Ok, new ribbons I've been working on for the navy, can be used however you want, will have special squadron ribbons up soon.

anyway, without further ado:

Ground Action Ribbon 2nd Class


This is for a pilot or other Navy member who is involved in a ground combat, either in a Navy story, or in a joint Navy-Army story. This award would be awarded either by FL, SC, or the leading Army Officer involved in the story.

Ground Action Ribbon 1st Class


This is for a pilot or other Navy member who is involved in a ground combat action, either in a navy story, or in a joint Navy-Army story, and who performs above and beyond the call of duty, but not to the level deserving the Merit Cross 2nd Class

Database Contribution 2nd class

Awarded to someone who does an excellent job creating and/or maintaining a wiki page and/or website which is used either personally or on the Squadron level.

Database Contribution 1st Class

Awarded to someone who does an excellent job creating and/or maintaining a wiki page and/or website which is used above the squadron level.

I also have created a new ribbon to possibly replace the old Crusader's Laurel, it has 9 levels, rather than 4, and it had been requested that more levels be created.










This ribbon is designed so that we can probably create up to level 15 or so before running out of room and needing a redesign.
this would free up the 4 ribbons of the Crusaders Laurel for another use, I would recommend them being used now for 4 levels of the exhaustive efforts award. I have a database of a further 34 ribbons that can be modified and used if needed.

Arturus, I've actually been requested by Stormz to redo the Exam Ribbons, and add in the rest, here are the ones so far:

I am more fond of the first certification ribbons you had than your second set. The first set seems cleaner and looks better to me.

I would, and I in fact have a design I'm working on, but these were done under Ensign Stormz orders, I did in fact create a set of wings at one point, but they did not go over well.

Wow these are pretty cool. What do you have to do to be able to make these sort of things? I would love to try to make a couple even if they aren't over anything to important. I love making the images with gimp and stuff. I just haven't gotten a chance to do anything important with it yet.

And finally, the special surprise, I have a special edition for the "Captain's Own", this one is always worn, to show at what point in your career your squadron was the "Captain's Own". But is worn below your current one on your ribbon bars. These are currently done for Nazgul, but I will finish making ones for the other squadrons, starting with Kaph.

Ok, a clarification on how these ribbons are worn. Suppose that you have won the the Crusaders Laurel 5th level (my version) as well as the Wiki 2nd Class, and also have passed the AE with Distinction, and are also in Nazgul at this time while it is Captain's Own. your ribbons will look like this:



However after Nazgul is no longer the Captain's Own, even if it is still in the six month time period, you would wear the following:





You still wear the Ribbon showing you were in the Captain's own, but you keep it below the current ribbon you wear for you Squadron Tour.

Looks great Slasher.  For the level 1 CL can you add a thin gold bar on the right hand side so it is symmetrical?  Also, before we had the Captain's Own we used to have the title of elite for squadrons.  Could you make an elite squadron variant of the ribbon or shall we say that all who were in elite squadrons should treat it as Captain's Own squadrons.  I think either could work.

Do we have a Star of Valour ribbon yet?  That would be a good one to work on.

Also, for your idea of how medals are worn, would you agree that the long service medals should be on the top row as well?  Finally, how many would make sense in a row.  I'll suggest 6 but that's almost arbitrary.

Stormz' opinion non-withstanding (not that I really care anyways), I think the idea of a 'wing' design, or even your first design for the certification ribbons, is better than the first.

For id line purposes I propose the following for the squadron service ribbons:

NST:1
NST:2
NST:3
*NST:1*
*NST:2*
*NST:3*

Obviously this is the list for Nazgul.  Each number represents 6 months, and the ** is the designation for Captain's Own.  I also recommend that this be used for elite, so everyone who has served in Viper, Aegis, and Kaph when they were the elite squadron should use these as well.

On that point Slasher, could you please create a set for Aegis?  We have several current members who served in that squadron in the past.

Finally, are you planing to go beyond 18 months at all?

I was just about to say that.  I had mentioned the Star of Valour earlier, but we have a ribbon for that one.  The Cross of Bravery is the one we still need a ribbon for.

Also, if you have absolutely nothing to do later, check out of the Outer Rim War 3 page on the wiki.  There is a series of medals on there that need ribbons.

Why not?  You have for all of these.
