Aeos

She failed miserably at hiding the expression of delight and surprise on her face.  A warm hand rested on the small of the back as he walked her to the table where they would be having dinner.  She yelped in surprised shock as the hand suddenly snaked around her waist completely and yanked her back and closer to him. His cheek rested on her shoulder as he spoke to her. Soft whispers of summer rain and winter sun.  The scruffy yet intoxicating smell that emanated from him drowned her senses to pure bliss. He rubbed his cheek against her, tickling and teasing her face with the rough texture his five-o-clock shadow produced. She tried to push away in mock but he tumbled her around in his arms and laughed against her lips with her. Her fingers pushed through his unruly golden hair and pulled him closer to her. She didn’t want to lose this.

“I don’t think this is a good idea Aeos.”

A muted bang boomed as Havock took aim.
“Nice shot Aymee.”

“Don’t ignore what I’m saying Aeos. Something is off with that guy.”

It was her turn to take aim. She tried to ignore Havock’s voice through the earphone clamped across her head. Damn Academy protocol. The target shattered into pieces before pixelating away. Somewhere a virtual circuit was restructuring her target again and again and each time reloading it onto the holographic platform in front of them.

“And you base your whole opinion and instinct on this one time you’ve seen him.”
Aeos turned around to Havock exasperated at the younger woman’s nosiness into business that was not her own.  Havock peeled her focus off the virtual target in front of her and met with Aeos’ icy stare.
“Don’t give me that look. Aeos. He’s dangerous.”

She bit her lip, not trying to say anything more. Memories of that night came flooding back to her. It chilled her to the bone.

“Where you going?”

“For a walk!”

“Take a scarf!”

“You’re not my mom!” Havock yelled back at her partner. She grabbed the scarf in anyhow knowing Jae’s inept ability to sense lies and deceit would just go buzzing again if she ignored the scarf.
She pushed a blond bang away from her face and wrapped the scarf around her neck while stumbling into the cold autumn wind that usually appeared in Siat this time of the day.

She set herself a brisk pace while taking the time to observe the setting and environment around her. It was hard to believe that this planet was the Imperial Head Quarters for the Army for the entire Imperial Army. Life here seemed so frivolous and far-removed from the horrors outthere.

She noted with surprise that she had ended up in one of the public parks and shook her head.
“Way to get distracted Aymee.” She muttered to herself with a small grin that played at the corners of her mouth. The wind picked up again and for a minute Havock fought a fierce battle with the wind over the ownership of her lose hair. She rushed to one of the benches with an overhead shelter and tried to salvage something from her hair while keeping her eyes on the environment around her.  She steeled her face at the sight of a young woman who was giving a small boy of no more than four a soft maternal kiss on his bruises kneecap. The mother’s lips moved, whispering false promises of magic to the boy and Havock glanced away scornfully.  Much to her dismay only to encounter an image she had never thought she would bear witness to.

“Aeos?” she whispered with a perplexed frown across her face.

Just a few meters away stood Aeos.  A short yet slender woman who was nearing her mid-twenties and already had managed to reach senior positions within the Army which made it some much more perplexing that she was embracing an individual who seemed no better than the scoundrels Havock arrested from time to time.

She shuddered as she studied the gangly man’s face. Angelic features stained by a hard life of surviving on the streets. He twirled Aeos around into his arm raising bubbling laughter from Aeos.
Havock frowned again.

This could not be good.  She didn’t know her friend to be prone to impulsive relaxation with men. She didn’t recognize Aeos’ willing demeanor to be associating with an individual such as the man with her from a lower social and professional stand.
Something was off.

“Who the frak do you think you are Havock? I recall a time not too long ago when I stated specifically that we are just comrades. Nothing more. You are not my friend. You are not in the position to be making judgment calls.”

“Get over yourself Aeos. I’m doing you the favour everyone else is too effing scared to do with you. I’m telling you the truth. Wake up and smell the coffee. That guy is trouble. Not just for you, but people close to you.”  Havock shot back.

They stood almost nose to nose with each other. It had been months since that fateful autumn day Havock first caught a glimpse at Zek.  The friendship between the two women had deteriorated rapidly since then. Aeos didn’t entertain the infringement and rejection Havock imposed on the relationship while Havock didn’t allow such a dangerous chemistry to frying in Aeos’ head and heart.

Her footsteps rambled loudly as the heels of her boots clicked heart to heart on the beat along the stone-paved road cutting across the lustrous park of weeping fauna and blossoming flora. Her face was a small oval thundercloud of frustration. Across the distance she noted a very familiar frame sillohoutted into the early morning fog against the rising sun. Aeos swore softly when she recognized the cause of her current tantrum. She stormed forward and yanked the blond woman by the collar and pushed her against the tree.

“I will say this for a last time Havock. Stay the fuck out of my business.”

She released the woman in her strong grip violently and stormed away while the woman she had just yelled at stared at her with a furious and shocked expression as she massaged her throat.

“I’m not ‘Havock’ idiot. “

Aryana 'Whiskey' Graves stared at the back of the strange blond woman who had just assaulted her, making her walk in the park certainly more interesting than usual. That was the second, maybe even the third time she had been called 'Havock'. She was starting to wonder if she appeared to cause chaos, which was the very thing she sought to avoid in her life.

The park had always been a nice place for her to relax between missions, while also honing her people watching skills. Whiskey worked out, but it wasn't her favorite activity. Reading had always held that spot. She read anything and everything she could get her hands on, she had always felt that it was a work out for her brain. The datapad in her hand held a particularly good holonovel about a battle from the point of view of a peasant woman stuck in the middle of the battle. Her nose was so far into the book she totally didn't even notice the tattooed man blocking her path, until she had ran right into him.

"Oi, watch it, ya?"

Whiskey snapped her head up, and was going to mutter some kind of apology and go on about her day. Then the figure of a small woman appeared on the other side of the man, the same woman who had thrown her against a tree not too long ago. They were looking at each other, both staring daggers at the other.

"You two wanna be alone?" Both women turned to the man. Whiskey had grown tired of this game and the clearly insane woman playing it with her.

"I'm sorry, excuse me." She went to move around the couple but the slightly shorter blond woman couldn't seem to control her tongue.

"Are you serious? You're just going to leave?"

Whiskey threw her hands up in frustration. She yanked off her jacket ignoring the cold, and rolled up her sleeves slightly. "Okay, you have officially gotten on my nerves. If you won't shut up, I'll make you shut up."

Their noses were almost touching and Whiskey would have punched the lady if a tattooed hand didn't suddenly reach out and grab her wrist, he yanked it without a care for human anatomy and examined the mark on her wrist. "Would you like a picture? It'll last longer."

Now even Aeos had a perplexed expression. She didn't put it past Havock to follow her deeper into the park, or even to flat out confront the man she seemed to have nothing but issues with, but to leave her tattoo uncovered. That was not like Havock at all, she didn't even seemed bothered by the one thing even Jae had trouble getting her to talk about.

"It can't be." Whiskey yanked her hand back and turned. She snatched the jacket from the ground where she left it and stomped off leaving the two nut jobs to themselves in the park.

"What was her name?"

Aeos shrugged. "That's Havock, but she's acting so strange."

"No, not her call sign, what's her name?"

She scratched her head still watching the retreating form of her friend. "Ayme, but if you call her that she'll beat you." The last syllable dropped off as the man turned suddenly and ran more than walked back towards his quarters.

-------------------------------------

"She yelled at you? You want me to kick her ass?" Jaenna looked way to hopeful with the last sentence as she munched on her toast. They had just finished sparring after Havock left Aeos in the park and decided to get some food in the army cafeteria.

Havock rolled her eyes. "No ones kicking anyone's ass, Jae. I'm just worried about her, that guy just...it's strange, its almost like I've seen him in nightmares or something. I don't know, I just don't like him."

"You worry too much babe."

She shook her head and tapped her toast against the plate. "Yea I guess." She looked up at Jaenna who was stuffing her face. "What would I do without you?"

Jae laughed and took a big sip from her juice glass. "You would have gotten your impulsive ass killed for one, not to mention how boring your life would have been up until that point."

They both laughed. "Right, I always seem to forget. Silly me."

Havock's comlink blinked a message, which forced her to regretfully leave the fun she was having to read it. Her face must have reflected the disappointment, Jaenna tapped her plate to get the blue eyed girls attention. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know, its a meeting of some kind. Its strange though, I shouldn't be needed at a command meeting for a few more days yet."

"Could be something bad."

Havock tossed the comlink back to the table and rubbed her forehead. "If they are calling me in on such short notice it is bad."

-----------------------------------------

She barely had enough time to change out of her workout clothes and rinse in the shower before she jogged into the small conference room as she was told to do in the message. Havock nearly tumbled through the doors only to find an empty room, save one person. She was faced away from her, she kept her hands in her pockets as she stared out the window.

Havock looked around the room trying to find the other missing commanders, and finally gave up. "Do you know whats going on?"

The woman shook her head. "No, and frankly today has already been one hell of a day. I could have used the afternoon...off." The last word trailed as she had turned to look at the woman who entered. They both stared oddly at each other, which wasn't a surprise, they had the same face.

Havock's fists balled up and she took several steps closing the distance between them. "Who are you? What are you?"

Whiskey's eyes searched and examined the very pissed off woman in front of her. It can't be, it fucking can't be. She remembered, the rain. The rain always haunted her nightmares of that night, the night her sister died. She hadn't spoken her sisters name since that night, hell she didn't speak at all for almost ten years after that night. "Ayme?"

Havock took three long steps backwards and almost tripped over one of the chairs rolled up to the conference table. Looking like her was one thing, but this person knew her name, how was that even possible?

"Holy shit, you are Ayme." Whiskey took a giant step forward. "They call you Havock don't they. Oh my god, it all makes sense now."

"I'm so very happy for you. I still don't know what in the hell is going on." She growled.

Whiskey took a long breath. "You don't remember me? Aryana. You're Ayme and I'm Aryana." Havock shook her head slightly in a negative motion as she gripped two of the chairs. "We are sisters, our parents had to get away from the Black Sun but they caught us. The night they brought us in you got shot...protecting me. You hit your head, they told me that you died. You're my little sister."

Havock stared at her, this woman was her....sister. Her brain could not even begin to process that. She didn't remember anything about her family, nothing. And now she walks into this conference room and finds the one person who could answer all her questions. "Wait, why are we the only ones here?"

They ran for the door which was sealed and locked. Only now did they both realize that this was also one of the many conference rooms that sealed air tight which was just a tad too convenient. They felt the effects of whatever they were using to subdue them before either of them saw anything. Havock hit the ground but didn't lose her grip on the hazy world just yet. The door opened and she saw him, the guy she saw Aeos with. He was smiling. Then the world went black.

The wind wept tristfully along with crying sky above fogged in a grey haze of clouds and hidden lighting.

