Background:
“Slower Pier, you’re moving too quickly, you’re going to lose your balance…” and with that, the young Kuati fell to the floor, his classmates laughing. Tessa, the instructor, sighed and turned to the rest of the class: “you must always remember, it is not your speed as much as your accuracy and fluidity of movement. You are mastering your body as your weapon” Tessa checked the clock, “it’s time for lunch. Please return promptly in one hour; and perhaps you should all think about the lesson we just learned from Pier so you can avoid the same embarrassment.” Turning sharply, Tessa exited the classroom without another word.

When she reached her expansive living quarters on the second floor, she bypassed the area she used as her office and went out to the large patio where she found her lunch waiting for her, exactly as she had ordered it done. She tasted the soup and immediately spat it out; turning to the domestic she knew would be cowering in the corner, “this soup is as cold as a Hoth rock! Take it away, and tell cook if he sends me cold food again it will be the last food he prepares here.” 'Ye-yes ma’am, so sorry, I should have tested it before….'Tessa stopped her before she could continue, “Don’t be silly Do’bri, it’s cooks responsibility to make sure the food is hot, not yours.” Do’bri gathered up the lunch tray and started to scurry away, but Tessa called to her before she could reach the doorway. Smiling and in a kind, soft voice, she said “Do’bri, after you deliver my instructions to cook, you can have the rest of the day off; and you will find something extra for you in your pay packet. Oh, and Do’bri, Happy Birthday. You are really such a help to me and I appreciate all that you do.” Tessa was demanding, and not always tactful or nice, but she knew to take care of those who worked for her – loyalty could indeed be bought. Do’bri thanked her profusely and left as quickly as possible, afraid something else would anger Tessa and she might change her mind.

Tessa walked to the edge of the patio looking out over the common area where her students had gathered to eat and socialize. Watching them laugh and enjoying one another’s company she thought to herself, enjoy your youth and carefree days now. I was once young and carefree too…..Tessa’s mind wandered to the days she was as happy and carefree as the students she was now observing...

Tessa Fenn was born on Thyrsus but raised mostly on Coruscant where her family moved when she was 15 after her father was selected to serve in the Emperor’s Royal Guard. Life on Coruscant had been ordinary. Her father, an expert in the Echani Art had trained Tessa and her sister Shila very well in the art also. The Echani Art had been the lifeblood of the Fenn clan for hundreds of years, and her grandfather ran the very successful Academy of Echani on Kuat. Tessa’s father Lorth left Kuat when he was 16 after a violent argument with his father over the Sun Guard of Thyrsus, which Tessa’s dad saw as the historically pure Echani. After joining the Sun Guard on Thyrsus, Lorth married Attia, and they had two daughters.

In 4 ABY Tessa had just finished her post-graduate work in engineering at university. For graduation her parents had given her a trip to Tirahnn. As excited as she was to go, she was disappointed nonetheless when she couldn’t go with her mother and sister to see her dad aboard the marvel that was the Death Star II. Her father was on what was supposed to be a long deployment. As a member of an elite group, family visits were occasionally allowed. The night before she was scheduled to depart for her trip, her dad had called to tell her to have a good time; and that he was sorry she would miss what was turning out to be the destruction of the Rebel Alliance. But fate had dealt her a hard blow, and in a flash, her entire family was gone, murdered by the treasonous rebel scum when the Death Star II was destroyed.

Tessa gave up her plan to become part of the Engineering Corps because she certainly was not going to serve and support this new illegitimate government in any way. So she went to live on Kuat with her grandfather, the only family she had left. Once there she immersed herself in the Echani Art and became an instructor at her grandfather’s highly esteemed Academy of Echani. Her grandfather died unexpectedly 6 months after she arrived, but in an amazingly short time,  Tessa had taken over and turned the school into an enterprise that was as profitable as it was lauded.

Tessa views the Empire as the  onlylegitimate government, and therefore would recognize no other and would do whatever necessary to support it. Most recently she had been contacted to serve the Empire and she had been making preparations to leave the Academy behind. In her opinion there was no one qualified enough to take over the school. No matter. Almost none of her students were worthy of learning Echani anyway. They were all rich Kuati kids who wanted to be involved with the latest fad, which for the past few years had been Echani. Not that she could complain too much, because these spoiled rich kids of the Kuati aristocracy had made her quite wealthy in her own right. But she no longer needed them or their money. She now had a higher purpose in life.

Snapping out of her daydream, she looked down again at her students who were still laughing and enjoying themselves. No doubt some of that laughter is directed at making fun of me. She knew what her students said about her behind her back and what they thought of her. She didn’t care. Besides, it probably wasn’t half as bad as her opinion of them anyway.

Time to put her plan into action.

Returning to the main floor, Tessa pushed the bell to alert the students it was time to return to class. She had deliberately used the control panel by the front door, in clear view of the security camera. As the students began to fill the classroom again, Tessa had quietly slipped out a first floor window unnoticed. When she reached the edge of the forested area that surrounded the academy, she stopped to take one last look. Do’bri was the only one she had remotely cared about since her grandfather had passed away, and she was glad it had been her birthday so as to have had a good reason to send her home early. Looking at her watch she was sure all the students had returned to the classroom by now. She took the remote out of her pocket and pushed the button and watched as the academy was blown into a million pieces of burning flesh and debris that would be impossible to identify. Tessa turned and disappeared into the forest.
This time she didn’t look back.

Chapter II - The Post

Training missions bored Tessa Fenn.  Necessary though they were, nothing compared to the heat of a real battle. She was almost finished with the last maneuver in a tedious training exercise in the remote Rothana section of the Corellian Run when a slight blip on her sensors caught her attention alerting her to the presence of an incoming E-Wing fighter bearing in hard and fast from the left. But before she had time to react, she took a hit to the port side of her TIE, jolting the ship to the right. Instead of fighting it and trying to level out, she used the momentum to take a sharp right break turn. The E-Wing’s airspeed was too fast to break with her, forcing itself to take a barrel roll far out of its flight path.  Leveling out of the turn, Tessa was able to get into a good lag pursuit position. Matching the E-Wing’s velocity and turn rate, she stayed in the blindspot and beneath its tail.  The enemy pilot knew she was back there and tried to scissor her loose, but Tessa stayed on him. Too close to use targeting sensors and missles, Tessa quickly linked up her blasters and fired right into one of the foils, causing the E-Wing to begin spinning out of control and  incapacitating its maneuverability. It made precise targeting more difficult but the ship was now hers to destroy. She finished it off with a direct shot at the cockpit, banked left, and headed home.

This week I have created my character bio and completed Chapters I and II of training.

My plan for the coming week is to create a character wiki page and complete as many training assignments as possible. I will also continue to explore the site in order to learn as much as possible about VE.

Passed. Though, as I had told you, you didn't need to include the squadron as you aren't in one yet. Now that you have passed through Flight Training, you need to be placed. You may have to wait a day or two for this part.

So was the only incorrect part including Nazgul?

A more correct term of address would be "Sir". one can only address another by their rank if one is of equal or higher rank. unless it's used in greeting, but still... you rarely see someone address a lieutenant by rank... by definition it means a bit... belittling. i'm just ranting.
