This message is for those of you that have a VE email address.  This includes any division email addresses as well.

If you are interested in an email address from your division, you'll need to talk with your division commander.  I can't guarantee they will approve every request.

I have now updated the VE mail server to accept outgoing email for authorized accounts using SSL.  You can still send email using regular smtp (non-SSL).

If you've had problems in the past with your ISP sending email through the VE domains, then you can switch to use SSL when sending email.

The incoming and outgoing mail servers are still the same and use the default ports:
USERNAME:  Your full email address

INCOMING:  mail.domain.com
IN REG PORT: 110
IN SSL PORT: 995

OUTGOING:  mail.domain.com
OUT REG PORT: 25
OUT SSL PORT: 465

Let me know if there are any questions.  This is mainly to help those that haven't been able to send mail through the VE domains in the past and for those that want more security when sending/receiveing mail.

Yeah, my understanding (which is limited on this topic) is that a lot of ISPs won't allow outgoing mail to go through any servers but their own. In theory this lets them stop spam coming from their network, so it has its upsides. Apparently you can get around this using SSL as Kad has outlined above, I assume because its more secure.