The Agent caressed his chin more out of habit then responding to some physical need, besides it enhanced a sense of elegant pondering, something he was not always capable of. His charisma made up more than it was needed however.

He unclipped the umbrella from his belt and shot it wide for protection from the rain.

Such a shit place to buy property. he mused to himself. He stole another impatient glance to his watch. She was late and she was wasting his time. But if he could sell this baby it would be one house ticked off from his list. A house, no a manor that had been stuck on his list since he started this business decades ago.

A soft vibration caught his attention through the rain and from the fog a silhouette of a oncoming hover-car disengaged from the surrounding.

He spat the dying cigarette from his mouth and pulled away from his own hover-cover while stepping on the burning butt in the mud, effectively killing the remaining coles in it.

A feminine shape stepped out without reverting to the use of her umbrella. Her blonde hair, usually a mass of curls and spikes dropped flat against her face as it soaked up the rain, but her sharp blue eyes couldn’t seem more alive at that moment and Garben couldn’t help but appreciate this wild element fighting out from beneath her usually perfect yet stoic appearance of Imperial might.

“Ah, Captain. A pleasure to be meeting at last.”  He walked towards her extending one of his gloved hands which she accepted with ease.

“Indeed. Let’s cut this chit-chat though Garben. Show it to me.” Aeos interrupted.

“Ah. Yes. The Manor.”

He glanced to his right and gestured her to it.

There it stood. A massive building of artistic history and genius design decayed with disuse and derelict dysfunctions such as rotten woods and cracking walls. The Manor displayed itself in a frame of fog and loneliness stressing a disheartening mood from Garben yet Aeos smiled softly at the sight.

“It just needs some fixing.” She muttered softly falling in love with the ancient design again. She had only so far been viewing the house electronically and it was quite unconventional to request a life viewing as electronic viewing allowed the best optimized viewing in virtual reality from the comfort of home, but to Aeos it was not the same.  She grew up in a junkyard. She could only fantasize of this. She spent the first of many years sharing barracks with squad mates and comrades who all died one by one leaving her with the job of cleaning out the locker and bunk only to present it to the next lad. When she moved into her own place after securing a comfortable desk-job she was smothered by the city buzz. For a while she reveled in it and when that was too much she reveled in her job. She finally realized however a few weeks ago that she capable of this financially.

“I want it.” she muttered to Garben.

Now he usually tried to play-up the effect of uncertainty into his clients as to make the social buy more successful, but in this case he was being handed a fool on a silver plate. He whipped out a square datepad-like device from his pocket and held it out to Aeos. The electronic contract could be signed with a simple scan of her index finger. The official signing of the hardcopy could be handled later.

He called just as Aeos scanned her index finger into the screen.

“Hi you.” She greeted perking up at the rough texture of his voice flowing into ear. She shook hands with Garben and waved him off to his car.

“Angel, I’m up to my neck in work, cant this wait?” she stole a final glance at the Manor as she walked to her hover-car very much soaked to her bone in water.

“My work is urgent. That is what is urgent.” Her voice suddenly steeled itself and a glimpse of the usual woman in control flashed through her perky surface.

“This better be good Zeff. I’ll be there in one standard hour.”
The door slammed close and she ordered the coordinates to activate through voice-control.

Something was off. Something irreparably was about to take place in her life and she could sense it down to the last nerve.

***

“You bought me a present?” she whispered in his hug as usually gutted with surprise at this action.

He almost never did anything like this. As unhealthy as it was, their relationship run on infatuation and unbeknownst to Aeos it was a one-sided blade.  They stood in one of the private Hangar bays kept in the capital.  And at the centre his ship.

He pulled away from her and framed her face with his couloused hands.

“Yep, it’s in the cargo bay. A bit big, so I’m gonna need to drag your ass over there. “

There was a dangerous quality to his voice which she always previously found to be appealing but now it unsettled her. Her hand settled on her hip, not too far from her DC-15 while she cocked her head at him in a feigned mask of cute ignorance. She might be infatuated but the battle instincts instilled into her over a decade previous were still fully functional.

He steered her up the ramp with a crooked grin. She grinned back but there was a growing tinge of unease crawling and snaking up her spine.

“Ladies first.”

Hesitantly she entered first knowing this would be a mistake. She took a few hesitant steps into the one narrow corridor.

“Wha-

A sudden and sharp stabbing blow to her neck then eased everything away including her consciousness.

"What is she doing here?"

Havock rubbed her very sore head and tried to look around what appeared to be a blurry cargo room. She sat up slowly which just made the horrible pain in her skull flare up even more. Whiskey just continued to complain about someone else who had apparently pissed her off earlier in the day. She could see the prone figure near the door but her eyes still hadn't focused properly.

"Ary, tone it down a bit, yea?" She rubbed the bridge of her nose. The room got suddenly very quiet, the only sound was the distant hum of the hyperdrive. Great we are in hyperspace, where the hell is that psycho taking us.

Her eyes were finally back to normal, she looked over to see Whiskey staring at her with an odd expression. "What?"

"You called me Ary."

Havock shrugged, "so."

"Would you two please keep it down, my head is killing me."

Havock snapped her head back to the prone woman on the floor. "Ae?" She got up quickly, possibly too quick given the wave of pain and dizziness that slammed into her. "You okay? What are you doing here?"

"You know the crazy woman? Of course you do, that's why she kept calling me 'Havock'." Aryanna shook her head and looked at the various crates in the small room they had been locked into.

"Hav?" Aeos looked up at the blond woman crouched over her, then blinked and looked past her to the other blond woman and immediately grabbed for her pistol that was no longer there. She shuffled away from both of them quickly banging into the wall behind her.

"Whoa, Ae, relax. Its okay. I'm Hav, that's Aryanna. She says she's my sister, based on her appearance I'm inclined to believe her."

"You are my sister Ayme, geeze still stubborn as hell I see."

"Speak for yourself, Ary."

Aeos waved her hands. "Okay...what?"

Havock scratched her head trying to think of a way to explain. "Her story makes sense Ae. I can't remember but I think she's telling the truth, she has a service record and her bio-scan was clean."

"You bio-scaned ME." Whiskey yelled and stood up, her face turning red.

"No, someone bio-scanned you before they made you ARC lead. It's in your file."

Aryanna stomped over to stand between the two women. "That's impossible, I'm aware that your a squad leader, but you wouldn't have access to my personnel file because I'm ARC lead."

"You would be right. But I'm a squad leader who's dating a slicer. Big difference."

Aryanna crossed her arms. "You're dating someone?"

"Seriously, could you two try to stay on topic?" Aeos was more relaxed, her hand had stopped gripping her pistol holster for the time being at least. "Now I can see we are on a ship, and I vaguely remember being knocked out, you two...maybe I'll figure out when my head stops hurting."

"Yea but why the three of us? What do we have in common?" Havock looked from one face to another, both seemed equally unsure of the reason for their abduction.

Whiskey was silent, her eyes were staring at Aeos with the oddest expression. "You know, I didn't really look at you before, but...damn...I would almost swear..."

Both women looked up from where they were sitting to gaze at Whiskey as she leaned against a crate and continued to look at Aeos. "What?"

She shook her head and ran a hand through her hair, suddenly wishing she had some kind of brush. "You just look a lot like my mother that's all. Its kinda scary really. If I didn't know any better I'd say you were...no that's impossible." Whiskey got a sudden look of horror on her face. "But that would explain what the three of us have in common."

"I have no clue what you're talking about, but I can assure you both I'm neither of yours mother."

Havock chuckled.

"No, no. We had an older sister. She died when we were very young. Mom and Dad never talked about her, but I found her holo once. Dad freaked when he caught me looking at it. Her name was Zasati...I think."

Aeos suppressed the urge to snicker.

Zasati? What a ridiculous name.

“It means guardian, she…you-“

“Listen….Whiskey. I’m sorry for your loss-“

“No you’re not.” Havock interrupted.

The double stood with fists feisty and ready at her side as she glared at Aeos. Aeos arched her eyebrows amused at the younger woman’s sisterly instinct already seeming to kick in and side with her twin.

“Shutup Aymee” both Whiskey and Aeos shot back.

Aeos held to the wall as she pulled herself up. She couldn’t deal with the image or thought of two Havock clones in the same room.

“Frak, I just want to get out of here.” She moaned turning around to the door and banging her fist against it. She turned back around only to catch clone expressions of disbelief on Havock and Whiskey’s faces.

“I have this rule where I’m allowed to wallow in self-pity for five minutes. If only Ze-“

Suddenly her small-worried world exploded into a reality of hurt and she gasped realizing the man behind this whole mess was none other than Zekk. Havock caught Aeos as she fell back down to the floor on her knees.  She muttered whispers of sympathy and empathy into Aeos’ ears but the latter heard nothing. She pushed Havock away abruptly and clenched her fists to her centre trying to suppress the guttural moan which threatened to spill over into a scream of anger at the betrayal she had just suffered.

Whiskey stood at loss for what was happening in front of her. Havock clenched her fists in anger and frustration.  Aeos’ furious fight to remain independent in such an emotional state was not healthy. And there was nothing she could do right now.

For a few minutes Havock and Whiskey stood around Aeos awkwardly trying to be nonchalant about the Captain’s distress.  Aeos’ haggard breathing wheezed to soft whimpering before silencing out to occasional spasms as she pressed her fists into the floor. Havock finally had enough and bent down to Aeos. She grabbed Aeos’ fists and unclenched the fingers releasing the nails that had started to press and break through the skin of her palms. Aeos nodded and clenched her eyes shot again.

“He will pay.” She muttered through gritted teeth finally regaining control again. Havock frowned again.

“Lets start figuring this mess out.”  Aeos muttered.

Whiskey straightened herself out of this. This was more her ground.

“What we need to establish is the relation between us. Now as established Havock is my twin. Younger twin I need to remind, and you….”

“The name is Aeos.”

“I’m Whiskey.”

The two women shook hands in the brief interruption. With the whole mess they have been dumped in, they had even forgotten basic civility such as introduction.

“But who would want us? As far as I know I don’t have bad blood with anyone.” Aeos muttered darkly.

“Black Sun.” Whiskey murmured. Havock’s face darkened at the name and she clenched her fists.

Aeos forgot momentarily about Zek and glanced at Havok with surprise.

”Havock? How the frak did you get involved with the Black Sun?”
For the first time in their friendship Aeos realized she knew almost nothing about the woman in front of her.

“They got involved with us.” Whiskey answered. She sighed and buried her face into the palm of her one hand.

“We were split up and tattooed with the Black Sun crests onto our wrists.

“Zek has one.” Aeos said instantly recalling the black ink patterns on his left hand. He had assured her it was an activity, a history only from the past.

Bastard

“What about you?”

Aeos coughed violent surprise at this and frowned at Havock.
“What about me?”

