It's always bad to see a member leave this way. It's happened before and I'm sure it will eventually happen again. Not because of certain individuals; but because we're all human. We all have tendencies to get annoyed with others, and it's even easier since we can't see the other people behind the avatars.
Let's not try to perpetuate the cycle by adding more logs to the fire to make it even hotter. That will only cause the ground to take longer to cool down once the fire is out.
There is a saying that "just a little yeast will leaven the whole batch of dough". This is true with groups of people as well as individually. So be aware of who you are as it will reflect on others around you.
Everyone will have differences, but we can use those differences to make this club even greater than it is today. Not everyone will think the same way or even think of the same things; so by combining groups of people together with many differences, you get something that is a combination of all of them.
That's basically what the Vast Empire is; and the longer you stay around in the VE, the more of you will be imparted into the VE. That's why you see so many members who have been around for many years.
If long standing members leave, then a part of the VE would leave with them. Eventually, that void will be filled with other members; but that old member will still have had an impact on the culture of the VE for many years to come.
As commanders, we might make decisions that may not make sense to others; but we try our best to make the VE as a whole a better place. If you have any problems, bring it up with your direct commander and they will see that it gets dealt with.
If there are new positions that you aren't moved to, then we probably feel you are more valuable where you currently are. Just bring it up to your commander so they know you are looking to move to a new position. They will then be able to start coordinating things to get where you want to be; just be sure you are already putting forth the effort that the role of a new position would require or you may not see something happen very quickly.
If there are ideas that are brought forward that we don't implement or even just ignore, then that particular idea was not considered to be a high priority at the time. If you feel the idea is good enough, then it's up to you to follow through on it. We can't keep track of everything that comes to us no matter how hard we try.
