Level Four, Story Two

Rogueboy rolled to his knees, his A-280 coming up to his shoulder and he looked down the mini-scope taking his time to align the black crosshairs with the enemies dark green stained uniform. The enemy popped down behind a fallen tree for cover. Looking around to make sure that no enemy was taking a bead on him RB decided to play the camping game.

Sure enough after approximately thirty seconds of waiting the enemy popped up and Rogueboy put a blaster bolt through his chest. The enemy slumped over the fallen tree, it wasn’t an instant kill but he would be claimed by death’s icy embrace in a few short minutes.

Raising his arm Rogueboy yelled out. “I got him! The sniper’s down.”

“Good job, over the next rise is a small village full of NR sympathizers. They might not take fire at us, however they will have weapons and money which we’re going to need to confiscate.” Senior Sergeant Frodo Baggins said.

“Sir, what are we going to do with the weapons, we do not have a supply train or anything.” Private Samwise asked.

“Worry about that when we get there private.” The SSGT stated.

The squad of seven men moved up over the rise, tall grass stalks brushing their plastoid armour as they did so. A walled village slowly appeared before the squad, a watchtower started ringing an alarm bell. “Gandalf, silence that fool would you?” Frodo ordered of his sniper.

The shot from the sniper rifle rang out, blood misted out from the person in the watchtower before he keeled over the wooden railing and landed somewhere in the village. A few more clangs and the bell stopped ringing.

The squad moved closer towards the village, the wooden gates had not been shut suggesting that the villagers knew resistance would be futile. An elderly man clothed in homespun cloth met the imperials at the gates. “Hello, Imperials my name is...”

The man was cut off as assistant squad leader Sauron used the butt end of his rifle to indent the man’s face before putting him in a head lock and dragging him into the small village. “Listen up you motherless children of strills!” Frodo yelled out before continuing. “I want everyone outside of the huts now! Anyone found inside will be shot.”

Faster than lightspeed the houses emptied and everyone was standing outside. “Rogueboy, and Sauron I want you guys inside the houses looking for weapons and trap doors, you know what to look for.”

The two soldiers nodded before moving into the first house which was made of wood as was the tradition on this planet. Sauron kicked open the door, splintering the wood behind it. The duo rushed into the house, the first room was the kitchen and Rogueboy started going through every one of the cupboards looking for anything that might constitute a weapon. A wailing echoed from one of the rooms signalling that a baby had been left in its crib.

Rogueboy ignored the screams but Sauron decided to yell back. “Shut up you disgusting creature.” He screamed at the infant.

“Let it go, man.” Rogue said in an attempt to console the older infant.

The wailing continued unabated for a few more minutes before finally Sauron couldn’t take it anymore and charged towards where the room was. There was a clattering of wood on wood and the sound of a bones popping and crunching. Needless to say there was no more screaming, as Rogueboy searched the kitchen he stumbled onto something, quite literally he tripped over a tile that was slightly higher than the other tiles. A closer inspection showed that this tile was actually not mortared to the subfloor, and after lifting the half metre by half metre tile it showed that there was no sub floor beneath it. Reaching his hand inside the hole Rogueboy pulled out a keycard. Searching the rest of the house had been fruitless, and so the duo had moved on.

At about the third or so house they had found a cellar door hidden underneath a carpet, using the keycard had opened the door with a loud mechanical hiss the door opened. As soon as Sauron and Rogueboy walked in they were greeted with a huge underground room that had racks on three of the walls, and weapons filling these racks. “I’m going to get the boss.” Sauron announced.

“I guess that leaves me with getting this in order.” Rogueboy muttered.

“What was that? Listen to me you worthless piece of shit, just because Raider squad loved your sorry ass doesn’t mean we feel so inclined. Get the shit together so when I bring down Frodo this stuff better become familiar to you so’s you can explain it to him.” With that Sauron turned on his heel and strode out of the room.