“If you are our sis-“

“I am not your-“

“Then you should have it as well seeing as we all were split up.”
Havock and Whiskey beamed at eachother only adding to Aeos’ annoyance even more. They had it all figured out on the assumption of blood-relation between the three of them.
“I don’t have one.”

Whiskey sighed and plopped down to the floor with a frown.
“Damn, beats that theory.”

“Wait. “ Havock said in a cold voice.

Whiskey glanced up bewildered matching Aeos’ expression.
“What?” they asked simultaneously.

“Aeos. You’re left hand. Uncover it.”

Whiskey’s eyes instinctively sought for Aeos’ gloved hand. The older woman retreated away from Havock’s demand.
“Its not a tattoo. “ She said icily turning the left side of her body away from the twins.

“Somehow I doubt it.” Whiskey said her eyes firing up.
Aeos sighed and shrugged.

“Its not a tattoo, nor is it something I’m willing to share.”

“Don’t worry Ar, she’s got sharing issues but she’ll get over it eventually.”

“You sure are not my sister, but you are making one fine job of being an annoying baby sister.” Aeos muttered dryly as she started fishing out her pack of cigarettes.

Havock frowned at this while Whiskey snickered into her hand.

A thick silence settled after this however. A silence Aeos enjoyed thoroughly. The twins as similar as they were in looks had not yet discovered the similarities of their souls and as such had very little to say to one another or it could be that their conversations, thoughts and feelings could travel through the thick blanket of silence. Either way, it kept Aeos happy just savoring the burn of her cigarette in such a tranquil atmosphere despite the circumstances.

Nearly an hour passed like this giving each sister and unrelated individual to sort through their thoughts. Despite their earlier attempt at making sense of this situation they all knew that any attempt to escape know might be futile. Aeos glanced at Havock and Whiskey. And she had a feeling those two had a yearning to know more. And to know more they had to go the distance. As for her, she had no clue why she was here, but by the gods of sith she wasn’t interested in knowing either way. She had a stack of paperwork to finish damn it.

Havock sat on the cold floor trying to make sense of everything that was going on. Today started off as such a normal day. She woke up went to the gym...shit Jae. She closed her eyes and leaned her head back, lightly banging it rhythmically against the wall.

"Are you okay? Nevermind don't tell me. I know that look, you're thinking about Jaenna." Aeos shook her head and went back to staring blankly at the wall.

"Who?" Aryanna had laid her head against a crate in the small room. Apparently part of her planning for their escape involved a nap. They had been in the room for who knows how long, the time passed unchecked as the three women sat silently together.

Aeos chuckled under her breath which prompted Havock to glare at her for a few moments. "Oh Hav, there is no way I'm answering that question for you."

She stared for a few more moments, a small growl escaping her lips before finally turning back to Aryanna. "Jae is my...yanno."

Aryanna raised an eyebrow. "So articulate, they made you. A squad leader?" The glare she got from her sister almost made her jump. "Seriously, what is this guy you're boyfriend or something?"

"Close enough. Just change boyfriend for girlfriend, and it's beyond complicated beyond that so we should probably stop there."

Whiskey chuckled and rolled her eyes then she seemed to become aware of the fact that Ayme was not joking and the color left her cheeks. "I need a drink. Naptime no more talking, I'm done with talking." She turned over slightly and tightly closed her eyes.

Havock shrugged and looked at Aeos. "Was it something I said." She smirked and continued to watch the door. "I'm sorry Ae, I wish it hadn't been him. This is all my fault."

"Why do you think that?"

Aeos finally was looking at Havock. She had started to scratch the Black Sun tattoo on her wrist unaware of the redness she was causing to appear through the black lines. "It's the Black Sun. It has something to do with me, and now Ary I guess." Havock got very serious, she turned and made sure that Aeos was looking at her. "I promise I won't let you get hurt, you shouldn't be here, and that asshole has already hurt you enough."

Aeos looked at her as though she was expecting a punchline, then smiled a bit before she laughed out loud. "You always want to protect everyone, you need to worry about yourself. You get hospitalized walking through the barracks Hav."

Havock didn't laugh she didn't even smile she glanced at the floor before turning to rest her back against the back wall.

Aeos turned to say something more but the door slid open to reveal a slinder man with a very large rifle pointed at the women. "Bonding with the other lassies, babe?"

Ayme jumped up to attack the man but didn't get far. Aeos grabbed her by the shoulders and slammed the younger woman back to the ground. "See what I mean." she muttered to Ayme.

"Get out of here Zekk." She growled to the man, tears were brimming in her eyes but she kept her hands firmly griped on Havocks shoulders.

The man chuckled at her defiance. "Relax babe, just bringing you a snack, we still have a way to go." he pushed a small button that was in his pocket, then sat a box which probably contained several ration bars. "There and now the door back there to the fresher is open, just move those crates there, I'm sure you ladies can handle that." He blew a kiss in Ae's direction before scooting back out the door the clank of the lock was the only sound. In a blur of movement Aeos jumped up, pushing off Hav's shoulders and screamed as she pounded on the closed door over and over again.

“Don’t touch me.”

Havock’s hand retreated instantly away from Aeos who was still trying to bury her face along with her fists into the door.

In the back Whiskey groaned.

“What does a gal have to do for some quiet?” she mumbled pressing one palm against her forehead. Her eyes rested on the awkward scene of a distressed Aeos and Havock in front of her before reverting to something much more pleasant.

“Food!” she chirped and pounced on the tray bolting past Havock.
Aeos turned around and pressed her back against the door and pulled another cigarette out. She held the pack out to Whiskey who waved it off as she unwrapped a ration bar.

“Hold it for me, I want some food in my stomach first.”
Havock stood dumbfounded staring at the two women’s air of nonchalance. Whiskey was chowing away while Aeos was taking a smoke break from a possible emotional breakdown all in the midst of being held captive on some ship going to sithknows where.

“By gods, I thought I had issues.” She mumbled to herself. She kicked an empty box away and took up the space on the floor it had occupied previously.

Another fruitless hour of bickering, silence and lunch was passing with no solution coming by. The cargo bay occasionally jolted to which Aeos kept count. The soft vibration of the ship was intoxicating adding to the effect of boredom which was starting to dull the sense of captivity.

“Wonder where we are.” Whiskey whispered softly as she fingered the wrapper paper of the rationbar.

“We’ve made three jumps so far.”

Whiskey glanced at Aeos surprised.
“You can tell?”

“Aeos is a qualified pilot from the Naval Academy. “ Havock muttered dryly.

“How do you know?”

“I was her squad-leader after all.”

“I’m right here girls, don’t worry about me.”

Havock and Whiskey cringed at Aeos who smirked back at them. She shrugged.

“Besides, I could be wrong. I was a shitty pilot at that. The flyboys would be better attuned to it then I am, but if I had to guess I’d say one jump was made for no particular reason other than to throw off the trial.”

The door against which Aeos was leaned suddenly banged open sending Aeos sprawling over Havock and Whiskey. As the three women were trying to untangle themselves four men filed in all communicating in various types of grunts and mumbled comments. Three of them each grabbed a limb from Aeos, Havock and Whiskey and dragged the three women apart before pinning them from behind.

The remaining individual, a giant twilek cocked his head to the side and grinned stretching the grotesque scar which ran across his face even more. His skin had a faded dull colour, though Aeos suspected it might have been a beautiful green in a previous life. His bare-chest proudly sported the same tattoo Havock had been scratching earlier.

“Your boyfriend wants me to get some numbers off from you gals.” He said as he unclipped a circular disk with a square protrusion on the one side from his belt.

“Right wrists.”  He ordered sharply.

“You can fly to hell.” Whiskey spat as her captor started bending her unwilling arm out from behind her back.

Whiskey and Havock struggled profusely both refusing to display the one similarity they shared with these bastards. Aeos however was easier.

The grey twillek had all the patience as he waited for Whiskey and Havock to clear up their act. After a short few moments of struggles and slaps, the inner wrists were on display. Two Black Sun crests and one barren wrist.  He frowned at Aeos’ blank arm but kept his pose as he neared Havock and Whiskey. Both had furious hate burning in their eyes at the approaching man.
He snorted as he started adjusting the scanner-like device in his hands and held it over their wrists.  From her vantage point, Aeos managed to discern the screen partially visible from behind his muscles back. She frowned. That scanner was picking something up from the tattoos. She was pretty sure of that.  He nodded, expecting the error code which suddenly flashed bright red momentarily.  He turned to Aeos started the scan over her wrist as well.  For a few seconds he stood trying various settings with nothing seeming to be scanned.

Havock and Whiskey both furious and frustrated stopped their own struggles, their attention stuck on Aeos now.
“Other hand.”

Now she started to struggle.
“Remove the glove.”

She whimpered and cursed but within a flash she lost the fight.
The twillek chucked at her futile attempt and leaned closer to her exposed left hand.

“Nasty, who’d want to crucify a sweet thing such as you?” he asked with disinterested as he adjusted the scanner over the grotesque skin deformations of tissues and scars which made the back and palm of Aeos’ hand. Someone had driven a knife through her and left her hanging with her weight dragged her hand through the knife and out leaving her left hand deformed and mangled almost. Metal plating had replaced the bones in her hand, but at the time of the operation Aeos hadn’t had the money for anything more and as such her hand was left in gruesome state.

The scan returned blank as well.

“Is he sure it’s her?”

“Zekk seemed pretty certain when we talked.” The twilek muttered darkly as he tried again.

“Heh, you know if he’s wrong we’re dead as well.” Havock’s captor muttered.

Again an error code flashed and Aeos smirked.

The twillek unsheathed the combat knife from his side and twirled it momentarily.

“All this can be resolved with a blood sample.”

She tried to retreat but whoever held her had a strong grip on her and she bit her as the knife sliced across her arm. The blood dropped in little pools on the small glass plate the twillek held ready.

The same process was repeated with the twins before all three of them were dropped and kicked to ground unceremoniously.

“Don’t damage the goods too much boys. I need to check this blood with Zekk’s samples. We should be there in a few short hours’ girls. Enjoy it. ”

The door shut close leaving the twins and Aeos in stunned silence.
“What the fuck was that about?” Whiskey gasped.

Havock glared at the closed door. She really had no idea what was going on, the fact that she had a sister was overwhelming as it was. The fact that Aeos could possibly be her sister too was almost too much for her brain to compute. Her eyes turned to Aryanna who was standing dumbfounded by what had just happened.

"Let me see your wrist."

Whiskey's eyes jerked over to the woman who looked just like her. "Why?"

Havock rolled her eyes and took the three steps that separated them then grabbed the other woman's wrist. "Hey! What's the big idea?"

"Oh shut-up." Ayme was tired. She hated not knowing what the hell was going on, the not knowing was keeping her from getting out of the damn situation they all were in. It was time to solve the mystery. The tattoo was identical to hers in every way. They both had been branded on the inner right wrist, and the ink looked so much alike that it must have been done around the same time to both girls.

