the groups or to Portugal, except Casillas is exceptional and the referees are appalling. I mean, how do you beat a team that you can't score against? Eventually they have to score; even if it takes them two hours.
