Verk kept his rifle shouldered, his sniper now on his back. Verk, right next to Drakar, were laying down as much fire as possible, while the others began to move towards the rear gate. Lines of red streaked into and out of the smoking and burning barracks. Verk one C-22 left. In one movement he dropped his rifle, grabbed the grenade, pulled the pin and lobbed it towards the barracks door. Picking up his rifle he began to fire once again, the grenade going off right at the entrance. He smiled from behind his helmet as the doorway began to collapse.

Turning his head, Verk watched as Jester moved out in twos. First out was Kami and Bright, followed by Jinx and Durandal, and last was Jager and Lion Heart. Now it was time for Verk and Drakar to follow suit. Verk tapped Drakar on the shoulder, motioning for him to follow the others. Nodding he stood slowly, keeping his eyes on the barracks. Once he was sure no one else was coming out, he took off after the others.

Verk made sure the area was clear before following the others. Slinging his rifle over his shoulder, and pulling out his sniper, Verk ran behind Drakar, then made a sharp left, then another. He wanted to be sure that one one was following them. Verk easily kept up with the others, seeing them only a block away as he came to every intersection. On and on they went, the noise of the commotion beginning to die away as they moved further away from the barracks and the main portion of the army as they took hold of the front gate.

Verk made another sharp left, then a right as he came up behind Drakar, and the others who had finally stopped. All were breathing heavy, a bit tired, and a bit shaken at almost losing a fellow squad mate and their SL. Verk moved over to Duran and knelt in front of him.

"How you doing?" Verk asked, hoping he would say fine.

Duran, breathing heavy looked up at Verk. "For one thing, it hurts like hell. Good thing I'm a medic. I should be fine." He replied through gritted teeth as his arm moved slightly.

Verk nodded and turned to his SL. "How you doing Kams?" He asked.

"A bit shaken, and my side hurts a bit. Otherwise I'm fine. Hows the barracks?" She replied, then asked.

Verk nodded and sighed. "It's beaten up pretty bad. Most the NR inside are dead or dying, and just as we left, the rest of the army moved in." He said.

"Good. We'll take a five minute break, then we head to the Parliament house and get this mission finished." Verk nodded and moved off to take a quick survey of the area before they moved out.

In the distance Verk could hear blaster fire, and could see the smoke rising from the barracks, and the two destroyed towers. Verk sighed and looked to his right. Looming in the distance like an obelisk was the Parliament house.

After the five minute break from the mission, Drakar and the rest of Jester Squad started to head toward the Parliament House.  The building itself stood out among the rest of the city.  It was by far the best looking and well kept area of the city. They were two blocks away from the P.H. when Drakar saw a flash out of the corner of his eye.

He turned his head seeing a woman throw the door open and pull a gun out toward the squad.  Drakar yelled to the group, but they were a little too far in front of him to hear him.  The lady began to fire rapidly and almost blindly at Drakar, so he jumped behind the corner of a house.  Taking cover and pulling out a grenade, he threw it skillfully into the doorway of the house causing the little house to collapse and kill the woman. 

Drakar caught back up with the rest of the squad telling them what had just happened. 

"I thought I heard a ruckus.....We must be entering the part of Noether that is strongly in favor of the government", said Durandal.

"Yeah I would definately say so, seeing as how even the women are armed with weapons to take us out.  Keep your eyes peeled....Danger can come from everywhere now, and safety is of the upmost importance", said Verkur.

Once Drakar and the rest of the squad reached the Parliament House. each member preped their equipment to storm the final part of the mission.  By this time in the mission Drakar was down to only one grenade left, his face plate was slightly cracked, but still operational, and his weapons were almost out of ammo.

"I may have just enough to get through this last part, if it does not take a real long time", said Drakar.

"Here take a few clips, I've got plenty for this last part.  I have a feeling that inside that building will be the roughest part of the whole thing because they have been able to reinforce their position ever since the alarm went off the first time", remarked Verkur

Drakar's nervous feeling came back as he knew that he had almost made it through his first mission alive, all they had to was this last little part.  His emotions were disturbed when Kami gave the signal for everyone to storm the facility.