"You don't remember do you?" She looked up strangely at her older sister. Aryanna sighed and continued. "After they took us, we were stuck on a ship similar to this one actually. A guy came in tied us to these chairs, and he put that on us. I've never seen you like that, when he was tattooing me, I thought for sure you would break the chair."

Havock dropped her sister's wrist and backed away from her. She only stopped when she reached the wall and slid downward to the floor. Her life had never been simple, but she had come to terms with it. The memory loss, the Black Sun, the orphanage and then Retathorn. She could deal with the nightmares in a way that should could never have explained, she just survived that was it.

Both of them were smoking now, which made Havock want to gag. She hated sigarets, it wasn't even the smell, just everything about them that reminded her of the Black Sun. Today it irritated her more than usual, given their situation. Even when she first arrived at the orphanage on Corellia that was one of the only things she remembered, and it made her stomach churn. She wouldn't know why for many years and still didn't have all the answers.

Havock was close to the door, the other two women had already started to bicker again. They didn't hear the clank that she did as something hit the floor just outside in the hallway. She turned quickly when nothing else seemed to happen, just in time to see the first plumes of green smoke drift into the room from under the door.

"Shit, move." She grabbed Aryanna by the arm and they all made their way to the back of the room.

"Where are we going exactly?"

Aeos started to frantically look around for something to use as a mask or weapon or something. There was no way of knowing what was going to happen when the smoke reached their lungs. Havock coughed and her eyes started to water she fell to the ground and Whiskey grabbed her midsection asking if she was okay over and over through her own coughing. Aeos fell backwards off a crate she was attempting to stubbornly climb as her strength started to give out. The twins fell into a clump on the floor, the older woman soon followed them into darkness.

-------------------------------------

He tapped his fingers on the desk, filling the air with a rhythmic beat. Jed Katash had spent the day sifting though data just to be near his computer terminal. He had been expecting Havock to call in, probably wouldn't have been more than a two sentence message. Her usual ones were something like 'Yes I'm still alive, and no I haven't forgotten about Jaenna yet.'

It seemed like yesterday that he came to Coronet City to start Retathorn. The gang had exceeded his expectations that was for sure. He just wanted an easy way to keep tabs on the Black Sun from inside yet on the fringe of the organization. They were ruthless bastards and he wanted to find a way to bring them down, not that his previous attempt had worked in any way shape or form. The truth was, the only important thing to him now was Havock, keeping her safe and that was no easy task with that girl.

"Hiya boss." Bishop came sauntering in the room. The two men had a love-hate relationship to say the least. Jed was the closest thing Bishop had to a father, and Bishop had dated Havock which made Jed kinda want to kill him.

"What is it Bishop?" He pushed some flimsy around on his desk in a vain attempt to look busy so Bishop would tell him his amazing news and leave.

The young dark haired man started pushing buttons on his datapad, he knew that look and decided it was in his best interest to hurry up. "I came across this on the last system dump from the server. Not sure what it is to be honest, but it looked suspicious, so I brought it down." It wasn't an easy decision to let Bishop in on his surveillance of the Black Sun servers, but he needed the kid. He was one of the best damn slicers around.

Jed reached across the table, his tired blue eyes scanned the information with little interest, until he reached the file Bishop had been talking about. He shot up out of the chair, sending the furniture flying back away from him in retreat. "What the hell?" He muttered under his breath.

"Everything okay, Jed?" Bishop spoke slowly and tried to give a nervous grin but failed when the blue eyes turned to him.

"Get my transport prepped, I'm leaving for a few days." Jed was already around the table grabbing supplies off the shelves in his office.

"Okay, but, what is 'project gate'? And what the hell do they mean they've collected the three 'components'?"

"Its impossible, they couldn't have..." His voice trailed off. He walked over and grabbed Bishop by the collar lifting him out of the chair slightly. "No one, and I mean no one knows about this you hear me boy? I don't want you talking about what you just saw in your dreams, you understand me? If you ever cared about my...about Havock, you don't breath a word."

"Hav...but."

Jed shook him, hard. "Not one word!"

"Okay, okay. I got it." Jed released him and the young commtech fell into the chair unceremoniously. He watched in stunned silence as Jed stomped out of the room yelling something about getting that damn transport prepped already.

-------------------------------------------------

There was something cold and wet against her face. Havock blinked and only then did she realize it was the cold floor and her own drool. She wiped her face quickly then felt the horrible pain radiating from her sinuses. "Ohhh dammit, oww, effing ow."

"Good morning sunshine."

She managed to half open one of her eyes to see Aryanna sitting rubbing her own head against the far wall. Aeos was near the bars of the cell glaring into the empty hallway. One thing was clear, they were no longer in a transport. "Where are we?"

Aeos growled, "I don't know, but what is that smell?"

Havock smelled the air, which just made her head hurt even more. "Uggh, it just smells like grass to me. What's so special about that?"

The other woman shook her head slowly and placed it carefully against the bars. "I wish I knew."

In truth she did know.

And it vexed her.

Aeos inhaled the sweet aroma of the spicy savannah grass again savoring the dancing sense of familiarity and warmth. She shook it loose from her thoughts. There was no source for this smell in her memories.

“Where the frak are we? That what I want to know.”
“Ansion.”  She answered Whiskey almost instantly.
The twins frowned.

“How do you know that?” Havock as she rubbed her face.
“I don’t know.” Aeos answered as she swept the bangs from her eyes. She pressed her face against the colds bars again trying to suppress the smell and the feelings it stirred.

“There there angel.”

A large and firm yet gentle hand forced her face into his clothes, still spiced with the smell of grass when they played hide and seek earlier the day as the sun was setting.

The golden-haired child pushed with chubby hands away from the leather jerkin and glanced up at her teen Uncle with large and watery blue eyes.

He threw a casual yet cautious look around him in the terminal. They were at one of the smaller space-ports which despite its distant location and size was bustling with life of shapes and sizes.  He dropped the seven year old out of his arms and set her down on the ground before going on his knees and framing her face with his hands.

“Little Zee.” He sighed as he caressed her cheek.

“I wanna go home.” The child whimpered with watery eyes.
“No, don’t you remember what mommy said? You’re coming to live with me for a while. You know what I think?”

He tapped one finger on the tip of her freckled nose. She giggled winging his dark worries away for  just that sweet moment.

“I think you ‘re scared.”

“Nu uh.” She fought back, her genetic temper and mild case of family stubbornness fighting to the surface of her personality.

“Zee.” His tone was serious as his blue eyes darkened.
“You need to trust me while you are with me. I won’t let anything happen to you, but always remember. Think with this.” He tapped her head lightly with his index finger.

“You’re stronger than you think you.”

Panic was closing on him and he gathered his niece into his arms and pressed her face into his shoulders.
“Uncle Jed! Don’t be silly!”

She woke up in cold sweat from her seated position against the door.

Havock and Whiskey were studying her with somber expressions on their faces.

“You talk in your sleep. You know that Aeos?”

Aeos rubbed her eyes and stole a glance to the window. She must have been out for an hour at least.

“I haven’t in years, I used to sleepwalk.” She muttered.

“Yeah, Ayme is also special like that. Well as far as I remember.” Whiskey snickered as she noogied Havock.

The latter twin squawked trying to get away from her newly-acquired twin.

Aeos smiled softly at the two sisters. She had a feeling that Whiskey despite their circumstances couldn’t be happier right now than to be with Havock.

“Aeos. Who is Jed?” Havock asked casually all of a sudden.
Aeos frowned.

“Don’t know. Did you hear someone say the name? Maybe the guy who ordered us to be brought here.”

Havock shook her head.

“I strongly doubt that. Just wondering. You were talking about him in your sleep.”

Before Aeos could even contemplate Jed even further the door clanged open. And again it sent Aeos sprawling across the twins.

Zekk entered the room.

“Hi there baby” he cooed affectionately at Aeos. He stooped down and grabbed her by the one leg and dragged her off the twins.

“Remmy took a blood sample earlier. And guess what sunshine? You are our blood. After searching so long. There’s a special ritual awaiting that lovely right hand of yours.”  He chuckled as he pulled her by the leg half-way out through the room as Aeos shrieked and clawed at everything to keep herself grounded. The twins made grabs for her reaching arms, but to two cronies pushed the frantic women away from each.

Zekk bent down and pulled Aeos up her collar and shoved her off to the accompanying guard.

“Bring her with me.” He ordered sharply above Aeos’ string of curses and threats amidst her struggling.

She paced the small cell for the forty or was it forty first time, Havock lost count. Whiskey just looked on as she continued to munch on yet another ration bar. That seemed to be all they were willing to feed them, not that Havock minded, for some reason she found the tasteless bars somewhat satisfying.

"You are going to burn a hole in the floor is you keep that up."

Havock turned to Whiskey, but didn't break her stride. "Where is she?"

She had a horrible feeling she knew where her friend was. And Aeos was her friend, she wasn't sure about this whole sister thing that Aryanna was so damn certain about, but she cared about Ae. The older woman had always been honest with Hav, something that she tended to only get from Jaenna it was nice to have two people to give her their honest opinion.

"You should sit, have a ration bar. You worry too much." Havock snapped her head to look back at Whiskey, her feet halting abruptly. "Ayme, you've always been like this, you need to relax. You almost got yourself killed when we were kids."

"By worrying?" She rolled her eyes, her hands began to fidget with her hair and her clothes.

"No, by jumping in front of me and getting yourself shot." Aryanna's voice had risen, the ration bar in her hand nearly forgotten. "That's why they separated us, Ayme. You were hurt so bad you spent the next god knows how long in the hospital in a coma, you were not supposed to wake up. They told me you died." Whiskey shrugged and looked away quickly.

Havock looked at the girl, it was a strange feeling to look at an almost exact replica of yourself on the floor about to cry. Their features were an exact match. From the blond hair, the blue eyes, the way their noses turned, they even looked to be about the same weight. The similarities stopped there though. She suddenly realized she had no idea why. "I don't remember." She knelt to the floor where she had been standing about 2 meters away from Aryanna whose blue eyes were still glaring into the wall away from her sister.

"I know," she whispered under her breath. Her face turned sharply with an angry scowl. "Lucky you."

Aryanna jumped to her feet, throwing what was left of the ration bar uselessly against the bars of the jail cell. "Tell me then." She looked at her younger sister who was also on her feet now with fire in her eyes. "Ary if I don't remember, then just tell me. I trust you, I'll believe you."

She took a long deep breath and her eyes examined Ayme's face. "You had horrible nightmares, Mom and Dad had to move you to your own room so you wouldn't wake me up. You used to take everything apart - toys, chronos, Dad's speeder." She paused to smirk at that memory. "Anyways we moved around a ton, after Zasati went missing, our parents got wicked overprotective of both of us. You...you were always in so much trouble. You would just get up and leave, they would be frantic to find you and then you'd just appear hours later saying you'd been up in a tree or something stupid like that." Ary sniffled but refused to cry. "You made me crazy my whole life, but I love you. I felt like I was missing an arm or something without you."

