I was thinking...

A lot of online writing organizations (clubs in general) have a forum that allows publicy viewers to post on to ask questions, etc.

What if we had a forum/ComNet section that allowed public users to post their stories to showoff their writing talent? Kind of like a preliminary "join application" of sorts.

By having this forum, we'd get the people that are looking for online writing-RPG clubs, and we'd get to see what they've got, writing wise. We would, of course, prohibit the usage of X-rated material (nude/sex sequences) and we would have a language filter. Before the user is allowed to post, we could make it so that they'd have to read and agree to the CoC prior to posting their works.

Just a thought anyway. :P

Hmm.  Not so sure we are setup for that type of system at this time. 

I also don't want to manage more spam and/or people looking to advertise for other groups.  Not that someone couldn't do that now just by joining the club to post random things.  Which we've seen in the past as well.

Now, if someone were to join, we'd have to mark them as a civilian or something of that nature to label them as non-military.  I'm not totally opposed to doing that either.  We just aren't setup to accept those types of accounts at this time.

Though, I will be adding civilians in the future.  So when that type of thing is ready, we could allow civilians and/or all members of the Imperial Network to post on certain forums.  We'd probably make a totally new forum category and list 1-3 different forums in there for public use.

Good ideas though.  Keep 'em coming!

Hey Kad, what do you think about the idea of having a "squad mailing list"? An option on the Online Roster to email all of the squad members without having to input their email address individually?

It'd make it a lot easier to send out squad messages and AWOL checks.

You could always just take the e-mail addresses and modify your mailing account with them all. Then just shove them into a folder category and click that to upload them all into the TO: section. Of course, for Cosmic, that would be annoying since he gets a constant influx of people. For regular SLs though.. Don't be lazy!