Doing a quick survey, Rogueboy came to the quick conclusion that most of these weapons were in fact slugthrowers and that most of them were semi-automatics. Picking up an MP5 RB looked down the sight of the weapon and checked the clip inside of it; the gun was fully loaded, checking a few more showed that all of the guns in the room were most likely fully loaded. There was a box of grenades under a rack of short sub-machine slugthrowers. Rogueboy pulled out one of these grenades and held it up to the light; it felt right in terms of weight and the pin was in showing that this was in fact no fake grenade.

The sound of blaster fire greeted Rogueboy’s ears and he quickly put the grenade down and started running up the stairs swinging his rifle around as he did so. As soon as his feet touched the wood surface of the floor above, RB made a mad dash towards the doorway. No sooner did he reach the doorway when his rifle slammed into his chest driving the air out of his lungs. Quickly moving to the side of the doorway Rogueboy checked his weapon, his tibanna gas chamber had started to leak making the weapon more of a threat than anything else.

Running as fast as he could Rogueboy made his way back down to the cellar and started to arm himself, a safe assumption that his entire squad was dead would not be considered unrealistic. Grabbing four grenades RB looped them through his belt as fast as he could, grabbing two MP5s, Rogueboy pulled the clips out and put them in a small pack he had on his belt, grabbing two more MP5s, he felt he was ready.

Rushing back up the stairs and at the doorway he could hear the armed peasants talking amongst themselves. “Did we get them all?” A man’s voice said.

“I had counted seven.” A woman’s voice said before continuing. “Animals that they are, they shot Aragorn just for ringing the damn bell.”

“I could have sworn there were seven as well.” Another voice muttered. “Did someone check the house?”

Tugging on a grenade the pin slid out, with the grenade in hand, and pin on his belt Rogueboy rolled the grenade to the front of the house. “What’s that?” The first man voice said.

“It’s a gr....” The explosion cut off the woman’s sentence.

A barrage of slugs started to hit the house, the shattering of a window, the zings of bullets hitting wood, and of course the loud thrower sounds themselves were a crescendo of noise. Waiting until the firing stopped Rogueboy made his move, wagering heavily that they were all out of ammo. Running past the small hallway RB slid on the floor with his knees to the door, he was slightly blinded by the sunlight for an instance. Time seemed to stop as the villagers stared at the white stormtrooper on both knees with dual sub-slugthrowers. Squeezing the trigger Rogueboy decided to unleash all the fiery pent up rage he had held in check during his one week placement with the squad. “Rogueboy go clean the latrines. Rogueboy go check the weapons. Rogueboy go get the squad’s rations. Rogueboy, Rogueboy, Rogueboy.” It seemed that just because he was the newest addition to the squad everyone had felt the right to pick on him. Now that they were all dead he no longer had to listen to those piss heads.

The all too familiar sound of an empty clip greeted Rogue’s ears, looking around all he could see was death and blood. Not all the enemies were dead, a few of them had been cautious and had stayed back. Dropping his two slugthrowers Rogueboy scrambled to his feet, pulling out his blaster pistol as he did so. A slugthrower round hit the wall right next to Rogueboy and he turned around firing, pulling another grenade from his belt RB stopped and threw it with as much force as he could muster.

The grenade exploded and killed three more people, glancing around trying to find the exit was proving to be a lot harder from the inside than it did from the outside. Someone started opening fire on Rogueboy from a balcony, scooping down Rogueboy picked up a slugthrower pistol and using both his blaster pistol and slugthrower he opened fire on the youth until his limp body fell through the window.

Turning the next bend caused Rogueboy to stop to a halt, just before him stood the big wooden gates however they had been closed. Running into a tall but small building revealed a ladder that connected the floor to the narrow walkway that helped serve as a small defensive fort. Climbing over the wall Rogueboy dropped the four metres and started to run towards safety.

Once he was in the safety of the trees Rogueboy knew he would need to move to the Northeast as that was where the nearest VE controlled base was, and since his comlink only worked for a distance of two hundred kilometres he would need to walk quite a distance before he got in contact with the base.

It was night time before Rogueboy was finally able to get in range with someone from the VE army, they scheduled him a pick up and a bombing run on the town.