Havock had to admit she felt strangely connected to Whiskey. It was a strange and foreign sensation to her, but feelings always had been. The only feeling she ever seemed to feel was despair over not being able to remember who she had been before waking up in the hospital, the months after that were hazy as it was. In fact she really wished they were hazier.

"I'm sorry, I don't think I've improved much. I still seem to find myself in lots of trouble."

Whiskey smirked and pointed to the room around them with both hands. "Yea, no shit."

A sound in the hallway drew both of their attention back to the situation at hand. Two men were dragging a semi-conscious Aeos through the hallway. They were chattering back and forth to each other about the bruises they would have tomorrow, then they threw the girl into the cell and turned without stopping their conversation. Whiskey jumped up and tried to grab one of them as they closed the door, that just made them laugh and start talking about their plans for lunch.

Havock crawled over and took a protective stance next to Aeos. "Are you okay? Ae? What did they do? Ae? Talk to me?"

Aeos squirmed away as best she could. Her hand was covering her wrist she looked like someone that wanted to run away and never stop running. She looked at the walls the bars her breathing rate increasing as she tried to figure out a way to find more room in the small cell. The walls felt like they were crushing her.

"Ayme is she okay?" Whiskey was now standing over the other two women, looking mildly concerned but more annoyed at the whole situation.

Havock tried to put her hand on Aeos' shoulder but the older woman practically snarled and scooted farther away. "I really don't think so Ary." Her eyes rose slowly from the woman on the floor to glare out towards the hallway.

"Ayme." Whiskey spoke slowly, she knew that look.

Calloused fingers kept running aggressively across her arms, her face, and her fingers, just everywhere.  Her knuckles were bloodied from where she had tried to hit laughing alto voices in blind rage against their amour and against the walls as they dodged her blindfolded frame. Somewhere a howl had sounded and she was strapped down with barking orders from a familiar voice ought to have brought her comfort and dignity.

She had known what they were going to do hence the lost rage. She will not be branded like an animal.  The sound of ropes strapped around her and coiled her right arm tightly to the chair, her wrist exposed to the above world of needles and artistic suave.

His hand grabbed her chin somewhere along the hour and framed her cheeks painfully.

“You’re one of us now babe.” He gushed into her ear.

He yanked his hand away to give her a pat on the head.
Through the whole ordeal she blacked out somewhere and woke up as she fell into Havock’s arms. With a snarl the younger woman was pushed away.  She dragged herself away, humiliated at the sting of a burnt tattoo on her wrist. She was not a frakking animal. She curled into herself in the nearest corner shoving her back to the room and the rest of the world. She needed time and space to scrounge back together some scraps of dignity.

***
Her lithe form hued in tints of blue lied in a crumbled form at the corner bringing a sad smile to his face.  He tried to find Havock and Whiskey on the camera and with some panning he caught the twins huddling together throwing cautious yet concerned glances at Aeos.

He actually did somewhere like her. Through the stoic Imperial façade she threw up for all the worlds of the galaxy to hate there was spunk and passion.  He reached for the half-empty carton of lungblasters and lit one up.

Too bad for her lack of judgment in good cigarettes.  He spat the burning thing from his mouth to the floor and trampled with the heel of his shoe on it.
“Zekk?”

The slender gangster glanced up from the cameras to the voice coming from the door.
It was the twilek.

“Yes Aarbol?” he sighed getting up. He needed a smoke.
“When are we going?”

“Another twelve hours. Chief needed to affirm the business here first but the girls are wanted asap.”

Aarbol frowned and shrugged against the door frame.
“This whole business is lame. This is a lame job.”

Zekk finally managed to fish a cig from another packet in a drawer.

“The pay is good. That’s all that matters.” He muttered.
“I don’t get who’d pay for them to be brought in alive. If they wanted the codes, just chop of the arm-“

“That’s enough Aarbol. Get lost.” Zekk ordered as he dropped into his seat again.

The twilek moved again, silently protesting but as if realizing the futility of it, he left.

Zekk sighed.

This business was getting ugly for him.  Too damn uncomfortable for him.

“You are not going anywhere soon.” He muttered softly at the screen with a sinister smile curling. He pulled himself from his seat. He was in desperate need of drink. Screw the watch shifts.

There it was, Ansion. Jed Katash looked out over the planet that was quickly filling his view port and could feel his chest tighten. Part of him hated this place with every fiber in his bones, another wanted to burst out in tears of joy to be home. He probably knew every stone in the earth, he could have piloted the small transport home blindfolded from where he sat. He was nineteen, still a damn teenager when the worst of it all happened, when he lost her. He could never return after that, he just couldn't face his brother, and now he would never have the chance to tell him how sorry he was.

He did his best though, when Zasati was lost some part of him refused to acknowledge that she was dead. He spent years searching for her on Raxus Prime but there was never any luck. So, he went back to the original plan, keep under the radar. Work for the Black Sun, just as his parents had, except he would be trying to keep tabs on what they were doing not help them do it. There would be moment one day, they would slip up and he would be there.

They may not have slipped up, but they did make a mistake. They managed to lose Ayme. That girl was always a trouble maker even as a toddler she was constantly into things she shouldn't have been. All three of them had quick wits about them, it was no surprise that she outsmarted the dumbasses in the Black Sun. He happened upon her, a practically nameless orphan roaming the streets. She didn't know where she came from or who she was, but he knew that tattoo, he knew what his parents were capable of and what that mark meant. She was stubborn as hell though, she refused to tell him her name for six solid months, that always made him smile. It was an odd six months though, not knowing if he had found Ayme or Aryanna. Then again, given the trouble she got herself into, some part of him knew it was Ayme all along.

Once he landed and entered the compound he knew all to well, they would know he had betrayed them. The jig would be up, once again. Running in half-cocked is what got him and his brother into this mess in the first place. And now he was about to go and raid the same damn installation all over again. Well at least I kinda know where I'm going.

He typed the familiar coordinates in the nav computer and prepared for one hell of a day.

----------------------------------

Whiskey pushed her sister back away from the bars for the fifth time and was starting to get rather annoyed with her. "Dammit Ayme, enough."

"Well come on down here, you bastards!" She ran at the bars again, and was pushed so hard by Aryanna she fell backwards tumbling over some crates.

"Enough! You stubborn, pain in the ass." Whiskey stepped over to stand by her and sighed then knelt down. "Ayme what are you going to do? Take on the whole gang yourself? We are in a cage with no weapons, think with your head for once."

Havock was breathing ragged, her lip trembled as tears began to fall from sheer frustration. She started to get up then screamed and threw something small and nearby as hard as she could against the bars before she collapsed to the floor in a heap of futility. She dimly became aware of a figure sliding to the floor next to her.

"Ayme. How did you escape...before?"

Havock stayed with her face pressed to the ground for several long moments before she spoke to Aryanna. "I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know, how can you not know?"

She shot up and growled close to Ary's face making the minutes older girl recoil a bit. "I don't know. I remember hitting someone, then I ran, there were these dog like things and I jumped. I remember falling, I know I hit my head and it was raining. But Dammit Ary, I don't remember anything beyond that. I woke up in the orphanage. I can't, I just can't!"

"O-okay, okay Ayme. Just calm down." They stared at each other for was seemed like a very long time. Aeos remained curled up in the corner of the room. She was watching the scene in front of her but stayed silent. She was still consumed with all that had happened to her today, and seeing her like that just made Ayme want to shout at the bars of their cell some more. "I'm sorry."

Ayme nodded and let her head fall gently to Aryanna's shoulder. "Thank you, for not letting me damage our cell."

"What in the hell am I going to do with you?"

------------------------------------------------------

Zekk looked at the screen and smirked as he finished his small flask of whiskey. Women, pfft.

"Dammit Zekk. I said go get those girls and get them ready for transport already. We got what we needed from this rock." Aarbol glared at the skinny man sitting with a lung blaster in his mouth and his feet up on the table. "Seriously man, this isn't a damn holodrama you're watching. Now go down there and get them."

"Fine, fine, keep your panties on." He tossed his lung blaster and barked down towards the room which contained half a dozen half awake men. "Let's get this over with." He muttered under his breath as he stomped towards the jail cell.

A young girl of no more than eleven fell violently against the tar face-first. Bloodied and bruised she got up and glared at her assaulter. They wouldn’t dare do anything. Not here for the moment.

Around them the street bustled with hawkers, junkers and capitalists all bent on getting a ride from the credits hugged together in those snazzy leather pouches she was trying to grab. Only problem was. She was out of her territory.

One of the bigger teenage girls shoved her to her knees again. A piece of glass gaffed into her palm as she hit the ground again.
“This is our turf gomgat!” the cat shrieked.

The pickpocket life was difficult. She couldn’t wait to get back to her pack.

Aeos tried not to cry as she silently cursed her pack for sending her to the city. They had wanted city food and she was the only person in the whole group who could read.

“Oye! Backoff from the girl.”  A strong and firm voice commanded.
She was still trying to detach the piece of glass from her palm as the picketers scrambled.

She sighed mentally.

Another effing rich goodie-two-shoes she thought as a hand extended down to her face. She glanced up at a youthful face of a middle-twenties human male with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Jed she instinctively thought. She shook the word lose from her thoughts. She had no clue what it meant. He smiled awkwardly and tried to make a grab for the young orphan girl’s hand.
She slapped the insult away and pushed herself off the ground before retreating away from him speedily.

“In this world, you and I. We don’t talk.” She said defiantly out to him before disappearing into the bustling crowd around leaving a bewildered young yet sad man behind.

Aeos pulled herself out of the dreamless shock of sleep she had allowed herself into and propped herself up against the wall.
“Havock and Whiskey.” She said with a hoarse voice.
The twins spun around from where they sat huddled at the door trying to make sense of escape.

“I don’t know what hell this is, but whatever I’m into. It’s got something to do with you two. There will be hell to pay on both sides.” She growled.

She pushed herself up against the wall and slipped out of her jacket only to continiue tearing it into long pieces of shredded fabric. One of the dark red pieces wounded up coiled around her right wrist and palm effectively hiding the new ink blemish she had received earlier.

Whiskey frowned. Surprisingly however, it was Havock who reacted.

“You will make no threats in this room Aeos.” Havock hissed suddenly and aggressively. Very much out of character. Within a short few paces she had reached Aeos and grabbed her by the collar and slammed her against the wall. She was just about sick of this.

“No threats. Are we clear?”

“Ayme, calm down.” Whiskey ordered sharply and lowly though the fire in her eyes burnt with fury at Aeos.

