Well, it's finally that time - after 9 years.

I joined on September 15, 2000, and am now retiring on September 27, 2009.

Retiring is something I never wanted to do, but I was recently hired into a marketing firm that requires 10-hour days, 6-days a week. I've tried to push through it the first three days and get online, but I leave at around 7:40am, stand and talk to people all day long, and return home at 8:30pm (about a one-hour drive each way) - and, needless to say, I'm exhausted both mentally and physically. I just don't have the time to plan and write anymore, and staying on as Prefect would just be unfair to everyone in the Corps because I know you guys need someone consistent - especially with the changes that we've just recently gone through.

Everyone buy Rizzit a drink, because he's going to be your new Prefect.

In terms of thanking individuals:
Kad/Tal/Fury - you guys have been my soundboards, and I very much appreciate all of your advice. I couldn't have gone as far as I did in the Corps without using you guys as a guide.

Rizzit - we've most definitely gone through a lot together, and I can't think of anyone better (or more deserving of this position) than you.

Angel - you've most definitely been a voice of reason around here, and your advice has been invaluable. You ran our second ESC with flying colors, and you're most definitely the driving force of the Army. Thank you for your dedication.

Sam/Aeos - These are two names that no one should ever forget. You guys have always been around in one form or another, and have always put 100% into everything you do. I'm pretty damn proud to have you guys in a command position.

To the Corps as a whole: it's been a privilege being your Prefect. I would have loved to have spent another 9 years leading you guys through more HSCs, IOCs, and ESCs, but sometimes real life just doesn't agree with that plan.


I never truly want to be parted from the VE because it's been such an integral part of my life - I'll be in the Advisors section of the roster until I can either think up a new position or get used to my hectic schedule and be able to do something productive.

Good luck old friend as you said: it has been fun. Something tells me our paths will cross again in the not too distant future, but until such a time comes good luck with your job.

Good luck with wherever life takes you Cos, you were the person that lead me through the academy three and a half years ago, and offered me some pretty sound advice too.

I've spent the last 7 years with you around, you were my SL when I first joined, and I've served under you in the DJO for 6 years. Every moment of that has been a pleasure and an honor. You will be sorely missed by all that have served with you. I do hope you will find time to come onto IRC and chat with us.
