The ComNet has been updated to version 4.7.1. This update was mainly performance improvements to pretty much every page displayed on the ComNet.
These performance improvements have allowed for greater statistic tracking as well as future functions that will be available soon.
The main things that were updated are the following:
- Major performance enhancements
- Smilie Indexing
-- Will allow for knowing who uses smilies and how many times
-- Makes displaying smilies for messages faster
- Specific Statistics
-- There are statistics for each Forum and/or ComNet
-- Just click on the statistics button on the main ComNet page; or when you are viewing a Forum or ComNet click on the statistics link on the top of the page

Just as a side note. The specific statistic pages might take a couple seconds to generate the page since they have to count up a bunch of posts for each Forum and/or ComNet. The over-all statistic page for the entire ComNet should run in sub-second times.
If they seem to be too slow for people, let me know. Make sure to note the page generation time at the bottom of the page as well as the URL of the page that was loading. -----------------------

The ComNet has been updated to version 4.8.3. For this release, I improved some statistic performance as well as added a new feature.
Here is what was changed for this release:
- Added last 10 posts for members on member details page
-- Click on a member name to see their last 10 posts in 90 days
- Improved detailed statistic performance
-- This includes statistics for Forums and ComNets
- Fixed a couple bugs in displaying smiles in the post preview

The same way companies decide on their release numbers...I just pull it out of my.....
For the format of X.Y.Z.A, I usually only increment the Y part for new features and the Z part for maintenance/bugs. If they were very minor changes, I might even add an A number.
So basically from the release of 4.2.7, I made quite a few major changes that brought it to 4.7. Then there were a few minor updates for the current features that made it 4.7.1. Then I added a new feature for the last few member posts to make it 4.8 with a few more updates to current features which made a maintenance release number of 4.8.3.

And for another update...ComNet 4.8.5
I have now fixed the 'Go to first unread post' button. This will work for ALL cases no matter what pages the new posts are on.
So basically, if you have never read a topic and the messages are already on the second/third page, you will be taken to the first message you haven't read no matter which page it is on. Then if there are still pages you haven't read, it will have a link at the bottom of the page to go to the next unread message; which will take you to the next page.
Before, the 'unread post' button would just take you to the last page of the topic and not look to see if you have read any previous messages.
Also...the topic subscriptions will now take you to the proper page with the most recent unread message.
Just so you all know....if you haven't viewed a topic in this system yet, it will work how it did before. Once you have viewed a topic in the new system, it will then work properly for that particular topic.

I have updated the ComNet to version 4.8.9.
The main update for this version is to display the current online guests and bots. It will also keep track of the most online members, guests, and bots for each day; and will display that total on the main ComNet page along with the most ever members online count.

It was interesting at first, but after a while I am starting to get annoyed at seeing all the "statistics" links next to every board, possible to make them optional from the profile? On by default of course  -----------------------

Basically as Riqimo said, bots from the search engines.
As for the 'statistic' links being an option on the board pages; I'll have to think about that. If enough people want that as an option, I might just put it in. -----------------------
