"Okay, Alan I’m almost there, hold on. . . " Requiem spoke into his Comlink.
Hold on he saysI just hope none of these bombs decide to go off whilst we are holding on.
“What did he say?” asked Zeshaun.
“He said hold on” replied Alan.
Nova roared.
“You said it” replied Zeshaun, “hold on for what?”
“Keep working, they are doing their best” said Alan as he carried on defusing the bomb he was working on.
Nova let out a low growling noise.
“Uh-oh” said Zeshaun.
“What do you mean, uh-oh?” asked Alan, even though he didn’t really want to get the answer.
“Seems that Nova has triggered off one of the bombs and its counting down quickly” said Zeshaun as he looked at the bomb.
“Well cut the wire” said Alan, getting concerned.
“You don’t think we tried that” replied Zeshaun.
Now would be a good time Requiem thought Alan.
As if Requiem had been listening, the bombs all at once suddenly became inactive.
Thank the maker thought Alan.
“That was too close” commented Zeshaun.
Nova roared in agreement.
They gathered together all of the de-activated bombs and were soon joined by the rest of the squad.
“Good timing” said Alan when he spotted Requiem.
Requiem didn’t really understand by thanked Alan anyway.
“The bombs are defused, the bombers all dead and the Podracing about to start, sounds like a job well done” said Lucky.
“Indeed” replied Alan, “can we go home now?”
“Yes, let’s go home” added in Zeshaun.
“Right, everyone back to the ship, time to leave this frozen wasteland” said Lucky.
“But I want to see if my bet wins or not” objected Drakar.
The rest of the squad all laughed as they started to make their way back to the ship.
