Actually, it brings back memories...In the past, back during the time of Phoenix Wing, the active squadrons all had sets of banners: one each for FMs, FLs, SXO, and SCO, and one base banner for the squadron. That's something I'd be very interested in seeing again.

If you, or any other interested member, is willing to create some banners, I'll pay out 25,000 ICs for each (Th only caveat being that I be able to make design suggestions after seeing the first draft.). All the old banners are preserved in past posts, so if you pull up the old Phoenix Wing discussion topic or the old squadron topics you should be able to find examples of the old ones.

Here are the banners I'd like to see:

Nightshrike Squadron - FM, FL, SXO, SCO, and squadron (5 total)
Tuk'ata Squadron - FM, FL, SXO, SCO, and squadron (5 total)
Regents Squadron - FM, FL, SXO, SCO, and squadron (5 total)
Javelin Wing (1 total)
Dovahkiin Wing (1 total)
ISD-II Halcyon Warrior - SCAP, XO (2 total)

Total possible payout: 475,000 ICs

If there's room, it'd be great to include unit mottos on the unit banners, as you have with Tuk'ata. List of mottos:

Tuk'ata: Loyal Beyond Death.
Regents: Our Reign, Your Pain.
Javelin: Tip of the Spear.
Dovahkiin: Hunters of Legend.
Warrior: Serenity and Lethality.

Once these are posted I heartily encourage everyone to include any that apply to you in your own signatures. They'll be free for use by anyone.

Width:  480 pixels
Height:  100 pixels

Obviously, anything smaller than those sizes are fine.

The max size of the signature image is 25k bytes.

Good work! For future reference, though, don't forget to include your word count at the bottom of the post, like Ryn and I did.

Getting started on a reply now. We'll be able to move onto something fun now that the introductions are done.

There's a 500 word minimum per RP posts, in order to ensure quality doesn't drop too low. The Word Count saves Drac the trouble of checking everyone's posts personally to make sure they're not below the limit.

If it's up to me, I'd just as soon get to some flying.

Aside from the lack of dying if you screw up, writing simulator combat doesn't differ appreciably from writing 'real' dogfights. So if you guys want to head that direction, I'm sure Dunny will be happy to throw out a scenario or two for you to deal with.

I apologize for my unexplained absence - that evil temptress that is real life threw me a curve ball. I'm back now, though.

OKAY, so, let's get down to business:

I see that Ryn has consistently posted reports and kept up activity through the Surprise story. Excuse the language, but bloody good work! It's hard to keep motivated when your leader buggers off, and you've been an example of how to do it right.

Expect shinies.

We also have a new member: Welcome to Ryuno! Oh god, Ryn, Ryuno, I can forsee some embarrassing communications errors ahead. Regardless, good to have a new member on the team. if you've any questions, feel free to ask.

Right, missions and stuff:

Since Drac's big do hasn't started yet, I'll throw down another post in the Tuk'ata mission to move things forward to some simulator action. Since Nightshrike's leader is even less active than I am, I'll be inviting them along for the ride.