Jester moved closer and closer the the P.H., sticking to the alley ways to avoid and more unnecessary confrontations. Only the sound of their boots thudding on the ground could be heard. The small creatures that took refuge in the alley skittered away as the squad of Imperial storm troopers thudded through to finish their mission. Everyone seemed quite to Verk, though he did have his helmet on, and he wasn't sure if they had their comms on. Verk could feel the tension in the group as they finally emerged from the alley ways, and there, looming before them, was the Parliament House.

The group stopped and kneeling they came into a small huddle. Verk looked to Kami as she sighed.

"Ok, any ideas?" She asked, looking from one helmet to the next.

"We could storm the place." Lion quipped.

"Yea, but do we really want to let everyone know our position? I say we do another distraction." Jager added.

"That won't work this time. Those were new guards for the patrols. Most likely the more experienced soldiers are inside." Kami answered.

"Plus the guards outside did not know we were even here. They probably do." Bright added pointing to the P.H.

Verk turned stood and looked to the Parliament House. Trying to find and weakness to which the squad could take advantage of. Then it hit him, No Lights. It would seem that in the earlier confusion, along with the mini air strike, the power lines for the P.H. had been ripped and torn by shrapnel. Verk turned back to the group.

"Whats up Verk?" Durandal asked looking up at him.

"I think I have a plan. Something subtle, but decisive. Take a look at th Parliament House. What do hits you as odd about that place." Verk said, motioning to the P.H.

Everyone turned to look at Parliament, yet no one seemed to figure out what was wrong. Drakar was the first the answer.

"Wait. There are no lights on over there!" Dakar noted, glancing around to notice that a small light was on just overhead, but none were on by Parliament.

"Exactly. And that we can use to our advantage. First though. Does anyone have anymore smoke grenades? Or even better, some flash bangs? I have one of each, but I need more." Verk said, moving back to the group and putting his flash bang and smoke into a pile in the middle of the huddle.

Everyone started to check themselves and add their own leftovers to the pile. At the end they had roughly three smokes and four flash bangs.

"Good this should be enough. Ok, step one, take out the guards at the door. I'll take care of that." Verk said, patting his sniper. "Then we need to take out any patrols. While I provide cover, Jinx, Jager, and Lion are going to head around the right of the building, while Bright, Drakar, Durandal are going to head left." Verk looked at everyone to make sure they understood. Nods came from everyone.

"Next we get inside. Not that I am trying to hog the fun or the spotlight. But because of my previous career, I will break in and open the doors. Once inside we take out any unnecessary individuals, and then head the the main meeting room. Oh, and we do this quietly. This whole plan relies on stealth and surprise." Verk continued, again making sure all were on par.

"Here's the hard part. We need to breach the main room a bit, louder." Verk motioned to the flash bangs. Durandal, you and Drakar are going to head upstairs to the observation deck of the meeting room. Disable any guards, quietly, then drop these into the room." Verk handed Durandal and Drakar the flash bangs. "Once those are out, the rest of us are going to throw in the smokes, and take to the edges of the room, circling around behind the leaders of the NR. At this point, we shoot to stun. So set your rifles to stun. We don't want to kill anyone on accident in that room. Those are the leaders of this city, and of the NR. We want everyone alive. Every clear on the objectives?" Verk looked around at everyone to make sure they understood, yet again he was met with nods of understanding. "Good. Lets move."

The group stood, and waited for Verk to kick off the first step. Using his sniper, Verk scanned the area by the doorway. Only two guards were present. This should be cake. Verk went to pull the trigger, but then noticed that one guard was moving over to the other, he eased the pressure off the trigger and waited. They could not have set this up and more perfect Verk pulled the trigger. The silenced round whizzed through the air, and then through both skulls of the NR guards who had decided to stand one in front of the other while they talked.

"Ok, step two. Lets go." Verk said, bringing his rifle down.

