Rukver looked up from his terminal; he was designing the latest simulation which would allow troops to spend days in training while being fed through tubes so that they do not run the risk of dying. This project has been a long time in the making as they have run into certain mental difficulties; troopers cannot seem to run for more than three or more days before collapsing from exhaustion and in a few isolated cases this has caused death. It was his job to design a program that would allow troopers to garner some kind of rest while inside the simulation that would allow them to feel refreshed in mind.

Seeing someone approach his glass door, Rukver quickly closed the newest sex simulation that was on his screen and opened the files containing his actual work. A knock on his door caused the Imperial technician to push the button that unlocked his door. Since one of the other techies went crazy and shot up the offices all techies with their own offices got a lock and blaster resistant windows. The man that walked in wore an army commander uniform and his rank denoted a gunnery sergeant.

Gunnery sergeant who’s also a commander? Things have changed since my kids served in the army. Running his hands through his salt and pepper hair before saluting the commander. Tipak, Rukver’s youngest had always told him that commanders always looked older, and it was apparent with this one.

“What can I do for you commander…?” He said hoping that his guest would fill in the blank.

“Rogueboy, I have need of your services.” The commander said as he pulled up the seat facing Rukver without asking.

“I am here to serve, sir.” Rukver said while internally moaning at all the distractions this man will cause him.

“Good, I have approximately forty troops who need to go through a radiation trooper armour simulation on a planet following these constraints.” Rogueboy said as he handed the technician a data cube.

Popping it into is terminal the holograph reader kicked in and showed the planet of Strak with its light gravity and short days. Rukver personally preferred light gravity everything seemed to require less energy unlike standard or heavy gravity.

“I’m guessing from these files there’s a plan in the making to form an offensive on Strak?’ Rukver asked, even though he wasn’t expecting an answer.

“Not allowed to discuss it, sorry.” The commander said flatly.

“I didn’t expect you to, it never hurts to ask. What weapons do you want me to load them with?” Rukver said as he opened a drawer filled with files, pulling out a folder he started searching through it.

The commander raised an eyebrow at the hard copies that Rukver kept. “It makes the likelihood of them being destroyed so much smaller.” He said as he pulled out a sheet quickly scanned the top and emitted a content sound. “This is the one; the squad will need to take a radioactive city while engaging New Republic troopers, well it’s really more of a town then a real city but it conveys what we want to accomplish. Is that satisfactory sir?”

The commander hesitated as he processed what the technician just said. “Yes that will do, I expect you and your team to personally run the simulation rooms. You will send a report to me every fifteen minutes detailing the squads’ progress, and allow them a more unrestricted load out short of their armour. Strak does not have radiation levels that would hamper or restrict weapon choice.” Commander Rogueboy said as he stood up to leave. “Oh and before I forget, Rukvek?” He continued.

“Yes sir?” Rukvek said as he groaned in his mind.

“I was instructed to let you know that you may find yourself rewarded should the training guarantee successful results while in mission, dare I say a boost in your budget to fund additional research?” The commander left the room leaving Rukvek with his thoughts.

Working throughout the night Rukvek had his team assembled and all the simulation rooms prepped when the first of the groups started arriving. They were meeting in an auditorium where the commander would give a speech detailing what was going on, than the teams would follow a technician to a room.

Rukvek hurried to the auditorium as he could hear the commander starting the announcement.

“You will each be assigned to a simulation room, where a member of our technical staff will load up a simulation that will hopefully gain you each some radiation trooper armour experience. I will be monitoring your progress and any I deem unsuitable will not be participating in the upcoming mission. You have your orders ladies and gentlemen I suggest you start filling them out.” As platoon commander Rogueboy left the podium the huge holoplate behind him broadcasted how the groups were to be split up.

The first group filed past Rukvek as a technical assistant carried a huge flimsiplast board with a huge black. “1.” Written on it.

OOC: The squad will start off in an urban radioactive environment, your objectives are to hold the city against an onslaught of NR troops while wearing rad trooper gear.

Orobos stared at his datapad as he walked down the hallway. They were supposed to meet for some sort of simulation training exercise. He walked straight into a small technician heading in the other direction knocking him straight off his feet.

"I'm so sorry," Orobos said to the groaning man on the floor. He reached down and pulled the man back onto his feet.

"Just watch where you're going next time you big ape," the man said frustrated his face scrunched up and red. He marched away.

Orobos continued down the hall towards the simulation rooms. As he approached them he noticed an increased amount of activity around them then normal. There were technicians running in and out with helmets suits and other bits. A large crowd of troopers were already gathered around the entrances. They all had their datapads out. Orobos joined them and waited as the rest of the troopers arrived. Once everyone was here Rogueboy stood. He waited until everyone had quietened down and then started talking.

“You will each be assigned to a simulation room, where a member of our technical staff will load up a simulation that will hopefully gain you each some radiation trooper armour experience. I will be monitoring your progress and any I deem unsuitable will not be participating in the upcoming mission. You have your orders ladies and gentlemen I suggest you start filling them out.”

Orobos looked around as a technician holding up a sign with a large one on it started walking into the first simulation room. He stared down at his datapad. The message he had received said he'd been assigned to group one. Orobos started after the man and a few other people followed as well. Orobos didn't recognise any of them but they were obviously storm troopers assigned from other squads. They all walked into the simulation room and gathered around the technician. The technician stood atht the computer and started typing. Orobos turned to the man next to him.

"Hey,"

"Hey I'm Verkur,"

"Orobos,"

"Hey I'm Fenris," the man next to Verkur said.

Aoes, Kanderin, DracoKorr and Hartigan intorduced themselves and they started talking about what the simulation might include. They stopped as the technician turned to them and began talking.

"I'm going to hook you all up and load the simulation then. Don't worry if you can't see anything at first that's because it hasn't started yet. Now if you will all come here."

The man set about handing the man nearest him a helmet to put on. Once the technician was finished he approached Orobos handing him a helmet. Orobos fitted everything on. He pulled the helmet on over his head. It was pitch black. He couldn't see anything. Orobos listened to the muffled sounds of the men getting hooked up and waited patiently in the darkness. suddenly there was light and he was standing in the middle of a street gun in his hand and some strange sort of suit on him. It felt so unreal. He looked up at the suns beating down on him. The only strange thing was there didn't seem to be any breeze. Orobos shrugged and looked around the the others all in there own radio-active suits.

Verkur sat in the back or the auditorium as the meeting began. Rougeboy stood and told them what they were in for, and then left. Verk stood and looked at his datapad. Group One. He looked around and saw a group standing around a sign with a large '1' printed on its white surface. He easily moved over to the group, slipping between the other troopers in the room.

Once he reached the group he greeted his squad mates for their training, and they followed a techie to the assigned sim room. After reaching the sim room, the group chatted a bit more and then the techie told them what was to become of them now. They were each given a sim helmet.

Verk sighed as he slipped the sim helmet on over his head. Darkness, then light. Blinking, Verk put a hand in front of his face to block some of the light and looked around. Verkur and those with him stood in the middle of a street. Around them were destroyed buildings, smoke billowing from a few. In a few places he could see bodies. Verk shook his head.