Havock speedily replaced her one fist with an elbow and pressed it up into Aeos’ throat.

“No. Whiskey. Aeos’ presence here is not accidental and it is time she faces fact or by the gods I swear-“

“Hello ladies. Lets try and take it calmly.”

Zekk had his arms lazily interlacing in and out between the door bars studying the fiasco in front of him.

Aeos and Havock made eye contact.  Aeos shoved Havock but not enough for the contact to break.

“Get your hands off of me.” She ordered coldly.
Whiskey who per usual managed the cool of the people surrounding her for the first time felt a trickle of panic washing over her. It was still manageable when in captivity, but fighting amongst the captives was not part of her calculated cool.

Havock shoved back again and slammed Aeos against the wall.
The door  clanged open with an alarming echo.

He couldn’t allow one of them to be harmed. Not when his life and paycheck depended on it.  He retrieved his pistol and instinctively found the knob where he activated it down to stun.  He rushed past Whiskey to where Aeos and Havock was still scuffling.

The world suddenly tipped with three-sixty degrees and then a flying fist hit his face again and again and again.

Havock and Whiskey rushed to pull Aeos off from the dazed man.  The sincerity of the civil disagreement between Aeos and Havock was very much real but they had not forgotten how to read each other and maneuver together in silence.  However, Aeos still energized and furious with rage pounded into his face as soon as she and Havock had elbowed him.

“Aeos, later! We need to get out.” Whiskey wheezed as she and Havock pulled Aeos off from the man and out of the cell.

The corridors were spinning as the three women tried to run towards an exit not one of them knew where to find. Havock couldn't shake the dizzy feeling or the urge to vomit in the pit of her stomach. For someone who made repressing her emotions an art she had run the gambit in a matter of several minutes.

She couldn't pinpoint what made her snap at Aeos, she was able to use the situation to their advantage, which only slightly comforted her. The trigger for her outburst was still eluding her. That was where her worry lied. She was like that as a kid, she would turn and snap at someone for no reason at all. Even later on when the anger dissipated into a numb-like feeling she never could figure out what caused it to boil up in the first place.

"Ayme, come on!" Whiskey grabbed her dazed sister by the wrist and pulled her down another hallway. The boots echoing in the halls around them increasing in speed as the moments clicked by.

The corridor they were in terminated with what looked like a hatch door you would find on a transport ship. Aeos knew that structurally it either had to lead up or down into a basement. She really, really hoped it didn't lead down. Once they reached the hatch there would be no turning back. "Let's go you two."

They all picked up pace, now at a full out run. Havock turned to look behind her and could see the shadows of half a dozen men about to turn the corner at the very opposite end, which meant they had less than two minutes to get out and find a place to hide. Aeos reached the door and as her hand extended to touch the control, the door suddenly opened.

The fact that a figure was standing there was all any of their brains registered as they looked crest-fallen and apprehensive at the man. Whiskey balled her fists and prepared for one hell of a fight, she was going out that door. She was about to punch the equally shaken blond man when Havock yell threw her completely off balance.

"Jed! Why are you here?" Havock pushed past her stunned sister and crossed her arms in a child-like fashion.

Jed couldn't believe that they were already on their way out. These losers that took the sisters must have been stupider than he thought. Seeing the three of them all together almost made him want to burst out in tears and hug them right there, almost. "Later, right now move. My transport is not far, Havvie you know the one. We will figure this all out, but not right now." His eyes tore themselves away from the most important things in his life and narrowed on the Black Sun mercs running full speed towards them screaming into their comlinks. The twins were already outside but Aeos was still firmly planted right where she had been when the door opened. Jed pulled something out of his pocket and grabbed her shirt sleve at the same time. "Go, I'll explain later."

Aeos gulped, her face was distorted with confusion. Havock and Whiskey looked at each other to see if either knew what was so shocking, then decided to heed their rescuers advice and get the hell out of there. Both sisters grabbed one of Aeos' arms and started running in the direction Jed had pointed.

He glanced at them to make sure they were running away then smirked at the morons running towards him. "Its so true, you really do get what you pay for." He clicked the pin on the detonator and tossed it right in the mix of mercs. Two attempted to catch the device which just made Jed want to laugh. He slammed the door controls with his palm and ran as fast as he could in the direction the girls had gone. The ground vibrated below his feet as the explosive went off.

--------------------------

They entered the passenger area of the ship and Whiskey immediately collapsed to the floor to catch her breath. Havock looked at her and smirked, she couldn't help but think what a good thing it was that she went running with Jaenna so often. Aeos, on the other hand, was standing like a statue staring at the wall. As if she had run up the ramp and only decided to stop to avoid hitting the wall, then just chose to stay standing there.

"He's Jed." Aeos spoke in the quietest tone Havock had ever heard her use.

"So what, you both know this guy? Cause I'm seriously thinking we should take this ship and get the hell out of here. I'm in no mood to trust any more people today." Whiskey's words were broken as she continued to suck air in to her deprived lungs.

Havock was looking oddly at Aeos' back. "I...he's my foster father, I guess. He took me in from the orphanage. I've lived with him since I was thirteen. So no, you can't steal his ship." She blinked a few times and cocked her head to the side. "Ae...how would you know him?"

"He's Jed." She repeated only slightly louder than the first time.

"I know that Ae, but you're acting like you just saw a ghost. And you've never even met him so why..."

Aeos turned quickly and grabbed Havock by the shoulders, slamming her into the bulkhead behind her. "He's Jed," Aeos yelled with a frazzled voice that was totally out of her character.

"I know!" Havock yelled right back.

"No." Whiskey whispered from the floor where she was looking on in disbelief as she put the puzzle together. "Ayme, she's saying he's Jed. The Jed she saw when she was dreaming."

Ayme blinked and made eye contact with Aeos, who quickly looked away but her hands didn't lose their grip on her shoulders.

Jed ran through the entryway his body contorting as he twisted to hit the door controls. He backed away, watching the landscape as the door ascended and closed. A triumphant smirk spread across his face, then he turned to look at the three girls and the color left his cheeks. The twins had never looked more alike in the accusatory glare they were giving him, and the girl that had to be Zee was looking at the floor with little expression in her face at all. "This is already going bad, isn't it? I'll just go get the ship airborne, then we can...talk."

The flight out had proved to be uneventful discounting the numerous smaller fighter jets sent after them. However, as soon as Jed had punched in the hyperspace coordinates they winked out and away from the enemy clutches.

As the stars streaked past the bubble view ports Aeos tried to distance herself from the explosive scenario around her.  Having disposed of the initial shock when she first met the older man, she was now composed and in control.

Havock and Whiskey were now chatting avidly with one another, the lack of threat giving them the space to try and catch up with one another since the day of their violent separation. Jed was somewhere busying himself with something and Aeos violently hoped he wouldn’t return soon.

“Havock, are you familiar with this ship?” she asked quietly.

“Yup. Know it like the back of my hand.” Havock piped.

“You have a room somewhere I can sleep? Just till we get the nearest space-station. I’ll manage from there.”

Whiskey sighed and shaked her head while Havock.

“Yes, there is a room-“

“Thank the gods of sith-“

“But you’re not going to lock yourself up for the rest of this trip. I think there is some things we all need to talk about.”  Havock interrupted.

Aeos glanced at Havock aghast. She was suggestion to her to stick around?
“Not a moer.” Aeos cut back.

“Yes a moer.” Whiskey shot the alien curse word back at Aeos.

Jed sighed and blew the stray hair falling into face away. In his hands he held a tray of strong tea shot with some none-lethal energy spices.  Havock despite her rueful stubbornness would be the easiest he reckoned as she was already used to his unexplained presence in her life. Aryana he imagined would be the next to convince but more easily. During a brief exchange of words he had with Havock in the small kitchen as he prepared the Auto-Chef he had learned Aryana’s memory remained more or less intact.

Aeos however, was a different matter.

He narrowed his eyes at the twins and her arguing with another back and forth.
The twins had always been stubborn and if she was anything like those two convincing her would take a lot more than a few sweet words.  If this was little Zee, then not only would he have to convince her rationality but her stubborn sense of denial as well. He remembered, even as a child her level of rationality and sensibility despite being practical could be a source of frustration. Her refusal to believe in space fairies was a source of great irritation for the twins who were toddlers at that time.

It felt good. Despite the turbulent storms which laid ahead it felt good to be here with them together against. They were fragments of the former Katash family but together at least. He had never imagined it would be possible. The burden he had carried for Aryana and Aeos was lifting and he knew he would not have to answer to the ghost of his older brother.  But by sweet gods. There was no denying the almost twin-like similarities between Aeos and his diseased sister-in-law. He had to convince her and Aryana.

He coughed violently announcing his presence to them and proceeded towards the small steel coffee side table located against the one curving wall.

“Make yourselves at home.” He said in a warm and light voice desperately trying to keep the panic of happiness and fear at bay as he set the tray down.

Havock pounced onto the tray of tea with Whiskey following suite reluctantly. The twins along with Jed settled into their seats leaving just Aeos standing leaning against the plasta-glass of the view-port. She scoffed and glanced away.

For a minute it was silent. Just silent as each individual fiddled with their fingers, their mugs, the sugar.

Havock took a deep breath finding the smothering awkwardness to be unbearable and-

“We’ve met before.”

Jed glanced up surprised at Aeos.  He refused to believe it would be this easy.
“Well naturally-“

“On Raxus Prime. Bout thirteen or twelve years ago. You wanted to help me up.”

The vague memory of a dirty yet defiant girl with bruised knees and a cut palm shimmered into his thoughts.

That was her?

“You must have introduced yourself there. That is how I know you.” Aeos continued to rationalize.
Havock and Aryana groaned simultaneously and Havock fell with her head into her hands.
Jed formed a silent o with his mouth and leaned back into his seat. He remembered it. And it was a good argument she had.

“Jed….” Havock said quietly much in the same tone Aeos had spoken with earlier.
“How are you involved with this?  She asked cocking her head to the side with a frown. Suddenly her face scrunched up in defiance.

“Because I swear, I get so sick of you always hovering around smothering me!” she mumbled and crossing her arms again.

Jed sighed and arched his eyebrows. He glanced at his wrist-chrono.
“We have two or three hours to kill before we hit the next hyperspace click.  Let’s start at the beginning. I am Jed Katash. And you two?  How do you call yourself and how do you three know eachother?”

Whiskey and Aeos glanced at one another and shrugged.
“I’m Whiskey. Aeos and I haven’t met till this thing but we are in the same division.”  Whiskey answered.

Jed tried to hide his amused smile of surprise.
Whiskey?

“Division? You are both in the military?” he asked surprised.
“Yes, I think we all three are in the same Company even. Unfortunately.” Aeos added as an afterthought.

“Your name?”

“Aeos.”

Jed leaned back into his seat.
He had twins whose names relates to destruction and alcohol and another possible niece who’s name rhymed with chaos. He definitely had his work cut out for him for the next three hours.