Ok here are the objectives for the Parliament House. Hope you don't mind Kami =P

Objectives:
-Neutralize outside patrols
-Gain silent access to P.H.
-Neutralize inside patrols
-Make way to main meeting hall
-Setup breach protocol
-Deploy flash bangs and smoke
-Breach meeting hall
-Secure hostages and NR leaders

Kami sat back on her haunches, quite comfortable to let Verkur take over whilst she pulled in a few deep breaths and worked on numbing the pain emitting from her body. Getting injured was not only inconvenient, but a seemingly constant occurrence whenever she ventured out on the field. In retrospect, it was a miracle she was still alive after some of the war injuries she had received over her years of service. Making a mental note to perhaps choose more subtle methods of attack in the future, Kami flicked her attention back to Verkur, who was currently dividing the squad into two teams.

"...we don't want to kill anyone on accident in that room. Those are the leaders of this city, and of the NR. We want everyone alive. Every clear on the objectives?" Verk paused to catch each squad members gaze, "Good. Lets move."

Kami hung back, causing Verk to hesitate as he started past her, “Boss?”

“I'm going to go over the roof,” She tilted her head up at the huge dome towering above them.

She could sense Verk's concern despite the fact that his expression was hidden behind his helmet, “Are you sure that's such a good idea in your...er, condition?”

Ensuring that her rifle was safely secured om her back, Kami nodded, “Continue on, I'll give you regular updates on my position.”

Verkur stayed still for another moment, obviously unsure, then tilted his helmeted head and melted into the darkness.

Kami had left unsaid the main flaw in Verkur's plan, the assumption that the key members of NUIL were holed up in one room waiting to be captured. From the tenacity displayed by the members of the population loyal to the freedom group so far, she suspected that they were more capable than her ASL had given them credit for. A counter-attack was highly possible, even as Jester spread out and closed a net about the building. From her vantage point on the roof Kami hoped to gain access to the building and track the movements of those inside to prevent casualties to her team.

Forcing her mind to focus on the task at hand, as opposed to constant tinges of protest from her battered body, Kami jogged forward and launched herself up the first of the panels weaving towards the roof.

Dell could her distant blaster fire, well aware that the first of his patrols must of encountered members of VE scout force. Clenching his jaw so hard it hurt, he looked to his right, to where his small team of comrades were crouched, brimming to the teeth with weapons gathered from their armory. They'd broken up into teams of four, and were currently making their way to the outskirts of the parliament building.

The plan was to attempt to escape, breaking through whatever barricade the enemy had set up to rejoin the population. Dell's plans to hold until they were all dead had been quickly skewed following a drill down by his wife. Better to attempt retreat and die in the process then sit and wait to die.

She was right. As per usual.

Checking the charge on his rifle for the hundredth time, Dell forced his breath even, and then signaled for another push.

Drakar was awaiting confirmation of Verkur breach of the P.H. when suddenly he saw Jinx come around the corner pointing his rifle at Drakar as if he was an enemy.  When he saw that Drakar was one of the members of Jester he lowered his rifle, while Drakar had his hands raised telling Jinx not to shoot.

“Damn you Drakar,” Jinx said over his Comm.  Drakar laughed and smiled slightly behind his face plate.

Drakar heard a noise over the Comm and knew that Verkur must have made his way inside the P.H.

“Alright, I have breached the building.  Everyone is a go, Drakar and Durandal head upstairs and deliver the package”, announced Verkur over the scrambled channel.

Drakar put his face up against the window and looked to both sides to make sure the coast was clear before deciding to break in.  Once he made the decided it was, he used his right elbow to break a small whole in the window.  Fortunately, because he used his elbow instead of the butt of his gun the window made very little noise at the shattered part fell to the carpet.  He then reached through the window, unlocking the latch and lifting the window allowing his squad to get inside.

Once inside Drakar, Durandal, and Bright took a back to back approach for clearing the hallway quicker.

After they cleared the hallway where they entered, Durandal broke in saying, “Alright Bright, You continue to clear this hallway until you meet up with Jinx’s team.  I will alert him of our plan and your location so he will not take you out.  Drakar and I will head upstairs to the conference room and drop in the flashbangs.  Ready…..moveout.” 

Drakar and Durandal moved west down the hallway in the opposite direction of their temporarily lonely comrade Bright.  As they rounded the corner Drakar heard a noise just up ahead of their current position.  The scanner in his faceplate was detecting movement, but it was hard to see because the leaders had shut off all the lights to make it harder to capture them.
