 Usually my postings are fiction only and have to do with the VE, but today will be a little diffrent. It will be true and have nothing to do with the Vast Empire, and I don't think that it will have a happy ending! Seeing this is true though, I would appreciate as much help with it as I can get. Please post only about the story, no comments to me or anyone else please! This is serious! And here is my tale of horror...
Early this morning around 8:30 AM four planes were hijacked from Logan Airport in Boston, Massachusetts after the planes were in the air. Two of these planes were then directed to crash into the towers of the US Trade Center in New York City. The ambulances and rescue squad had arrived in the building to evacuate the people. They managed to get in and the building collapsed! One of the other two crashed down somewhere in Pennslyvania! It is believed that it was intended to crash into the Pentagon. In Washington DC, The remaining of the four planes was ordered to crash into the Pentagon building. Thousands of people were killed between the two buildings. In New York and Washington D.C. many people were hospitalized as well as being killed. Many people lost a lot of blood as well. The American Red Cross is doing the best they can doing the best that they can do, but it dosen't seem to be enough. There is a vast shortage of blood and this is with hundreds of people donating in each location. President Bush is trying as hard as he can to find out who is responsible for the attacks and plans to punish them... -----------------------

 President Bush is in an underground bunker in Omaha, NE.
The nation is at Threat Status Charlie. New York is at Threat Status Delta. Two warships (a missile destroyer and a cruiser-class warship or better) are in the New York harbor to protect it.
Fighter jets are cutting through the sky. All bogies now accounted for. Current death toll (as of 4:22 EDT): 289. At least 2250 wounded (as of 4:22 EDT).
Part of the Pentagon is destroyed, both towers collapsed. The need for blood is EXTREMELY HIGH (if you are eligible to donate, please do so).
All airports in the US closed indefinitely. All airports in Canada are also closed. All flights from the UK to US and from Germany to US and France to US canceled. No flights will be going over Central England. Bush promises that we will hunt down those responsible and punish them. Most/all Massachusetts Guard Units put on alert, many being sent to help with search and rescue efforts.
As of right now, There are explosions going off in Afghanastan. This is most likely because we are bombing them! The Hospitals are looking for volunteers, to give the Doctors and Nurses a hand. They will be drained by 2-3AM, so if any volunteers are signed up, they will be sent in by ferryboat to NewYork, and assigned to an appropriate hospital! Hopefully we found our target and we are bombing whoever is responsible! We shall see....we shall see....

The bombings in Afganistan are part of a civil war. They were not retaliatory strikes.
They are pretty sure its Osama bin Laden.
President Bush has stated that the United States Military will NOT see a difference between the terrorist groups and the countries which house them.

The Osama guy has publically announced to a Pakistani newspaper that he did not carry out the attacks, but he DOES support them.
The death count is now approx 1,426 (12:30 BMT), with thousands more wounded and thousands unaccounted for. 800 were killed in the pentagon, 226 in the aircraft, and approx 400 emergency servicemen caught in the rubble of the collapsing towers.
Political action is on hold everywhere. The European Single Currency debate is delayed, and the Conservative Party leadership battle in the UK has been delayed until 2pm today (its now 12:30).
Mr Bush and Mr Blair have said that no action has been taken, and Mr Blair is not giving anything away. Mr Bush has a permenant armed-escort, consisting of jet fighter aircraft, helicopter gunships and the usual armed agents.
In the UK, American Air/Army/Missile/Radar bases are on red alert, while the British are on Amber Alert (the second highest). All millitary installations have been closed to the public, and the upcoming Leuchers Airshow in Scotland will probably be cancelled. No planes are flying to the USA for the next few days, and no planes will be allowed to fly over Central London. Any Americans stranded in the country will be given accomodation by the US Embassy and the UK Foreign Office.
Blood donors in the US, North America and Western Europe have been flooded in. The New York hospitals reported shortages as the casualties came in, and need more. However, no blood from the British Isles or the Republic of Ireland will be accepted, amid fears of CJD (Mad Cow Disease, unbelievably).
A Scottish rescue taskforce is ready to be despatched, which has worked in the Indian Earthquake earlier this year, and central american disasters. It was also the only non-Russian rescue attempt for the Russian Submarine Kursk, although were not allowed to travel directly into Russia, and had to go to Norway, then ship a thousand miles into International Waters. Sadly, they got there too late, but have helped elsewhere.
Also, another building, the Solomon Brothers tower (47 storeys high) collapsed, as the World Trade Centre did. It was right next to the Centre.

The death toll at the Pentagon is now 188, much less than the 800 predicted dead.
I saw a combat patrol [looked like a pair of F-14 Tomcats] fly overhead the day before yesterday. Then again, I had traveled to a different city, which is close to Otis Air Base. -----------------------

Well, the death count from the Towers is over 4700 now, more then Pearl Harbor(I believe that that was close to 3000). Hey Tych, where do you live, I haven't seen any stuff here, but then again, I live in the middle of NoWhere California, two to three hours north of Sacramento :P