“Jed, you still haven’t explained to me why you are here or how you found us.” Havock interrupted before he could start.

Jed rubbed his face violently with his two hands.

He had never prepared for this, never having thought that it would actually happen.  Imagine it? Thousands times over but never had he thought it possible.

The city was cold, it had no feelings, no insecurities. It just existed for better or worse it sprawled out across a concrete landscape as far as the eyes could see. From the twentieth story window he looked out at the lights dotting the otherwise dark scene in front of him. He liked the city. He reveled in the lack of nature on the surface of Coruscant, and the fact that no matter which direction he drove in he would never hit a tree.

Kenrick Katash had been raised in a city, he lived in one his entire life. The day he gained enough status in the Black Sun to move to their headquarters on Coruscant he was thrilled. He just wished his sons had felt the way he did. It vexed Kenrick that with all his resources his family seemed to be the one thing that continued to elude him no matter what he did.

“You should eat.” A constantly in motion blond blur brushed her hand on his shoulder as she moved to the liquor cabinet and poured them both a drink.

“Its brilliant, how I didn’t think of it I’ll never fathom.” Eri’anya nodded and set his glass down behind him on his desk before taking a sip from her own glass as she waited for her husband to continue. “Jed worked for us all this time. If I had looked at one damn report from Corellia…dammit. I was searching for a needle hiding in a haystack and he was sitting on top of the pile of hay right there, I just never looked.”

“You’re getting upset, don’t do that. We found him that’s all that matters.”

“Found him and lost him you mean.” He paused and rubbed his grizzled chin as he continued to study the landscape. “Do you think the girls…is it really them Anya?”

She stepped next to him and tried to find the point of light that he was finding so interesting. “The blood test proved it was Zasati, and look at the holo Kenrick, she’s a replica of their mother. The twins, I gave up on seeing them again so very long ago. Even if we could find Aryanna I always just figured the organization would find a way to keep her from us for what happened. Ayme, they told us she was dead.”

“She should be, every doctor I managed to send to that hospital without being caught always reported her brain activity as minimal. She took one hell of a knock to the head, the tests all pointed to her never waking up.” He sighed and reached behind him grabbing the glass and watching solemnly as the liquid swished and slowly returned to calm after a moment. “I want those girls here Anya, too much time has been wasted with Jed’s impossible stubbornness.”

“They are Jarick and Sarisa’s children, you seriously expect them not to be just as stubborn?”

He flinched slightly at the mention of his eldest son and daughter-in-law. “No, based on their ability to escape and from everything else I’ve read, they are far worse in that department.”

---------------------------------

“We came to Ansion to get away from the Black Sun, why in the hell are we walking right up to their door step?”

Jarick turned towards his younger brother, his jaw was set, a sure sign there was no talking him out of this crazy idea. “I can’t just ignore them. Maybe you can Jed, maybe you can go on with your life and pretend those evil pricks don’t exist. I won’t let my children grow up in a world that’s okay with that shit.”

Jed crossed his arms. They had moved to Ansion eight years before, just after Jarick and Sarisa found out they were pregnant with their first child. Now they had a tenacious seven year old girl, whom Jed adored, and identical twin girls who were just about to celebrate their third birthday.  “Jarick you have to think about the girls.”

“I am. Don’t you get that?” He looked away his eyes fixing on the instillation they had just finished building only five kilometer’s from their home. Jarick just knew they built it to keep an eye on them, to take the girls from him the first chance they got. Jarick and his brother still could not be touched without orders from the top, and even then they could not be harmed. He knew the code all too well.

“Yea, just like you were thinking about me when you took me here.” Jed was eleven the day his older brother ran into his bedroom and told him to hurry up and pack a bag. Jarick was angry as hell and Jed knew better than to question him in that mood. They came on Ansion, and when Jed heard the whole story he understood and agreed with the decision. He just sometimes wished he had seen his father being such an ass hole for himself rather than having to rely on Jarick’s stories.

“Dammit Jed you can leave whenever you please. You think you know so much better than I do, go on. Maybe you would have preferred that I left you there so Dad could train you to be his successor day in and out, analyzing every damned decision you were making down to the flavor of ice cream you pick. Fuck that.”  He stomped off back towards the house they had built together when the brothers arrived on the rural planet.

Jed looked up at the distant instillation. “I have a bad feeling about this.”

-------------------------------------------------

“Havvie…” Jed sighed, no matter how hard he rubbed his face he just couldn’t find a way to make the words make sense. He locked eyes with the girl he had raised since she was thirteen and smirked slightly. He grabbed the wrist of his long shirt and started rolling it up, he continued past his elbow then twisted his arm in an awkward out turn revealing the same kind of Black Sun tattoo that she had on her wrist, his was well hidden on his inner arm.

“What the hell Jed?” Havock looked like she was seriously contemplating how to escape the transport in hyperspace.

“You have no idea how much you remind me of your father, you know that kiddo?” The look of confusion morphed into pure anger so Jed quickly continued. “I knew you the second I looked at you, the tattoo on your wrist just confirmed it. It’s a brand, means you are part of the ruling class of the Black Sun organization. Jarick never wanted any of you to have one. To think I was proud the day I got mine.”

Havock growled, “what are you talking about?”

“I almost just told you, so many times. You would get so angry just like Jarick, and you never knew, it is your name you know. Ayme Katash, that’s you. I know you always thought you were just using my last name as a substitute for your ‘real’ last name. But it is your last name, you had it right all along.”

“Who are you?”

He had to smile, she was always quick no matter what she could pick up on the little things people didn’t want to say. “I’m Jed Katash, heh. I’m your uncle. Jarick, your father, was my big brother.”

“No.” She hissed at him and stood quickly putting the chair between her and him. “No, you are not. Stop this Jed, it’s not funny.”

He stood up and reached his arm towards her which just made her jump back more, she growled something incoherent and took off towards one of the passenger rooms, the door slamming shut behind her.

“Oh but I’m not allowed a room. Fuck this shit.”
Another chair scraped against the floor violently and a minute later another door slammed closed leaving an awkward silence between Whiskey and Jed who had remained in their seats.

Jed coughed into his hand and sighed. Whiskey swung her legs forward and backward perching on the edge of her seat as she tried to gaze nonchalantly about while at the same time trying to process what had just transpired.  She continued busying herself with the tray of liquids Jed had set down earlier fiercely wishing he had something stronger.  Jed meanwhile was unrolling his sleeve back down to cover the crest again and dropped his pale face into his hand mumbling softy to himself. He peeked at Whisky through his fingers tiredly and she met his gaze through the steam of her tea.

“So…you’re my Uncle.” She stated a matter of fact.

Jed nodded and sighed. Whiskey frowned as she tried to contemplate the whole reality. She had after all a childhood of memories to access and confirm with if she tried hard enough. Fragmented memories at least but she had them unlike Aeos or Havock.

Jed studied Whiskey who was studying him as well. The lifetime of hurt Jarick had wanted to save his daughters from had hit them double and triple in the back and it showed.

“I know there is very little I can say to proof-“

“I believe you.”
Jed could scarcely believe his ears. He pulled his face from his hands and stared at Whiskey stoically.
“You do?”
Whiskey nodded and leaned back into her chair, relaxing.

“Havock I imagine is just more hurt at the fact that she only finds out about it now. Which begs the question; why now? It’s a bit stupid of you to have kept it from her.”

Jed nodded at Whiskey in silent agreement. But he had been terrified of the matter and never thought the necessity to address the issue would arise until now.

“Havock just needs time. Frak. I need time.” Whiskey continued as she fiddled with the tea in her hand.
“And Aeos?”

Whiskey sighed and leaned back into her chair before leaning forward again in the intersection of the movements as her mind was caught in the intersection of crossing paths with the galaxy.

“Good luck on that.  I question her involvement in this as much as she does. But at the same time I know there more to this-“

Aeos turned her ear away from the door along with her body and slumped with her back against it. Couldn’t their sort this out on Tadath? Back home?

Years on Tadath had fostered Aeos to the planet as her home and she was reluctant to deal with matters such as these outside her comfort zone.  She heard the voices of Whiskey and Jed still falling numbly against her door and she sighed. She honestly could not deal with this right. Maybe she could tackle this when she retires one day. She stole a glance down to her chrono. They should be making the jump to that spaceport soon.

She pressed her ear against the door again. Good, they were still occupied. She needed to get to the main computer terminal. Damn she really needed a bot. Her hacking skills were severely limited. Aeos smirked. Who said however she needed to hack?

Jed and Whiskey had been talking animatedly for the past hour when Jed’s chrono went off. He got up instantly and gestured Whiskey to follow him.
“We’re gonna make the next jump.” He stated with a stoic face. He had been enjoying this little private moment between them but at the same time he shuddered to consider spending the same amount of time in private with either Havock or Aeos. They were striding down the hall towards the cockpit when the whole ship suddenly lurched them off from their feet.

“What the frak.” Jed mumbled to himself. He grabbed onto the wall and pulled Whiskey back onto her feet.  He frowned. Something was off.

It was a small room. Not much more than a bed and enough room to walk around it. There was a locker for clothes and weapons under the bed, she didn't need to look for it she just knew. That's what annoyed her the most, the things she knew and all the things she grew up not knowing. She hated the blanks in her memory the same way a moth hates the flame. She knew that her brain had a damn good reason for blocking all the memories out, yet she still tried to remember them all these years. She knew that once she remembered or found out it would burn her, but still dumb ass that she was, she flew right into the damn fire.

Havock glared at the darkened door, she didn't bother to turn on the lights, really her eyes should have been closed. There was nothing further she cared to see at the moment. Her legs were drawn up to her chest and she hugged them to her tightly as if they were the only reliable real thing in her life, maybe that was true. Maybe she really could only depend upon herself in this fucked up world she was living in.

Her brain scanned at an intense speed all the memories of the man she grew to care for as close to a father as she could imagine. All the nightmares, all the struggles with who she was, all the questions and the man who could have answered them was right there all along. She flinched as her muscles sang out to throw something but her already tightly clenched hands opted to grip her calves even tighter. Her skin and muscles screamed from the pressure but she didn't care, at the moment all she could feel was anger and numb, pain was almost a welcomed third addition.

She felt the ship lurch, her eyes lazily traveled up the door and settled on the controls with no intention of relaxing her arms enough to release her trapped legs. She knew the ship, that thought made her want to laugh, just one more thing useless thing she knew in this world. She sighed, but she did know the ship, and that motion accompanied by the sound she was hearing were not good. Jed would have to set down as soon as possible, she could already feel him easing the ship towards some obscure destination.

