Planetary orbit over VarneckRobert "Daishi" Lee found himself in the cargo hold of Freighter 3 of Task Force
Death's Nest staring at the special cargo that the Fallen Angels had pulled off Gauss.
"You sure you want to do this?" A female voice behind him broke the silence with a slight echo.
"Yes. I am still needed but *I* am no longer capable." Daishi replied.
"You are damn lucky I can do this. Remind me how you convinced me again?" The other voice chided.
"Simple, after you killed the other me and stopped to think about it you knew I was right and our children needed a father. Plus as horrible as I may have been we few survivors of Varneck need to stick together not kill each other. Plus you know as well as I do that you'll have your revenge anyway in about 10 years or so without having to lift a finger. On top of that I'm entrusting you with the transfer and I know your capabilities are sufficient for the task and even do some filtering if you choose to my dear sweet Neeman." Daishi answered.
"Damn I hate it when you are right. Why not have your wife do this again?" Neeman Culpman asked as she stepped next to Daishi.
"For one I doubt she has the self control and discipline. The other is if she did getting her to stop at one would be impossible. As much as I love her she can be quite the handful." Daishi answered.
"Sir we are ready. As you have requested this will be as close to a duplicate of you as we can manage at the age of twenty. Unfortunately due to the process we won't be able to jack up the gravity to preserve your full strength and speed but the encoded genetics will still keep an unpredictable amount." Reginold Greyscuttle Daishi's right hand man reported from down in the cargo hold.
"All right Neeman. Now is the time." Daishi prepared himself.
The Spaati Cloning Cylinder began the growth acceleration cycle as Neeman gave the new clone everything she felt she dared that made Robert Lee Robert Lee. The full memories of the man that had been her instructor, lover, enemy, and now something else entirely startled her. Only then did she fully understand everything he did. She was ashamed to admit in that instant despite how twisted his logic seemed it made sense in this universe and this conflict in particular.
Moving forwardTalon immediately sensed something was off about his office as soon as he entered. He sensed something familiar but he could not immediately place it. It wasn't danger, nor any real malicous intent.
His chair had been disturbed but showed no signs of tampering.
Then he realized what it all meant.
"Sonnova crap..."