"I never really liked these sim rooms. Always liked the real thing better."

Verk looked down at his weapon, a DC-15. What luck. He moved around a bit getting a feel for his rad-suit, and taking in more of his surroundings.

"There seems to be plenty of cover. But are we staying in this spot or moving else where?"

Verk reached to his side and grabbed his datapad and looked at the mission objectives.

Objectives: Hold and defend position from New Republic troopers.

"Seems easy enough. So, lets find some cover."

Verkur then moved to one of the dead bodies and inspected it. The body was burned, and he was glad he couldn't smell it. Standing he looked at the building in front of him and moved closer to it. Verk attached his rifle to his back and began climbing to get a better vantage point, and to see a bit more of where they were.

Once Verkur got a good spot to look from, he looked in all directions, looking for any signs of where they were. To the east he saw more destroyed buildings like the one he was in now. But to the south he saw a building that looked easily defend-able. He climbed back down and rejoined his team.

"Just more destroyed buildings in every direction. Though there looks to be a multileveled building to the south that looks promising. I think we should check it out."

Verk waited for any comments.

Goodness,
The female Squad Leader couldn’t stop glancing over at the whiphid. His tusks gleamed in the cheap florescent lighting of the room in which they waited.  She knew about this, but still…wow…
Being Riqimo’s Assistant with this platoon sure had its perks. Most of these troopers barely knew each other, and much less expected to be joint in this mission.  She gripped her datapad again, her eyes skimming across her troopers and their pet peeves’ details for a last time as one of the technicians called out.
"I'm going to hook you all up and load the simulation then. Don't worry if you can't see anything at first that's because it hasn't started yet. Now if you will all come here."

She grinned at Orobos who’s mask seemed to be fitted uniquely to his large frame.
“Gunny…you’re like a little kid, please pay attention,” the technician at her side ordered amused by her glancing antics at Orobos. Flushing red, she allowed him to cast her in a world of darkness before being engulfed into a new reality stimulated by electronic currents on her nerves.

It was barely a few seconds later, and she was blinking away the exposure of two different suns gazing at her from above though meekly as it watered through a hazy mist.

Bodies…slumped across benches. Across a coy little street table. Lunches dripping to the floor, melting away along with the shattered shards of broken porcelain that once formed a plat. The tar was shriveling and cracking. Hissing at this new type of atmosphere it had to house.
“The bodies are such overkill…” Aeos muttered to no one in particular.
"I never really liked these sim rooms. Always liked the real thing better." Verkur muttered back. Aeos barely heard him; she was still scanning across the city’s destroyed ego. There was a mist that was creeping across the city’s frame, watering all the buildings down to nothing but a murky muddy artist expression of destructions.
Must be some of the rad… she thought to herself. A huge droplet of fluid splashed down on her visor suddenly.
Or not… she thought to herself as her HUD indentified the liquid as H2o, though it also measured the rad levels contained in that small little droplet.  Enough to kill a puppy, she supposed.  Her eyes traveled across the new established and materialized environment, looking beyond the murky walls of office apartments and skyscrapers.

"There seems to be plenty of cover. But are we staying in this spot or moving elsewhere?"

"Seems easy enough. So, let’s find some cover."

The fresh trooper scrambled over the debris, in attempt to gain a better vantage point.

"Just more destroyed buildings in every direction. Though there looks to be a multileveled building to the south that looks promising. I think we should check it out."

Aeos sighed and shook her head.
“Hold it there Verkur, I’m still throwing the orders around” she muttered in good spirits. So typical of privates…always jumping the gun.

“Right…what are the pros and cons here?” she asked to no one in particular.
“Pro’s and cons are the same, basically for both us and the NR. Cons are, that both the NR and and us are wearing rad-armour, in a dangerous unstable environment-“ Kanderin pointed to the destroyed buildings.

“- Pros, the suits can be undermined if hit in the right place by an excellent shot,” he finished.
“Yes, exactly, the NR is still on the move here, we’ve got time to set ourselves up in an excellent vantage point,”  Aeos muttered back at Kanderin.

“They’ve got sensors, UV scanning and all that junk,” Fenris relied as his thoughts shot across various scenarios,”
“I know…” Aeos muttered,
“But look at it like this guys, we’ve got the slight element of surprise on our side-well sorta-, combine that with radioactivity and a good shot…”
“Can’t we knock out their communications?” Fenris asked.
“With what?”
“The city’s still got some stuff-“
“Till that rots in this poisonous air,”
“It will buy us time to snipe the commanders and do some major damage and cause some chaos?”
Draco sighed into his Com-link.  Quite frankly. Aeos felt like it as well.
“Sounds good,  the Comms Tower would obviously be the best to hit for now, Verkur, Fenris, Hartigan, I need you lot keep an lookout for the NR, scout for an sig of them while we’ll be working on the circuitry,”  she muttered slowly while her thoughts process the idea some more.

Luckily it was a small little city, with only a handful of the key buildings usually found in such a city. The Government Hall, Communications Towers, Military Outpost and etc. And much to their luck, the Comms tower wasn’t too far, nor did it lack any length, being easily the highest building in the city. The three Private First Class’ would have an excellent vantage point for scouting with their microbinoculars, while the rest would be working on the jamming system Aeos and Kanderin wanted in place.

It was not a good day for stormtroopers, A town infested by radiation, the equipment that he had on him was somewhat uncomfortable but he got no other choice, Sergeant Aeos ask to scout the area with our microbinocular.

Hart started to advance cautiously toward the communications tower to find a proper shelter to start scouting while the other team would be working on the jamming system, he had no time to waste He had to find a good observation point for the element of surprise on the enemie, while walking toward a building near the tower he found a small shelter to begin the observation, the last thing he wanted was to be seen at this time, is purpose was to remain silent and hide otherwise the enemie could be aware of our strategy. The only thing in this city he saw for now was dust, debris and buildings no sign of activity for now.

He stand up and continued to walk with precautions in direction of the tower to have a more overall view of the area, Two hundred meters further away from his original position hart found a building with two floor and was about  four hundred meter from the tower, with a good view from the roof edge and which could serve as camouflage, the building seems empty and without apparent activity,''that would be the perfect place to see anyone get in vicinity'' he said to himself.

He entered the building and climbed the stairs to reach the roof, For two seconds he had trouble breathing but it passed immediately he said to himself that was probably the effect of wearing this gear in such unwanted condition.

while on the roof , He remained the lower possible the edge could possibly hide him. He resumed the microbinocular observation and began to zoom on the comm tower, he take his comlink put it on a secure line and make his scouting report ''PFC Hartigan to sargent Aeos no activity in front of the tower at the moment and i find the perfect place to cover your back and give you intel on enemy movement, PFC Hart off.'' He put away his comlink and continue the observation.

