Bonjour!

Welcome to the Vast Empire Navy, Crewman.

I am Ensign Bacredi, Naval Training Officer for the Vast Empire Navy, I will be helping you here today.

You have just completed Imperial Initiation by posting your welcome message here, the Vast Empire Navy congratulates and welcomes you for that. Now, the next step in your training is to start FlightSchool and post your character biography. This biography will (and should) be a rough outline of your characters history.

In your biography, you will need to list the following (just copy and paste):

Code: Select all
= Physical Appearance =
Homeworld:
Age:
Species:
Native Language:
Gender:
Skin Color:
Height:
Weight:
Hair Color:
Facial Hair:
Eye Color:
Scars:
Tattoos:

== Character’s Background ==
(Give me 1-2 solid paragraphs with information on your character’s past. Using a large amount of detail isn’t necessary, but if you feel like you want to, go ahead.)

== Personality ==
(Just write about what your character’s personality is. Make him/her interesting!)

Our method of writing here in the Vast Empire Navy (and the Vast Empire) is to write in third person. Please do so. If you have any questions, feel free to ComNet PM myself for guidance. Good day!

= Character’s Background =

Like many of his kinsmen, Vok was employed by the SoruSuub corporation for the first twelve years of his adult life. After graduating from the SoruSuub Business Academy on Sullust, Vok's talents were analyzed to decide where he might best serve the galaxy-spanning corporation. After several aptitude tests (which all members of the SoruSuub corporation are required to complete), it was determined that Vok possessed a strong affinity for starships and a natural tendancy to assume leadership roles. He was quickly ushered into the Special Purposes branch of the Transport Services Division. While sounding relatively benign, the Special Purposes branch was in truth a front for a militant unit of the SoruSuub Corporation. With better training and better equipment than the standard Sullustan Home Guard, the Special Purposes branch handled the assignments that SoruSuub felt the general populace of Sullust didn't need to know about.

It was a hard life, but at the same time relatively satisfying. SoruSuub paid the members of the SPB well, and the indoctrination of the SoruSuub Business Academy ensured that the members of the SPB had no qualms about the missions they carried out. Meanwhile, Vok advanced quickly through the various ranks and positions of the SPB, eventually rising to the rank of Lieutenant and serving as a flight commander in the Ash Angel Group, a group named after and inspired by the Ash Angels of Sullust. Serving as the secret police of the SoruSuub corporation, the Ash Angels were known for their unwavering loyalty to SoruSuub and for their zeal in carrying out their duties.

For two years Vok carried out his duties with a perfect performance record. He recorded a total of fourteen kills during his time with SoruSuub, earning several special commendations. Then, disaster struck.

The SoruSuub corporation, which had by this time allied itself with the Empire and had completely taken over the government of Sullust, was infiltrated by Alliance operatives. These operatives stirred anti-Imperial leanings, leading to a coup within SoruSuub. Vok, along with most of the Ash Angels, were identified as loyalists to the pro-Imperial regime, and as such were targeted for 'removal' almost immediately after the coup took place.

After watching several of his pilots and friends get slaughtered, Vok fled Sullust. As he left his homeworld he vowed revenge on those that had destroyed his life: the Rebels. He wandered the Galaxy for some time before coming across a group he felt might be able to help him achieve that goal. He joined the Vast Empire as soon as possible, immediately choosing the Navy over the Army.

= Personality =

The Sullustans are a naturally loyal race, seeking the improvement of their community over personal greed and gain. Lacking the traditional Sullustan/SoruSuub community, however, they can become quite opportunistic in their pursuits, at least until they manage to replace the close-knit society that is Sullustan life.

In his drive for vengeance, Vok has skipped the intermediate step of greed and opportunism, substituting the Vast Empire for his lost comrades among SoruSuub. Along with this substitution comes an instant acceptance of his comrades, and a friendly, carefree attitude. In short, Vok sees all members of the Vast Empire as family, or at least close friends. He is friendly and warm, and enjoys a good time as much as the next being.

However, Vok still harbors a deep sense of hatred for the Alliance, and the subsequent New Republic. Although he puts the needs of the Vast Empire (his new family) first and foremost, he is loathe to pass up any opportunity for vengeance.

Good to see that I'm learning something.

The Immelman - Neither a defensive nor offensive maneuver, the Immelman is used when a change in altitude and/or direction is needed. It consists of a high-thrust climb completed while rolling the ship along the x-axis. The result is that the pilot ends up at a higher (or lower) altitude (although in space this would simply be a different altitude) and pointed in the opposite direction. Supposedly.

The Sandwhich - This maneuver is a defensive, wingman oriented tactic. It is used when there's a bogey on one a friendly pilot and you want to make the bogey disappear without making the friendly pilot disappear. In short, another friendly pilot slots in behind the bad guy and blows him up, being careful not to blow up the friendly pilot in the process. It's a fairly simple maneuver, and one I'm not sure actually works in real combat.

Report, I'm too lazy to look up the date.

Activity: I did my bio, and the little maneuver assignment thingy, and now I'm making this report. I thought this was all pretty obvious since it's only a few posts above this one, but whatever.

Plans: More training that doesn't serve a purpose?

Questions/Comments: Do people actually fail this Flight School thing? Or learn anything, for that matter?

My ID line is something along the lines of:
