Because Nazgul doesn't really have anything to do, I've decided to give this a shot. It's a bit of an odd idea, but I figure it'll be something different to try. This is what I come up with when I lack sleep. I've posted this in both the main Nazgul topic and here, in order to make sure all the Nazgul Pilots see it.
First Annual Nazgul Poker Tournament:
In the absence of a good story idea and the next planned one not going to start for about two weeks, Jeg and I came up with an idea to kill the bordem and get a little more activity going within Nazgul.
Jegora has offered to play as our dealer and hence will be a 'neutral party' in this competition. He'll draw out hands for everyone and PM each contestant with their current hand. We will play the rest of it out through a story, which will be based on activity and time killing.
The game is Hold Em, and you need to be active to play. If it comes to be your turn and you haven't posted within 24 hours of it becoming your turn, you fold the hand.
You play just as you would real poker, calling, betting or folding. There will be little blinds and big blinds, just like normal. And although poker isn't necessarily a star-wars game, it'll just have to do. I'm too lazy to figure out Sabacc and teach it to everyone.
To make people interested in this, there will be an actual prize fund. Buy in to the tournament will be 1000 ICs, with a prize pot for the tournament winner of 100,000 ICs, offered by me.
You can bet your 1000 ICs in any way you would like, just try to play as realisticly as possible. Someone (jeg?) will keep track of everyones chip count, and if the new story starts before we finish, the person with the highest chip-count will be considered the winner.