“Oh cram it! Do we have to use the stairs of all things?” Orobos grunted, pulling his luggish body up the building.
No one answered him. It has been almost thirty minutes since they started climbing the staircase. Fear of the radioactivity affect the safety stability of lifts ensured their survival.
“Almost there,” Aeos wheezed, her eyes wide, damning the suits as made yet another swipe at her face, only to remember that she was in a coffin.
“So…anyone a Comm Tech around here?” she asked. The men behind her came to an halt.
“Now’s the time to ask that Aeos, now would be the perfect time,” Kanderin shot back.
“Hold on with that though-“ Aeos muttered, grinning trying to make light of the tension between strangers.
'PFC Hartigan to sergeant Aeos no activity in front of the tower at the moment and I find the perfect place to cover your back and give you Intel on enemy movement, PFC Hart off.''
“Thank you private,” Aeos muttered before continued to advance her assault on the staircase.
“All we need is to change the signal in the frequency that are usually used by Wrist-Comms and Comm-Links,” she muttered.
“And the UV scanners and that junk?” Orobos asked, sounding almost similar to Fenris who earlier spoke almost that exact phrase.
“ I just need to figure out on what channel those things operate, my guess would be the radar channels?”

It was five minutes later and they stood in the Tower, large walls of glass formed part of the buidling’s interior as well as exterior design, giving a large view for the group to spectate.
“You know…this actually might’ve bin nice,-“ Kanderin started,
“But, it kinda kills it when you know you’re looking at radioactivity,” Orobos grunted.  The jokes died as Verkur called in.
“NR, approaching from west border of city. ETA twenty-five minutes at your current location,  appear to be on foot. About twenty five men,  and-…oh crap. They appear to be dressed similar to our gear, same branch?”
“Thank you Verkur, keep my updated every five minutes about their positions, contact Fenris and Hartigan as well,” Aeos ordered sharply. The thick of the heat was flaming up.
“Right, people, we need to get that jam fixed into place, if they can’t communicate with each other then they might end shooting eachother as well hopefully,”
“Or we can hack into their comms and point out the targets between them?” Orobos suggested.
“Either way, let’s get to work people,” Aeos muttered, eyeing the control panels.

All the computer panels seemed to look alike to Kanderin. He'd never been one for technology like this. Give him a speeder, or indeed a rifle, and he could master it in half an hour. Give him a computer panel, and he'll just sit and stare at it for days before someone gives him an instruction manual.

Fortunately, some of the panels had labels burned into the metal they hinged on. Unfortunately, some bright spark had decided to give them all impossibly long and complicated names.

Would be so much easier just to blow this place to pieces

He smiled as he heard the idea escaping Snipes' mouth in his head. As infuriatingly unlucky as Wraith Squad managed to be ninety-nine percent of the time, he had to love how explosive all their missions seemed to become. Apart from when the explosion hurts someone, normally himself.

Orobos stood on the stairs and looked down the dizzying staircase. There must've been at least twenty storeys maybe more. He was getting sick of the radioactive suit which was so uncomfortably warm and gave limited vision through the small visor. They stood waiting as Kanderin tried to figure out what to do at the small panel.

"I'm gonna go down, get ready for when those troops show up," Orobos said wanting to get into the thick of it.

"You should wait 'till Kanderin's done see if we can jam them," Aoes said stopping Oroos who was walking down the stair,

"Well I'm not much use up here and I'm sure I can do more down there if it doesn't work,"

"Just don't go blasting away down there unless I say so," she said sounding kind of annoyed but turned back to the others gathered around the panel.

Orobos continued down the stairs taking them two at a time. He ran down past small bits of rubble which had falling down from the roof. The whole town was completely silent. No birds or anything absolutely no life. Though Orobos hadn't expected any in a radioactive enviorment.

Something must've survived? he thought to himself.

Orobos reached the bottom of the stairs jumping over a pile of ruble at the end. Orobos pushed himself up against the wall and glanced out into the street. There was nothing there. He ran outside and across the street to where Hartigan who was crouched low near the top of a large pile of ruble. He was looking out over an intersection were a large group of men where moving towards them.

"NR soldiers?"

"Yeah lots of em," Hart said glancing down at him,

"Looks like we'll have a hell of a fight on our hands even if they do manage to get that equipment online," Orobos said still stairng at the group of soldiers moving slowly towards them there guns sweeping the streets in front of them.

Orobos moved into the building beside the pile of ruble Hart was crouched on. He kicked the metal door inwards. It fell backwards and clatterong as if hit the ground. He walked inside stepping over bodies on the ground and walked over towards a small window near the corner. He could see the rebel soldiers moving towards them across the street getting nearer and nearer. Verkur was inside looking out another window smaller then the one Orobos was at and behind the doorway.

"Fifteen minutes," he called in to the guys up in the tower.

“Fifteen minutes”
“Shit…”  Kanderin cursed.  Aeos flushed in cold sweat, the ticking clock of her biological watch already going haywire.  It wasn’t off much help that she was only Combat Engineer in this room. An unqualified one at that mind you.
“Gimme the clamps,” she held out her hand to Kanderin who immediately place a clamp into her gloved hand.  She squeezed the object at it’s hinges, forcing it to gape wide open as she parted more wires from the desk box of the main frame system.  Another three minutes or so passed.  Throwing the tools down to the floor, she was finally finished.  She scooted away from underneath the large screen frame, and dashed to the keystrokes mechanisms for the Comm. systems.

“I’m no Comm.-Tech, so let’s hope this frakked thing works,” Aeos muttered almost feverously-
“Five min till ETA,” Verkur sounded slightly on edge, strain could be detected in his vocal voice patterns.
“Thanks, spread out, keep your rifles ready-you lot, move out” she pointed to the doors, while finger typing a string of command into the prompt-boxes.  Kanderin and Draco both seemed to feel protesting but Aeos only pointed her finger again.

“I’m almost done, once done here, the jamming will be in place, just need to load it into an satellite, that way the city will be covered and we can move out to the Government Hall,-“
“They will be heading there,” Kanderin muttered, his thoughts drifting quite vastly across the mission objectives.
“Exactly, now go-I’ll catch up”
Kanderin threw a quick salutes quickly followed by Draco before the two left through the door, leaving Aeos alone.

***
“Verkur, right flank dammit!”
More rapid shots flew through the air, rainbow coloring the poisonous air as different types of carbine models clashed in combat.  The jamming was a success, and right the NR was thrown into a chaotic state of disorder, worsened by Kanderin’s quick, smart yet basic thinking of tipping down the one or two commanders that were accompanying the platoon of enemy forces.

Once down, the two Squad leaders followed soon as well. With communications lost between each other, and enemy fire that coiled through the air from various unknown sources of directions, the favor of life was tipped hugely in Imperials’ favor.
“Where is Aeos?” Hartigan asked through clenched teeth as he took aim again.
Kanderin opened his mouth, stole a quick glance at the Comm.-Tower and grit his teeth.

Verkur slammed up against a wall breathing heavy. Quickly he pulled a grenade off his belt and chucked it into the crowd of NR troops at their right flank. After it exploded he peeked out and began firing.

"I'm doing the best I can. i havent completely finished my weapons training yet."

A bolt zipped past Verkurs head so he ducked back behind the wall. He chucked another grenade and began to reload his DC-15.

"Verkur. I got a job for you." Kanderin called out. His grenade exploded

"Hold on almost done with these bastards."

Verk stuck his head out again and trywed his best to take quick, pinpoint shots. A few hit there mark, others flew past wildly. Verkur dropped to one knee and began firing, almost completely emptying his clip. He stopped firing and scanned the area in front of him. He sighed a deep breath of relief.

Rushing over to Kanderin he reloaded again and dropped behind some cover.

"Right flanks secure. What do yu need?"

"Go back in the comms tower and get Aeos out of there now!" Kanderin yelled over the battle.

"Yes sir."

Verkur glanced over the rubble and at the oncoming soidlers. Turning, Verk moved back from the direction he came. Ducking, he looked around the corner, no movement. Readying himself he looked at the comms tower entrance. Verk used his great speed and flew from cover, running at full speed towards the door. He reached the door quickly and took cover in the doorway. Verkur glanced back out to see if there was anyone there, nothing.

He quickly patched a link through to Hartigan.

"Hey how fast can you get to me?" Verk asked.

"Hold on give me a sec."

Verkur could hear blaster fire over the connection.

"Where are you?" Hart asked.

"I'm at the entrance to the comms tower. I dont want to leave my backside open to attack while I check on Aeos."

"Alright i'll be there in a minute."

Sure enough Verkur saw Hartigan coming around the corner of the building he was at a few minutes ago.

"I'll cover you as you make your way to me."

Hartigan nodded. Verkur dropped to one knee and peeked out of the doorway.

"Go!"

A few seconds later Hartigan was beside Verkur, breathing a bit heavy. Standing, Verkur closed the door. He pulled a gredane from Hartigan's belt and began a make shift trap.

"A bit of insurance for any unwelcome visitors. Ok done. Lets go."

Verkur stood and checked his rifle. then he began making his way down the hall, keeping close to the wall and checking all the rooms as he and Hart made their way to the main comm room. After severalminutes of working through the tower, Verkur and Hart began to notice scorching on the walls.

"What the hell happened here?"

"Not sure. Lets keep moving." Verk answered.

Another minute or two later and the two heard voices. Verkur motioned with two fingers towards the room they were coming from. Verk took point and snuck up to the door, pushing it open as quietly as possible. Inside he saw Aeos in a corner, and next to a console, three NR troopers. Verk turned to Hart.

"We push in and take out the three guards. Then we get Aeos out of here."

Hart nodded. Verkur turned back to the door and counted down from three on his fingers,

"Now!"

Verk and Hart burst through the door and quickly dispatched the guards. They checked the room and moved over to Aeos. She was out cold. Verkur lifted her, and wrapped one of her arms around his neck.

"Ok you garb onto her other arm. Lets get out of here. Whats that ticking?"

Verk looked over his shoulder and saw a large pile of explosives.

"We need to move now!"

Verkur and Hart rushed through the door as quickly as possible while still carrying Aeos. It took them a little longer, but they finally made it back to the entrance. Verk chuckled when he saw two bodies lying by the open door. They rushed out and quickly made their way to Kanderin.

"We need to move." Verkur said, putting Aeos down in cover.

"Wh..."

A large explosion shook the area. The bomb in the comms tower had gone off and it began to come down.

"NR planted some explosives to take out the tower. Aeos is safe, and the right flank is deffinatley secure now. We should head to the Government Hall."

“There, done,” she muttered to herself, falling back on her behind while gazing at the main frame with pride. For an unqualified Combat Engineer, and even less of a Comm. Tech, she didn’t do a bad job, the systems were jamming, and her squad was given more time.

Or…

She felt something tapping against her helmet.
“Kanderin I said-“
A hard hit reeled by the butt-end of a carbine sent her sprawling across the floor. Gasping for air and fighting against the black spots.
For a moment the two NR troopers only glanced at each other while making several gestures to one another in some form of militaristic sign-language.  Aeos turned her face to the floor, biting her lip as she tried to push herself upright again. Someone grabbed her by the strong metallic-like fabric tucked at her neck, sealing the helmet and her torso armor together.
She made hard connection with the keyboard of the main frame.  Shaking the attack of blinding star-away, she turned around and glanced at the trooper. He pointed to the main frame system, then back at her.

Fix it?

She only grinned insanely, before storming from her slightly crumpled position on the dashboard at the nearest trooper. The world hit black. Someone was pinching the fine, sensitive wiring at the back of her neck that kept her life-support alive.

***
“She’s awake! Thank the sith, she’s awake,”  Kanderin’s voice was a tad bit loud.
Aeos only groaned, and rolled her head to the side while trying to willing her eyes to open.
A flash of bright and the world around were starting to make more sense visually. Distorted images finally gave way to sharp outlines of her HUD that remained online while she was out cold along with the helmet visors of her group glancing at her in what she assumed, was worrying glances.
“Status report,” she meekly muttered and uttered another groan. She slowly started to push herself upright into a sitting position. Kanderin was quick at her side, supporting her back.
“Twenty-five rebels sent to hell. They figured that the Comm. Tower was jamming and blew it up, Verkur and Hartigan pulled you out just in time. They are currently scouting the east gate for more arrivals,”
“Element of surprise is through the roof?”
“Sure is, but we gave them a run,” Draco muttered cockily, grinning while he polished his carbine.
“Right, Kand-“She stuck a hand out to him, silently asking him to pull her in a standing position.
“Move out to the government building. Get on the roofs; hold the rebels off with snipers and grenade. Station Verkur and Draco at the front doors of the building, they’ll engage those who got past our shots, move out”

After the rescue of the Sergeant and the destruction of the comm tower, Hart and Verkur were heading toward east gate for more scouting, enemies had hit once they will be back for sure. Sergeant Kand ask us to scout east near the governement hall while taking care of Aeos.

After they received orders they start moving cautiously to the position of observation on the roof of the hall.

"Do you think sergeant Aeos will be okay?" Hart said with a desperate voice.

"I dont know Hart seriously." With a cold voice.

"Well anyway she is a great soldier, im sure she will be correct." Hart said

Verkur Seemed to be occupied to other matters like analyzing the ground, the remnants of the tower was widely throughout the area based on its size it was not a surprise, but could be useful for cover especially in a urban warzone.

"lets go we are close we should not let them down we are their eyes."

Again no enemie forces around the building, no sign of life, but we never know it could be an ambush, So he opened the door slowly and entered without alerting everybody in the building even if there could be nobody its a procedure its important to be sure to know if  the place is secure.

In the hall two staircases were present, the right one of them was leading into the offices and other rooms, and the left one was leading to the roof maintenance, so they headed to the left one to reach the observation point.

"Ok good we were lucky, or it was orchestrated all the way." Hart said to Verkur while opening the doors leading on the roof.

"I dont know the explosion of the tower probably shake them off so they regroup to the military outpost."

"Yeah you right, ok take the eastside i'll take the north one." Hart said.

"Ok now we need to stay down, watch and be silent."

they were probably preparing something in the military outpost Which was according to Hart calculs approximately one kilometer from the eastside of the hall.

From the building roof they could see half of the tower, the other part was destroyed by the bomb the NR had triggered.

After a few minutes observing, Verkur touch my shoulder and pointed to the east.

"Shit we got to tell the others." Hart whispered to Verkur.

The enemies began to move, almost two platoon or more.

Aeos take her comlink and ordered " Verkur, Draco is coming on your way wait at the entrance and engage any enemies you see, Hart stay on the roof and snipe those NR."

"Yes sergeant!" They said.

Hart never really had to use his sniper, it was the very first time he had to used such kind of weapons, during the basic training he had not learned the basics of shooting in long range, but he would soon find out how use it.

"Oh and sergeant we got enemy movement to the east coming out from the military outpost, thirty men or more, ETA before reaching the governement hall, fifteen minutes." Hart replied.

According to the location of the hall, the enemy would be forced to pass ahead of them in order to continue their route, this should give them an advantage over the NR troops.

"Hey Verkur Watch your back down there and kill those bastard, Hooah!"

"Be reassured i'll come back in one piece and good hunting."

Kanderin quickly darted from one squad member to another, making sure that as many exits as possible were covered. They were, but it didn't give him too much confidence. They might just try and blow the whole thing to pieces like they did the comm tower. And you don't need a door for that.

"Aeos, we're going to have to keep them away from the tower, too close and we might be history"

Aeos nodded, with the sort of look stretched across her face that meant she had been thinking the same as Kanderin. "I wouldn't put it past these NR troops to start using suicide bombs, they're desperate enough with the hole we've blew in their command"

"I'll make sure everyone doesn't go trigger happy" Kanderin nodded " And i think it's better if I make myself busy on the roof. Hart has virtually no experience with a long range rifle. I might not be a trained sniper, but I'd like to think I can handle myself pretty well with one"

Aeos nodded, and Kanderin saluted once again before sprinting off. It was times like this he was happy in his choice of rifle. It's ability to swap from a simple assault weapon, to a sniper rifle, to a tank buster, came in useful a lot.

Around the corner, Verkus was just setting up a makeshift barricade.

"Verk, they might try to throw some explosives our way. If you see anyone with any sort of device anywhere on them, get their location to me as soon as possible, and I'll take them down with a rifle. Don't shoot at them unless you have no choice, you risk killing us all. And make sure everyone else knows that as well"

“Kander, what ETA do think till rebels closes in on location?”
“Twenty min max, if they keep going at their current pace, rubble in road seems to be an obstacle from the front’s they’re coming from” Kanderin answered back at her.
Wires were clicking in Aeos’ mind very quickly at this moment.
“Kanderin, we suspect they're heading for the gov-building right?”
While she waited for him relay back at her, Aeos spied the surrounding buildings at where the government-hall was located.
“Yes, we establish that earlier,” Kanderin muttered back warily. She could faintly make out the sounds of a carbine being reloaded.
“We can’t take two platoons out, impossible,-“
“Suggesting that we crash some building in their path?”
“No-“She grinned.
“On them,”
“Sounds good to me, I take it you and Orobos will set it up?”
He sounded slightly unsure.
“Yes, “ Aeos muttered while she waved Orobos over to her. The large whiphid didn’t hesitate as he neared her, cocking his head to the side in a curious manner.
“Right, I’m gonna need all of you lot’s help, I need fuel, or anything that will go boom,”

***
It has been almost fifteen minutes since Aeos sent out the troopers, excluding Orobos, to search for any big, cheap yet explosive liquid or device that would aid them. And one by one, they were returning.
Aeos and Orobos have already decided on a building they wanted to blow. It was round and circular resting on eight large durasteel columns.
“We’re gonna need to blow at the foundation,” Orobos mumbled, his eyes scanning the ground.
“Yup, the columns might not fail,-ah!” she grinned at the nearing troopers with relief.
“you’re gonna love what Verkur found, “ Kanderin returned the grin as he placed down an container with what Aeos could only assume was filled with something that goes boom when triggered in the right method.
A rumbling sound vibrated through the cement underneath her boots when Verkur appeared around the corner. A heavy transport vehicle. Loaded.  Her eyes shone little stars of affection in excitement.
“Good boy,” she muttered softly,
“Right, guys, the enemy will be passing left of the front gates of this building, meaning the we place the explosives nearest to them, once it goes boom, it will tip the building across them, but we need to set it up in such manner, that it won’t seem to suspicious,” Orobos ordered while Aeos took a step back to survey everything.
They were about a hundred meters away from the Government-Building, which in turn was only fifty meters or so left from the destroyed Comm.-Tower. This was going to be a close call.

Verkur dodged between a few buildings, trying not to be spotted. Aeos had sent everyone out to get anything that would make a nice explosion. After several minutes of dodging and running around, he came to a partially collapsed garage. Ducking inside he flipped on a flashlight so he could see. He smiled when his light fell upon a heavy transport vehicle. Verkur moved up to the six wheeled truck and opened the driver side door.

Sitting in the drivers seat, Verkur grasped the wheel. It took him a few seconds but he found the ignition. Please work. With the first push, nothing. A second push and vehicle rumbled a little in its place. [i]Damn radioactivity.[i] After a few more pushes the transport finally sputtered to life. Verkur smiled. Stepping on the gas, Verkur slammed the front of the ransport through a flimsy sheet metal door. Now that he was in something that could easily smash through a few piles of rubble, Verkur did just that all the way back to the squad.

He pulled up under the building and left the transport running not knowing if it would start again. He stuck his head out the window.

"Where do you want this?"

***

Verkur parked the transport closest to the road the NR troopers would be coming down. Luckily a destroyed building next to the building let one of its higher up walls fall into such a position that would block the transport from anyone looking at the building from the road. Hopping out he made his way over to the rest of the squad.

"So what next?"

"Well me and Orobos are going to wire that transport you found to blow out a few pillars, and hopefully it will come crashing down on tose NR troops." Aeos answered.

"Right. So what do we do now?"

"You and Hart go keep watch. Let us know when those bastards get closer to us."

Verkur nodded and he and Hart moved over to a two story building. They made their way up to the second story and found a good spot to view the road. Several minutes later they saw a large group of soidlers moving in their direction. Verkur got a link going to Aeos.

"Sergeant, we have visitors. A ton of NR guys are moving in our direction."

"We just finished. Get back here so we can blow this thing."

"Copy that."

Verkur turned to Hart.

"Right lets go."

Verkur and Hart easily made their way back to the rest of the squad. The truck was hooked to a simple control detonator, and several lines of wire ran across the buildings floor to three more pillars. Aeos handed the trigger to Verkur.

"Go back to that building you were just in and wait for the NR to get close enough for the bomb to inflict the most damage. The rest of us are going to head towards cover closer to the government-buliding."

Verkur nodded and ran back the way he came as the others went in the other direction. Ten minutes later and he pulled the trigger. The bomb worked great. The NR had no idea what hit them until it was too late. The make shift bomb took out several pillars, causing th upper floors to lean towards the weaker side of the building. That accompanied with the radioatcive decay caused a considerable amount of damage.

