There are two open slots in Reaper. In order to fill them, we will be using an application process. The top two candidates will be accepted for positions within Reaper. Every few months we will re-evaluate Reaper and, in consultation with its members, determine if a new application competition is warranted.
Application Process:
Step 1:
In a comnet pm, send me a 1-2 page letter of application in which you state why you want to be in Reaper, what you can offer a covert operations unit such as Reaper, and why your career experience to date demonstrates you are the best person for the job.
Step 2:
Contact a former or current superior and request that they send a letter of recommendation to me via comnet pm, in which they detail why they believe your activity, writing skills, and overall leadership make you the best candidate for a spot in Reaper.
Step 3:
Write a story post of no more than 5,000 words and send this via comnet pm. In this story, your character has been sent to the city of Talyia on the planet Cerostos, which is currently occupied by a small Imperial faction (the city and planet are made up). Your task is to infiltrate the city and track down a suspected VE defector. It will be your task to design the defector, their appearance, personality, motivations, and background history. You will place him under surveillance and follow him to the location in which it is believed he is holding top secret documents stolen from VEN. Your objective is to elude local forces in the city (through stealth or disguise), reclaim the documents, and if possible, assassinate the defector in a manner that looks like an accident. For the purposes of expediency, you are in the city (though the cover you use is up to you), and you know the real-time location of your target. As part of this post you will not be required to write about leaving the planet unless you decide that you have been discovered and thus escape is part of the plot.
The gear, methods, description of the city, pitfalls and traps, strength of garrison, and any other relevant details are left entirely to your descretion. The objective of this story post is to analyze the quality of writing and detail, originality, realism (how much you do or do not god mode), and commitment to writing.
