Not bad. Try to keep it closer to being symmetrical in future sketches, though; it's rather glaring in the current one.

It can be a good idea to use grid paper for this sort of thing- it really helps when it comes to keeping it symmetrical.

I think it looks very good, even though it's not symmetrical. It looks like a masterpiece compared to what I could manage. TRN/PVT Skarr/.SQD/.PLT/1COM/1BAT/1RGT/VEA/VE/

Everyone else has been complementing you. Them saying that the symmetry is off is something call critique. If you don't want any of that, don't post your stuff on here. Methinks he was mainly pointing out that a more diplomatic tone ought to be used with someone you don't yet know really well.

Star, I think you might have been a tad bit harsh on the guy
I'll go with what Sam said.
It's a good start and might have alot of potential.
Whoever suggested grids, yes. I'd definetely recommend it for you to use. You lose the essence of your object being an helmet due to the lack of the symetry in it, which already has been said.
For the visor glasses, take a pair of sunglasses and see how the light reflects on it. While its not symmetrical, there is definitely a line in how the light runs.
Otherwise good start, those gold designs if properly executed can look damn awesome.