After the smoke cleared, and the dust settled, Verkur looked out the window. More then half of the group was either killed in the explosion, or buried under the building. The other half of the group was blocked off by the huge pile of building blocking their way.

From his spot in the second story he saw movement. Using his micro binoculars he zoomed in on the spot. Half trapped under the rubble was a comms tech NR soilder.

"Sergeant. The bomb worked great. Anyone not killed was blocked off by the rubble. Though I see movement."

"What is it Verkur?"

"Looks to be a comms tech. Maybe we can use his radio to out advantage."

"Ok. Me and Orobos are on our way. Stay put."

OOC:
My idea for the comms tech, is to use his radio to call in an air strike on his own guys.

"Yeah I can see him alright," Orobos said staring down at the ruble were a man lay on his front dragging himself along the ground, "but how do you know he's a comm tech?"

"Well it has a computer and spanner symbol on his right arm," Aoes said looking through the binoculars,

"Oh, right," Orobos said spotting the symbol standing out clearly against the mans uniform," He's not moving now,"

"What?" Aoes said,

"His legs are broken," Verkur said,

"How come everyone knows these things," Orobos said

"Well," Verkur said," I dunno about your legs but our legs don't bend that way,"

Orobos stared down at Verkur menacingly a minute but then went back to watching the man. He was still breathing, he could see his chest slowly expanding. There was a sudden explosion from the other side of the ruble.

"What are they doing now?" Aoes said

"They have some explosives, trying to blow there way through," Orobos said,

"That'll take them a while,"

"Looks like they're going around now,"

"Damn, well lets go,"

Aoes, Verkur and Orobos left the building moving quickly down the steps and across the street towards the ruble. Orobos looked up and spotted Kanderin and Hart who were ready for the Soldiers to come down the street next to them. They stopped at the edge of one of the buildings. Orobos glanced around the corner spotting the man lying in the same position. He was still breathing. They ran out towards him. Verkur reached him first and turned him over roughly. The man stared up at them in shock and reached for his weapon but Aoes kicked it away.

"Right lets go," she said quickly looking to the top of the ruble.

Orobos reached down and grabbed the man. He lifted him up and slung him across his back then started moving after Verkur and Aoes. The man gasped every step Orobos took across the street.

"Question, why are you carrying an NR cripple down the road with you?"

"He might be useful in a while" Aeos replied "You should of heard us discussing it on the radio"

"I wasn't listening. Was too busy stopping them from blowing holes in the back of your heads. You're lucky you reached that guy when you did, I was about to put him out of his misery"

"What do you mean the back of our heads Kand?"

"They were evr so slightly smarter than we thought. There was two snipers watching you, possibly more. Try and keep under cover on the way to wherever you're going just in case, me and Hart will follow you and provide assistance. And if one of us tells you to, keep your head down and whatever you do, don't move"

"Not going to argue with a man who has a sniper rifle trained on us" Aeos laughed, pointing a thumbs up towards Kanderin and Hart. Considering they were at least two hundred feet down the road, it was quite a feat that she could see them. They carried on down the road, trying to keep close to buildings or under canopy's wherever possible. It wasn't difficult at the moment, the debris littering the streets was perfect cover.

Kanderin noticed they had created a formation around Orobos. Aeos and Verkur had took the lead, but on opposite sides of the street. The city blocks were fixed in perfect squares, as if the lines of a chess board, making every turn a four way junction. This method meant whenever they approached one, they could see in every direction immediately. Hovering in between them was Orobos, carrying the complaining man on his shoulder as if he was nothing more than a ragdoll. Whenever the man opened his mouth, he would shoot him a look and his jaw would immediately close again.

Kanderin and Hart had also split their vision up. Hartigan trained his sight behind the group, making sure they weren't about to be ambushed, while Kanderin always kept a while ahead, scanning down each of three junctions they met. The system seemed to work quite well.

Hart was always on guard, each time the group had passed a junction he ensured that nobody on each side come out or to prevent NR soldier to follow their trace.

But why did they decide to bring with them the enemie he could report our position, but on the other hand it might become useful at some point like provide important information, exemple where are the rest of the NR and where to hit with the airstrike . Hart asked to himself.

At the same time hart had time to spot a sniper on the roof of a building that Kand had just passed.

"KAND TAKE COVER, SNIPER" Hart Shouted.

Kand nodded, And went to get cover behind a bench nearby, Hart picked up his gun and fired two shot very quickly in the direction of the sniper who had not see Hart yet but aimed in the direction of the Sergeant.

The two shot had hit the sniper, his body felled from the roof as an inanimated doll.

"Okay, its clear we can proceed." Hart said.

The other team was already to the point of safety, while hart and kand was still some meters away from them, once arrived Orobos not seem to be tired at all after he transported the man to a long distance.

The other team continued to march forward, Hart really did not know where everyone was heading but is only purpose was to cover the butt of his teammate.

Kand made a sign of hand to thanks him for saving his life and he continue is way to go see aeos for updates.

They’ve reached a decent spot that would provide as temporary shelter for the time being.  Orobos dropped the poor man to his knees without second though and only grunted in amusement as they managed to hear a muffled scream etching past the visors of his helmet.
“Gently, gently Oro,” Aeos muttered, if only for protocol.  The NR slumped down on his hands, and turned around in some vain effort to relieve him of the pain. He jerked spasmodically as Aeos grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back up again. He was weak enough for her lift him, if barely. Didn’t mean he lost any weight.  She unsheathed the small blade at her utility belt, while her fingers expertly searched for the small plating at the left side of his head, right where the ear would be situated. The HUD technology and circuitry was located there. She didn’t bother with sensitivity, force prying the mechanism open and yanking at the specific wires she knew that would cut him from the NR. Till now, they were able to track her group through him.

She will remesh it back together when needed. But right now they were doing fine without him.
“Right, let’s see if this ape can read,”
Orobos grunted in protest, and snarled,
“Not you, you rug, this one,” Kanderin muttered grinning while he shoved at the Comm. Tech.
“Aeos….we don’t really need him alive; in fact….we might be better off without him,”
“And the airstrike idea?”
“Text code red to the airstrike?”
Orobos and Aeos glanced at one another. They were the only Combat Engineers, Kanderin is Heavy Weapons, and goodness knows, the privates aren’t even in a league yet.
“You lot know that despite what we’ve managed to accomplish so far…that we need a Comm.-Tech to hack a Comm. tech, Oro and I don’t  have the skills, we don’t…we could simply remove his helmet and break the HUD open, connect it to our own HUD, but even then I suspect the NR will make use of sort of code to do that, if we ask him to relay it for us…we can’t tap into his channels, we don’t know what he’s gonna say, “
Aeos sighed, slightly frustrated.
“Dispose of him, Orobos, I’ll let you to the HUD tapping of his helmet, meanwhile, let’s try and stay focused here.  The NR is now definitely aware of our existence here. The buildings we blew up will only slow them down, now Kanderin came up with an idea, since they’re still a bit away…”  Aeos gestured to Kanderin who quickly got down to explaining his plan.