Suddenly, the anger over took her. She stopped caring, stopped thinking and just reacted. Havock was up in a flash her hand hit the control so hard she heard the button snap as the door swung open. She took several stomping steps and noticed nobody in the crew area, which meant Jed and Whiskey were in the cockpit, but Aeos wouldn't be in the cockpit unless she was flying the ship. Since that was unlikely. Her eyes turned slowly to the door just to her right and she kicked the door as hard as she could. Of course it didn't budge, but she just kept kicking and punching until her knuckles were bloody and her hip screamed from the lack of give in the object.

-----------------------------------

"We need to land, now."

Whiskey fell into the co-pilots chair next to Jed. "No shit, but where?"

The controls shuddered in his hands as the ship fought to heal itself from whatever had attacked it from within. "See that planet down there, I don't give a frak what its name is or who lives there, but we are visiting."

She nodded and got to work on the landing preparations, it wouldn't be long before they would be on the ground. She dimly heard banging in the crew quarters but there was no time for Ayme's outburst right now. She couldn't imagine what her sister was going through, she hated her memories but they were hers and she knew the truth from the fiction. The part of her that was awakening after so many years, that part that made her someones big sister, made her want to beat the shit out of Jed for hurting Ayme like this. But now was not the time, now they just needed to land this thing before it flew apart.

----------------------------------

The door gave way not from the force of the angry blond haired woman slamming herself into it but from the controls being pushed by the occupant. "Hav?"

Havock pushed Aeos by the shoulder, shoving her back into the dimly lit room until they both smashed into the wall together.

"What the hell, Havock?"

Ayme threw her arms up, running both hands through her hair as she paced in a circle in front of the older woman. "Who are you?" She growled more than spoke the words. Her mind was a jumbled mess and she needed things to make sense again. "Come on, Ae. Everyone else lied to me, everyone else knew more about me than I do. So come on, who are you? Huh?" She ran up and pushed the dumbfounded woman against the wall again. "Who are you?" Her voice cracked, she couldn't feel it but she was crying.

"Its not about who I am." Aeos spoke quietly, she looked almost sad yet like a prisoner who knew their fate and was resolved to it. "You are pissed off because now you have no idea who you are."

Ayme cocked her head to the side and blinked at Aeos. She slowly became more aware of things around her. The first thing to fizzle into her perception was the burning in her chest from her rapid breathing, then the pain from her hands and legs began to throb, then a hissing came from her ears. No, it wasn't coming from her it was the room, something in the room was hissing. She raised a tired eyebrow and allowed her eyes to sweep the room, coming to rest on a pipe above the bed. A pipe that had a crack that shouldn't have been there, a think mist was spewing from the larger parts of the crack. Havock knew that pipe, heh, Aeos was right the anger was from the fact that she couldn't even tell someone what day she was born but she knew without a second thought that the pipe leaking above her head held the air that maintained the pressure in the hyperdrive.

Without a word Havock turned and slouched as she exited the room making her way to the hyperdrive to see how bad the damage was. She would have headed towards the cockpit but she had no desire whatsoever to see anyone right now.

Sorry, its a bit short but seriously had no time. Sorry for the wait Havock )

This was perfect. The little oil smudge located at random at one of the hundreds of hyperspace points across the galaxy. It was nameless and went with a default name like N1 40 A or in that direction.  She didn’t even have to worry about any extra bags and retrieving credits even from a shithole like this would be easy. She had left whatever credits and assortments of value she did have in Jed’s cabin. Really, the damage did go slightly overboard but she did know what she was doing when she broke that pipe.  She was after all a qualified pilot from the Navy.

Aeos untied her hair loose and let it hung free. As soon as she had slipped into the terminal with Havock, Whiskey and Jed on their way to a repair shop she dodged them into a clothing booth where she swapped her regular though tattered uniform for something more casual.  With an array of bright beads, massive ear-rings, a pair of bellowing stitched pants, and a turquoise tattered silk vest and her waist-length hair Aeos now passed off as a regular bohemian space junkie.  She passed the repair-shop completely confident with her attire knowing that it was the one disguise people would not expect from this dead-set serious woman.  Around her aliens of all races, ages and cultures bustled past her in a buzz of tedious excitement at traveling or complaining about late deliveries and shuttles. The low ceiling above leaked with oil here and there while funky and spazzy music of bad tin-like quality filled the narrow passage ways.

She recognize Havock’s frame from far and soon found Jed and Whiskey as well. They were at the repair shop but clearly they were not concentrating on the location. Their heads were whipping around frantically and Aeos knew they were looking for her. She frowned and smiled as she tried to surpress the regret and the guilt. She knew that what she was doing right now was wrong. But she didn’t know how to handle it otherwise. It would crush Havock to an extent and deepen the damage to their chaotic friendship.
“Sorry Havi.” She muttered softly just as a familiar pair of blue eyes caught her gaze. She broke the contact instantly and disappeared into the crowd.

~So very long ago - RAIDERS hanger~

“There you are!” Jaenna called out as Aeos and Decembrist made their appearance with the rest of the squad again. She stood with a blockpad in her hands, ticking with a small rectangular electronic pen on the screen names and equipment.  The hangar bay was small, and empty. It had seemed the shuttle was running late. Some of the squad members had seated themselves on the empty crates that lied around at their disposal while others maundered about, trying to pass their time with pacing. Jaenna met them halfway.

“Aeos, my apologies for the late introduction, I’m your squad-leader and the pleasant gal with the dark hair there next to Bloodhound is Havock, my second in command, if you don’t mind can I have a quick look at your data-“

~Present Day - Deep Space Repair Depot - N1 40 A~

"Ayme!"

Havock blinked and calmly looked over at her sister and scoffed, Aryanna looked completely frazzled. They had been looking everywhere for Aeos, but if there was one thing Ayme knew about her possibly older sister, if she didn't want to be found there wasn't a person in the galaxy that could find her. The brief glance was throwing her off though, it almost indicated some level of regret in her actions. Now that wasn't like Aeos, once that woman made a decision she committed to it with no hesitation. So why was she hesitating?

Whiskey paced in the small repair shop. "Did you see her or not Ayme? Dammit we need to go after her."

Jed laughed and shook his head. "Ary, I'm going to let you in on some background you don't remember about your sister there. She's stubborn and damn good at hiding. You're not going to find her, she will find you when she is ready. Havvie, help me find this exaust pipe so we can get you two back."

She stared blankly at the spot where Aeos had been for several more thoughtless moments before she turned to look at the pipes. "Yes those are lovely exaust pipes, too bad you need a coolant pipe." She shook her head sadly and grabbed Jed by the arm. "Come on lets get you to the right section before they take all your credits."

Her sisters had grown into fascinatingly broken women. Somehow Aryanna ended up being the only one to retain all of her memories. She could vaguely remember a life day with Zasati, then her parents sadness, and sometime after that the moving began and the memories became clearer. She had spent her adolecence shutting off her ability to feel just to find a way to deal with all the things she had lost, all the things the Black Sun took from her. She could see her mothers face again when she looked at Zasati and it about killed her.

~Ansion - 17 years ago - Katash House~

"Ary stop." Zee stood protectively in front of her youngest sister. "Ary I said stop it!" She pushed the older twin back to prevent her assault. She was deriving a huge amount of joy from poking her sister and making her cower in the corner, Zee had seen enough. The three sister's parents and their uncle were having one of their recently frequent grown up only talks. Zee had been trying to over hear it but had to protect Ayme, as usual.

Aryanna found some red and blue hover craft looking toy to amuse her so the battle appeared to be over for now. Zee turned to face the three year old sniffling behind her and rolled her eyes. "Ayme why do you let her do that?"

Ayme rubbed her nose and tried to look somewhat defiant as she clung to her legs. "She start it, she chasered me."

"Chased....and started." Zee sighed. "You need to learn to talk more grown up, or people will keep picking on you."

Ary kept watching as her two sisters continued to talk. She didn't understand why Zee always had to come in and protect Ayme like that, the girl was her twin and should have been her responsibility. She just never connected with Zee the way Ayme had, almost instantly the two of them understood exactly how to talk to each other they could practically calm each other down with a look, she would probably never get that. Maybe Aryanna was just better on her own.

~Present Day - Deep Space Repair Depot - N1 40 A~

"How in the hell could you be so calm?" Aryanna glared at her twin as they carried the coolant pipe that would replace the broken one in the passenger room of Jed's ship.

"Come one ladies, not much farther." Jed was a few paces ahead of them with the controls for the entry ramp in his hand. His eyes continued to dart around for any sign of Aeos, but he didn't hold out much hope for catching a glimps of her. The girl needed time to process what was going on, so many things she had lost were now found whether she wanted to deal with them or not. At least it seemed as though Zasati and Ayme had gotten to know each other again. Those two were always close, he tried not to think about how Ayme must have been when he took Zee and never came back.

It made Jed sad to find Zasati only to lose her all over again. Some part of him knew that she would be fine eventually, which was  security he didn't have the first time he lost her on Raxus Prime. She would need some answers one day, and when she was ready thats when he would see her again. Jed could live with that, not to mention he still had a pair of twins that were quite a handful on their own.

A short laugh escaped Havock's lips. "Its Aeos, she's fine Ary."

The twins dropped the pipe in the passenger room and Havock immediately climbed up and started to work on removing the cracked pipe. Aryanna crossed her arms and let her eyes scan the room slowly. She noticed that Zasati had left all of her stuff in the room, could she be planning to come back? "Hey she left her possessions Ayme, maybe she's just going to meet us."

"Stuff? Heh, oh Ary your funny." Havock kept on working cursing softly as the hydrospanner in her hand pinched her soft skin. "Damn I need gloves." She shook her hand and noticed the perplexed look on her twins face. "Why would anyone care about stuff? Its stuff, you can get more if its so damn important to you."

Havock stood straight and tossed the hydrospanner flipping it in the air a few times as she thought to herself. "Wait, Jaenna and I had this discussion. Ary I don't understand the need to hold on to things, I only kept things I could keep on me growing up. Between the streets and the orphanage and we won't even talk about the year with the Black Sun."

"She's right, her room back at Retathorn is practically barren, and whats in there is a blasted mess." Jed spoke absently from the doorframe.

"Oh yea the cleaning thing...I'm still working on that too." She winced and turned back to the pipe.

Jed smirked. "Poor Jaenna, that woman is a saint."

Havock let the hydrospanner drop to her leg just before she shot her uncle a death glare. Aryanna was trying to contain her laughter as she continue to serve as the new pipes warden. "I'm loving this already." Havock said sourly but with some measure of humor behind the words.

They had another hour or so of repairs then they would be on their way. There was no reason to stall, Aeos would not be joining them. She would show up on Tadath some time later to continue to deny the things they had learned. The future was going to be a fascinating place for them all to live in, it was like having a whole new life. Havock wasn't sure how she felt about that, but she never really was one to dwell on feelings it was more important just to jump in and do what you have to do with what was thrown at you. It almost seemed like someone had told her that once, she just shook her head and got back to work.
