Bonjour!

Welcome to the Vast Empire Navy, Crewman.

I am Ensign Bacredi, Naval Training Officer for the Vast Empire Navy, I will be helping you here today.

You have just completed Imperial Initiation by posting your welcome message here, the Vast Empire Navy congratulates and welcomes you for that. Now, the next step in your training is to start FlightSchool and post your character biography. This biography will (and should) be a rough outline of your characters history.

In your biography, you will need to list the following (just copy and paste):

Code: Select all
= Physical Appearance =
Homeworld:
Age:
Species:
Native Language:
Gender:
Skin Color:
Height:
Weight:
Hair Color:
Facial Hair:
Eye Color:
Scars:
Tattoos:

== Character’s Background ==
(Give me 1-2 solid paragraphs with information on your character’s past. Using a large amount of detail isn’t necessary, but if you feel like you want to, go ahead.)

== Personality ==
(Just write about what your character’s personality is. Make him/her interesting!)

Our method of writing here in the Vast Empire Navy (and the Vast Empire) is to write in third person. Please do so. If you have any questions, feel free to ComNet PM myself for guidance. Good day!

Arthur Dragon was living on his homeworld for the first 20 years of his life working on ships learning how to fix them and fly them.  He hitched a ride on the first ship he could going as far as it would take him.  He got to the Naboo system when the captain asked if he would like to stay.  Arthur believe they only let him stay abroad because he could fix it and fly it when the rest of the crew got in trouble.  He decided to join the crew they did some runs in the mid-rim and outer-rims some were legal and some were not.  They also did some transport runs as well.  The crew got stuck in a Q7 tractor beam when he decided to join the Empire.  Arthur learned how to speak Basic in his travels he found it helped when he was asking or being asked to help in any matter.

The Split-S

The Split-S maneuver is a diving half-loop that you use when you disengage a threat.  The Split-S is used to increase airspeed or loose altitude.  You must have several thousand feet above the ground in order to do this maneuver.  Starting a split-S from low altitude, or too much speed during the dive, can prevent the aircraft from pulling out of the dive.

During a turn, roll to an invert, then immediately go into a dive. Your aircraft will rapidly accelerate and gain airspeed.  You want to level it out by pulling the stick back. You'll be un-inverted, and you'll have a higher airspeed and lower altitude when done correctly.  The split-S has the advantage of providing a quick burst of speed. On the down side the increased speed increases the vertical turning radius, making it harder to pull the nose up into level flight.  The split-S makes a great escape maneuver in a guns-only environment, but ineffective against missiles, since they have significantly longer range.

The Break Turn

You use the break turn to cut into someone's turn at a sharper angle or to acquire a target.  It is also used to throw an unsuspecting enemy off your tail or at least make him  work to shoot you down.  You initiate a break turn by turning sideways and pitching sharply so the craft is forced to turn at a sharper radius.  The idea behind a break-turn is simple get a sharper turn then the enemy.  If someone starts firing from behind go into a break turn and avoid the fire pretty easily, and probably some missiles as well.