“Right, privates, while Orobos is hacking the HUD, or attempting it, I want you lot to find any vehicles you can that can still be operated. Park it around the  Gov-Building, circular if possible and even down the street from their approached location. Aeos and I will get down to booby trapping it,”

Aeos wasn’t sure, but she thought she saw stars in Kanderin’s eyes, and she could only imagine the innocent boyish grin on his face at this idea.

“Basically, we’re gonna turn those vehicle into landmines, of course we should try and attached it to an remote control type of device, luckily this urban environment provides enough resource to execute such an idea, though we’re still playing against time, once radioactivity has rendered this junk completely useless, then we’ll start blasting with the carbines, now privates move out, Orobos, just kill the Comm. tech already, he’s getting on my nerves…”

There was a loud, resounding crack as Orobos broke the neck of the Comm-tech in one swift movement. He slumped his head hanging at a strange angle to the side. Orobos ripped off the top part of the mans protective suit. The radioactive waste in the air started quickly eating away at the corps. Orobos was glad they had the suits as he didn't even want to have imagined the smell. Orobos pulled off a small plastic container to reveal a series of wires.

"Lets see, red wire blue wire?"

"Stop mucking about up there," he heard Kanderin say over the radio,

"All right all right," Orobos replied.

He set about searching searching following the wires to there different locations. He followed a thing green wire which led inside the suit around the ear section. He checked and it was definitely leading to a radio. Orobos pulled it out.

"Any progress yet," Aoes said over the comlink,

"It's difficult in this suit," Orobos said frustrated trying to grip the wire,"Keeps slipping outa my hand."

Orobos heard her sigh before the small click of the comlink being switched off. Orobos pulled the wire out and then started on his. He picked up a shard of glass and used that to cut the wire of his comlink. He gently tied the wires together and then started getting the electricity to run along each of them. He spent a while on that the thing metals slipping through his gloved fingers. Finally he got it and heard the chatter of the NE radio traffic.

"Orobos made sure he was on his frequency before broadcasting,"

"Ok I'm in, just tying some wires together but now what, I don't have any of there command codes or whatever they have," Orobos said,

"Just listen in on what they have to say for now," Kanderin replied,

"And report it back to us," Aoes said,

"Roger that," Orobos confirmed before switching back to the NR frequency.

"Beta Squad in position, we've secured bridge,"

"Roger that beta,"

"This is Itam squad, Moving around ruble to follow up on Easy's flanking mission,"

"Take care, we lost contact with them several minutes ago,"

Orobos switched back to his groups frequency,"Em, guys we have company,"

Even before the discussion had finished Hart was already in search of  vehicle to booby trapp, he went directly back from where they arrived from, he had noticed some vehicle which seemed to be working but he was afraid that they no longer starts due to radiation and other problems.

He spoted the nearest vehicle opened the door, sat on the driver's side and prayed to get it starts, But at the time the vehicle was to start he received a transmission on his comlink.

"Em, guys we have company," Orobos said.

At the very moment he heard the message he closed the door of the vehicle and head directly to the gov-building, Hart told himself that at least aeos and kand was already in position to trapp all vehicle that was near the gov-building, after that i could stay with them and cover their back during preparations.

Once he arrived at the Gov-building he saw aeos and kand trapping  the last car, so Hart park the vehicle on a great spot and get off.

"Sergeant, i got another one here that needed to be trapp."

"Okay private we dont have much time left like you already heard, we should see NR in not a lot of time so find some cover and prepare our defence,"

First off let me say I'm sorry to my team for not being here. I work all day Monday through friday and don't get much of a chance to post. But Im here now and ready for action. I hope I can post correctly according to the story but if not, just please bare with me. Sorry guys.

Draco spent quite a while sitting and leaned up against the same dusty, gritty wall. The events that had unfolded this day had been exciting yet somehow unexpected. The two suns that had been beating upon his armor all day now played upon the horizon and painted the toxic sky with vibrant greens, yellows and a few random smudges of baby blue.

Draco probably could have enjoyed this more if it all wasn't masked by a veil of contaminated mist. He was deciding weather or not to glance out the window he had been holed up against to see if the enemy's position had changed, but he knew that their positon had not changed.

They had dealt a great blow to the enemy today. And he knew that, chances were, they were attempting to regroup and devise some sinistet plan to somehow surprise his squad. But what they didn't know is that Draco had left behind a few surprises of his own.

It suddenly began to sprinkle as Draco began to wonder if they had bypassed his surprise totally. Nah. Couldn't be possible. No, they just hadn't found it yet. And it was but a matter of time before they did.

As the steady rythem of light tapping played a beat upon his helmet, he realized that it was almost insync with his heartbeat, and the melody they played together threatened to sweep him away into a deep sleep. He fought against the urge and began to play with his blaster. He only had half a charge on his power cell and knew it probably wouldn't last long if the NR troops infiltrated the building and began blasting. His armor was chewed and scored from the days confrontation and his new helmet was limiting his view. The sweat rolling down his forehead only added to this annoying fact.

Earlier today, the excitment of battle was making every bone and muscle in his body itch for war. But now, his body was aching and and he just wanted to sleep. Then he heard a report over his helmet's internal com unit. "Ummm we're gonna have company."

This was followed by a series of large explosions that sliced through the silence like a vibro blade through flesh. The ground and building quaked hard, threatening to drop from underneath his squad. They all stood in surprise, weapons raised as the light rain tapping on their armor was joined by that of debris falling from the ceiling. Draco remained down and began chuckling hysterically. Aeos then asked, " Draco?! What the hell is so funny soldier?!" It sounded more of and order than a question as the words escaped her. Draco just smiled and responded, "I believe they have found my surprise sir. But I was wondering, do you think they liked finding themselves in a small minefield?" Draco continued to laugh.

"My god soldier your insane." came her reponse.

"Thank you sir. "

Draco, I kinda have no idea what you just said in your post:P So if my post is kinda out with yours lemme know, I just continued on writing

Aeos shook her head,
Silly privates she thought to herself while waiting the explosive rumbling to cease.
“Orobos…-“
“Dangit! Sorry Sarge, the explosion threw me off for a sec, I cut the wrong wire,”  he relied at her in a most regretful tone.
“Don’t sweat it, isn’t the end of the world,”
“Right, your next orders?”
For a moment the group merely waited for the Jester Squad Leader to process some thoughts.
“Orobos, any location the NR mentioned when you were hacked in?”
“Yes, the mentioned about securing the bridge,”
“Right, the rest of you stay here and keep this building secured, may I suggest in taking up a position across the street at the cafes?”

Currently the squad was huddling behind one of the big pillars that sported the overlapping marble roof of the Gov-building.  Orobos was still elsewhere and talking through Comm. Verkur and Hartigan remained scouting.

