I seem to be having a problem with mIRC and javachat my mIRC finally expired to the point where I can't just say continue, something like 650 days. So I deleted it; downloaded the newer version which is supposed to work. After filling in the servers and stuff it doesn't work properly, just won't connect.

So I move on to Jchat to see if I can speak to someone who would know about this and Jchat won't connect for some reason or another. Hence I'm posting this, anyone know anything I don't?

Java chat auto connects to irc.vastempire.com, which is down right now. To fix it just type:

Code: Select all: /server irc.holonet.org

That should connect you to the holonet server with java chat.

Just pointing out that I've had the same problem with the newest version of mIRC.

*shrugs*

Edit - although maybe it's something else, because Jchat won't work for me either (and yes, I'm trying to connect to the Holonet). I get the same message: 'connection refused'.
