  A nice vacation, hah!

The cargo bay was quiet as he loaded the last container inside his SC-19 Florian. He was on leave now and thought a nice peaceful vacation would do his nerves well. He could remember the last several vacations he had went on, and all of them had ended rather badly.

Walking back into his house he looked around and sighed. He lived in a three bedroom, three story monstrosity. The only other intelligent living thing within miles was his strill Lurk, who was curled up drooling on his rather expensive floor length leather jacket.

Shaking his head he walked over to the chair and began strapping on his weapons belt that held his R1-A Particle Magnum, and both his saber knives. Reaching over he poked Lurk gently, she grumbled with her usually half purr growl she was known for, and continued sleeping.

Closing his eyes he said after a moment "Time to go Lurk." In a very quiet voice. A split second later she jumped up straight into the air, using the few seconds available he snatched his Jacket off the chair and slipped it on.

He tapped his comlink as it beeped a few seconds later. "Go ahead." he said as Lurk floated slowly down and landed on his shoulder.

"I'm pulling up now, I just saw three other speeders on their way here. Looked like a few of our friends, I heard there is some big party planned at whomevers house they can get their hands on." Helena said. Joamer walked outside as her cargo speeder landed next to his ship.

"Better load fast then." Joamer said as he popped open the cargo door and began moving items into the ship. Helena joined him a second later with an armload of various items. "Your vacations never go well either?" He said as he saw what he knew to be weapons cases.

She smiled as she walked back outside and grabbed another case. He reached down into the speeder and grabbed the last one just as another strill narrowly dodged his head and landed on Helena's shoulder. He felt Lurk instantly couch down and begin growling.

"Knock it off Skira." Helena said as she loaded the last box into the ship. "Same goes for you Lurk." She said with a half smile. Lurk grumbled softly but settled down, Helena was one of only a few people she liked enough to listen to.

Hitting a button on his comlink Joamer walked into the ship and sat down at one of the two flight seats. Hitting a few buttons he heard the Ionic core begin to power up. After a minute Helena walked in and sat down.

"Speeder is locked up, so is the outer hatch. What about your house, did you lock up already?" Helena said as she began strapping in.

"Part of my security system, all I have to do is hit a button on my comlink and the house goes into lock down. I'll pay the person who manages to break inside." Joamer said as he engaged the repulsorlifts.

He looked up to see three speeders fast approaching. He waited for a long moment before he saw his comm buzzing, hitting it he said "What do you want to borrow this time?"

He heard a soft laughter on the other end as a familiar voice said "Just your house man. We need a place for the party."

"You can have it if you can get inside." Joamer said as he engaged the throttle and shot off towards space.

"That is no far, your bloody security system is evil!" Said another voice. Joamer laughed for a long moment before he switched off the comlink.

"Alright, so you mind telling me where we are going? I get a call two days ago saying I look like I need a vacation, then I'm told to suddenly pack my things for someplace cold." Joamer said as he watched the ship exit the atmosphere.

"Head towards the Kessel sector. Little planet there called Rion, I heard it's a paradise." Helena said softly.

Joamer grunted to himself but keyed in the nav computer. He looked over to see Helena smiling to herself as he pulled back the hyperspace controls. The star field stretched out as the ship shot off leaving Tadath behind.

A soft smile stretch across her face as she imagined the paradise vacation she’d been waiting for. She hoped at least this time something wouldn’t go wrong, but she was equipped if necessary. Skira purred briefly as she hopped into her lap, closely followed by a quick growl as it locked eyes with Lurk.

Joamer was quick to pull Lurk into his arms and stroke her affectionately. Helena simply smiled, petting Skira, and turning to Joamer.

“I forget they haven’t seen each other since birth. Could be some hatred going on there. Anyway, How have you been keeping since you know… The whole situation. I don’t like to ask unless it’s in person.” She softly spoke, her eyes displaying some reassurance.

He simply looked down at Lurk, obviously still sore on the subject and not wanting to talk about it just yet. Maybe Helena could get into his emotion system whilst on the trip.

The sight of the stars racing past them in streaks made it more homely for her as she sat back in the co-pilot’s chair. It was just the two of them which seemed a little strange to her. Normally it was either as a squad or a few others were with them.

The lack of small conversation was beginning to make the atmosphere sharp. So spinning her chair to face Joamer she placed a soft hand on his free shoulder.

“Things will look up for you eh? This is partly why I’ve pulled you on this vacation. It’ll do you good” she smirked, readjusting her holster on her leg for some more comfort.

The last time they were together it was a little awkward, and wasn’t the best of situations to really be bonding. Even though Helena really wants to get close to him, she knows there’s a line she’d be crossing. Havock had chosen who to be with, and  Helena would still be messing with Joamer’s feelings. Something she didn’t want to be meddling with. He’d had enough to worry about without Helena messing.

A smooth hovering sound could be heard behind the pair. Her face dropped in shock as a servant droid came baring a drink list.

“What? Got to travel in style eh?” He smirked, requesting a Corellian Whiskey shortly after.

Helena smiled, reading the list and instantly locking her eyes on Peach Schnapps. She licked her lips and nodded to the droid excitedly. She casted her mind back to one of the balls. She’d been alone at this one and Joamer came over to briefly to keep her company, and buying her her favourite drink which happened to be the schnapps. She’d not drank it since and she thought it was sweet of him to remember it.

The droid hurried back with a tray carrying the two ice cold glasses filled with the different coloured liquids. Helena got up from the chair, hugging Joamer for remembering and giving him a friendly peck on the cheek. Taking the glass from the tray, she sat back down and brought the glass up to her pursed lips in contentment.