“Verkur, come with me, Orobos, I need you to try and bring down some building around the Gov-base, slow the NR down from the other directions, the rest of you cover him, Verkur, come with me, we need to blow that bridge,”
She grabbed the soldier by his arm, while activating the map on her HUD to follow the source of direction to the bridge.  Behind them, the rest of the squad was already skidaddling around for the next phase.
“Right…Private, a minor explosive should do the job, radioactivity must’ve rendered that bridge unstable by this time, the trick here would be to literally sprint, plant explosive at one of the pillars, if the bridge is build like that, plant and run, their scanning equipment will most likely pick us up before we’ve reached the bridge, hesitation is our enemy,”

OOC:
We are currently located at the Gov-Building, lemme know if Im off track with the mapping, because Im starting to feel lostImperial Network Star Wars Image

Fenris stood, taking defensive positions to make sure that the place he needed didn't fall.  He arm chirped as it gave him crucial updates.  He always wanted to get the chirp out, never knew how.

Fenris began to creep over near a better position.  As he did so, all he heard were objections from his team mates.

"Fenris, come back.  Stay together."  said Draco.  Fenris just gave him the sarcastic thumbs up, as if he cared what he thought.  As he got into position, his armed chirped, as did his comm link.

"We need to stay together.  You by yourself won't help any-" reported the voice on the other side.  Fenris didn't care, if the forces were split, that meant more fire power from every angle, meaning attention diverted, which equaled more deaths.  The Falleen exuded his pheromones, allowed him to think clearer whenever he did so.  His arm chirped again, picking up life forms around him, possibly his squad mates, but maybe not.

"Got some sort of activity..my arm might be acting screwy though...wasn't meant for radiation beating down on it." said Fenris.

"Fairy Dust and Contraptions..." spat Draco Korr through the comm link.  Fenris smiled in his helmet, as he was doing so he focused on the mission.

"If we split the forces we have now, it'd be easier to defend.  That's my theory.  We don't need one big huddle force, split it a little, and we'll be good to go." said Fenris, looking over to his squad, motioning over one more to come.  As he did, one actually did come over, and all the comm links began to chirp.

"Any activity?" asked the voice on the other side, Aeos to be more specific.

"None, and in fact...I think this was a wild goose chase.." joked Fenris.

Kanderin stood and grabbed his gear and Hartigan mocked him by grabbing his.

"Draco!" Came Kanderin's loud voice. Draco knew that Kanderin wasn't yelling on purpose, lots of blaster discharges and bomb detonations will do that to a man's hearing. "You will come to the cafes with me and Hartigen?"

Draco peeled his back off the wall he had been leaning against and stood. "I'm there." Draco said while bending to pick up his blaster. Draco loved war and relished the thought of flanking these bastards and dropping them like credits at a fixed Pazaak table. Draco's face twisted into and evil smile, but the famous petrified frown of his helmet concealed the fact. The sprinkles were now a full fledged down pour, no doubt absorbing the toxic mist and thus becoming acidic like rain. The three stood a let their gun sights scan the flooding streets beyond the building.

The others all knelt, stood behind door frames and used anything the scene would offer as decent protection as they prepared to lay covering fire for the three of them. Kannderin made a gesture with his free hand which meant that it was all clear. Draco ran out, blaster raised with Hartigan on his back and Kanderin on their rear. In Draco's perception, everything seemed to instantly slow.

As soon as they were out, the rain rushed over them like a waterfall. The rain beat heavily and violently upon their armor as their boots splashed in the puddles that mother nature had randomly placed across the street. As they approached the cafes, they turned and glued their backs to the walls. Hartigan then lifted a heavy foot and stomp kicked the door. The door frame splintered with a wet, rotten crack as it fell inwards and landed with a loud *whack* upon the cafe floor.

The inside of the cafe was littered with bodies, broken dishes, crusted over food. The walls, ceiling and floor looked to have been introduced to a hungery rancor. Dried blood and vomit coated certain areas in sickening splatter designs and the flesh on the bodies appeared to be boiled, blistered and in some cases, looked to be melted from the bone.

Draco, Kanderin and Hartigan couldn't help but pause and scan over the horrid scene, but for only seconds before looking at each other in turn, then returning to the reality of the present situation. Draco took a long bar like table and flipped it on its side as Kaderin and Hartingan began shattering out what remained of the massive window that ran damn near the full span of the wall with the butts of their blasters.

When they finished, the three of them pushed the table top up against the window. Then they all turned, dropped and placed their backs against the table, attempting to stay out of plain site until the time came. They stayed silent for what seemed an eternity before Draco broke the silence.

"Damn it! I could sure use a smoke." Draco said exhaustingly and gave a little giggle.

The other two looked at him and began chuckling. Hartigan the said, "Come on Draco, I thought were a bad ass."

This was followed by Kanderin, "Yeah, I thought a rough day for you was like a day in the depths of hell itself." They both laughed once more.

Draco just shook his head, "Don't get me wrong guys," he pointed outside with a hand gesture. "I love this shit. I eat, sleep, piss and drink war. But if it came down to a contest between the flames of hell and wearing this restricting suit in a radioactive city, I'd choose hell in a heartbeat."

Hartigan voice then came back, "Come on Draco. Your not going soft on us now are you?"

Draco looked over, "Oh hell no. But my point is that it can't just be a simple mission anymore. They've got to add the extra crap on top of it all." Just then, a distant explosion rocked and echoed throughout the city followed by a short period of blaster discharges. His head thumped slightly as he let the back of it fall to the table. He then looked again to the horrifying scene before him. "Man I'm getting to old for this shit."

'Privates, keep the cat-fight outside this sim,' Aeos muttered slightly agitated at the petty dispute between the fresh greenies.

Currently, she and Verkur, both sick and tired of their armor sloshed throug the now-muddy road throug the poisonous rain.

They had to detour throug another building occupied block, the short way blocked by rubble and debris from the office apartment they brought down previously.

'Verkur...any chance you can nab another truck or heavy load vehicle?' Aeos asked between sharp pulls of breath. Goodness, since she accepted paperwork as part of her lifestyle she has really lost her edge on stormtrooper fitness. Verkur on the other hand seemed to do just fine.

The private nodded in an affirmitive manner as he broke away from her in his jog. It seemed to Aeos he knew exactly where to look as he scrambled over decayed cement of debris.

She stopped a few good meters away frow where she reckoned enemy UV scanners would start picking her signal.
'Verkur, what's your position?' she asked ignoring the familiar click of her radio link.

'Just having trouble starting this piece of junk,' he grumblee back at.

Shortly afterwards he parked next to her. He popped his head from the broken window.

'What next Sarge?'
'That will be all, thanks,' she muttered. Motioning Verkur to get off, she started climbing the three steps that would land her in the driver'seat.

'Aeos, what are you doing?' verkur asked.
'Ramming this vehicle into the bridge' Aeos muttered while eyeing the ramp leading into the water, hopefully the water will be shallow enoug not to break the speed.

'And dont worry, I'll jump before it hits,' she said grinning while activating the engines.
Verkur only frowned while watching her drive away, picking up speed at the same time.

It felt like a wild rollercoaster ride that lasted mere seconds, yet it was in slowmotion that she jumped from the open door, her sharply trained eyes catching enemy rifles locking on her. And then nothing. She was of life.

Game over...
