Sighing in contempt Durandal knew there was nothing he could do but wait, and wait and wait for what seemed like an eternity he waited for his name to be called for review.
Finally after what seemed like forever they called upon him and he stood up quickly rubbing his hands down his pants to fix the wrinkles from having sat down so long and shook himself to try and get rid of the sore muscles.
The clerk behind the desk was a sergeant major, and seemed about as excited about her job as a bantha herder in the middle of the day. She accepted his papers and brushed over them, scanning his entire career in the blink of an eye, wait, two blinks. she pulled out a stamp immediately and started stamping dates on all the pages and looking through the database.
Durandal knew it was all up to her on what squad he was placed in, but most likely he would be placed in a squad he was already familiar with if there were any openings whatsoever.
She brusquely placed his papers in the giant filing cabinet behind her ad typed a few more things on the datapad before folding up a paper and and placing it in an envelope, handing it to Durandal.
"You'll be placed in Jester Squad, they just got back from a mission, but I suggest you hurry. they are leaving almost immediately for another, and they can very well use a good medic on the team." she said dully, turning aside and yelling for the next person in line as Durandal picked himself up and turned away.
Jester squad again? He couldn't be happier. He got to the door and ran to the barracks to get ready for the mission at hand.
Quickly he got to the familar Jester barracks and noticed no one was there so he donned on his scout trooper armor and stuffed a duffel bag full of medical equipment and weapons for the mission as well as food and water. Hoping to god he never used this much ammunition again.
With that he sped off to the docking station, and climbed aboard the shuttle just as they were getting ready to leave, he found himself almost amused as two other soldiers followed right behind him, at least he wasn't the only 'new arrival' to the team.
