Perhaps an check option in the profile to turn it on and off for the year?  That way some people can show it and others who don't want it won't have it showing.

I have no problem with making member's birthday's known. I also agree with having it be an option to show one's year of birth.

Due to the popular demand of the birthdays being shown in the member profiles, I have added in this feature to the ComNet.

Everyone has been defaulted to only show the month and day that they were born.  If you want to also show the year you were born, then you'll have to update your profile with the proper selection.

Right now, this information is available for anyone to view.  If anyone has a problem with that, then let me know and we can see about making it available to only members. 

As far as the year goes, only members will be able to see the birth year of other members; and only if the member has the option selected in their ComNet profile to show the year.

Actually, going off of waht Fury said, I think it would be a fun idea to have a calendar that the Navy/Army/VE HC can edit and put important events on as well as Birthdays and whatnot.

Just a thought.
