  ESC Trevor Evenson`s Personal Stories

Trevor scratched his head groggily as his eyes flicked open. Finding himself waking up in a dark room was usual, but feeling so full of energy at this time of the morning wasn`t. Luckily for him, it was his day off. He sat up and stretched before throwing the covers off and stepping onto the cold floor. Making his way over to the `fresher, he grabbed some clean looking clothes off the floor and set them outside the door.

When he was finished in the refresher, he got dressed and looked for his flight suit. He was going to go get some practice time in in his Y-wing.  Pulling his suit out from under a pile of dirty clothes and old magazines, he slipped into it and grabbed his helemet out of the foam filled box it always sat in. Trevor took meticulous care of his helmet, and beleive that his suit could be worn away to almost nothing, but his helmet should always be in perfect working order.

As he left the room he hit the lights and let out a sigh as the door slid shut behind him. It had been the sound he had heard for most of his life, the sound of a ship`s door closing behind him, or opening infront of him. It never really ment anything, but today it made him think. I`m trapped aboard one of these, except when I`m out flying. Its what makes me free, being able to perform those moves flawlessly. Well...I usually flaw them, but no matter. It still makes me feel amazing. When I`m just flying that is...In battle I`ve got to much to worry about to remember that there are no contrants out there aside from me and my fighters capabilities. He thought to himself as he arrived at the hanger.

He made his way over to one of few fighters that stuck out in the bay. For the most part it was filled with TIE variances, so seeing a fighter that was commonly flown by NR could confuse anyone who didn`t know that it was a private fighter.

Trevor climbed up the ladder and hopped into the cockpit. Going over his pre-flight check, he had to put his helmet on to drown out the excited flood of chirps from his Astromech, Zip. Zip hardly ever got to fly with Trevor, because Trevor was usualy in a TIE. It had been a change for Zip, one which neither the astromech nor Trevor had been happy about. Zip tended to play pranks on Trevor because he felt left out, and Trevor missed the feeling of having someone over his shoulder who was watching out for him.

"Yeah yeah Zip, we`re almost ready to go. Why don`t you call in and ask for permission to leave?" Trevor told the droid as he tucked his clipboard away under the seat in its little compartment.

"You have permission to leave the hnage,r Nazgul 9. We`re currently about 5 minutes from an asteroid belt, you can go there for some bombing practice." A female voice informed him over the comm as he powered up the bomber and began his exit.

"Thanks for the tip command." Trevor replied as he skillfully piloted the fighter out of the hanger. I didn`t think they told us stuff liek that, I coulda foundit on my own. Oh well...She sounded hot. He thought to himself as a grin spread across his face. It had been quite a while since he had last heard from his girlfriend, even though he had tried to contact her many times, and he assumed that his absence from her had pushed her over the edge. He was a single man again, and it felt strangly right to him. Maybe that was just because he felt he had feelings for someone else, or because over the past while him and his old girlfriend had been growing apart and arguing more.

Ah well, whatever....She was cool but I guess shit happens. He thought to himself, before askign allowed, "Isn`t that right Zip?"

He was replied to with a stream of confused beeps and chirps.

"I mean, shit happens, right?" He said clearly as they approached the asteroid field. Zip replied with a simple 'Yup' on the data-screen that translated his beeps into words. It was a pretty simple answer but it made Trevor feel good. I wonder if he is programmed to agree with me on stuff like that.

Trevor piloted the fighetr between two large asteriods before they crashed into eachother and bounced apart, and then had Zip paint him a few asteriods as targets. Larger ones would represent buildings, while smaller, fighter-sized ones would logicaly represent fighters. Fighters could be taken out with enough hits scored on them with cannons, or missiles, while buildings needed to be bombed. Because the asteroids did not have any way of recording hits made against them, Trevor made sure Zip was watching closely and recording any kills, which he would unpaint on the radar afterwards.

Trevor got to work as he punched the throttle and heard the engines come to life behind him. He ripped past an asteroid Zip had painted as a building and dropped a few blaster bolts into one of the fighters. Zip counted it as enough for a kill, bringing him down to 59 fighters and 30 buildings. It might have been a pretty bad matchup in real life, but this was training and he didn`t worry to bad. Besides, he had taken this many in the sims before.

He had taken out another 'fighter' when a cocky voice came over the comm to him.

"Yeehaw! If it isn`t Ace!" The voice came across loudly, and Trevor couldn`t help but grin.

OOC: Part 2 comes later.

Part II

"Havn`t heard that callsign in a while Reaper. How ya been?" Trevor asked his old friend as he dropped another bomb onto one of the asteriods. Trevor and Reaper went back a long way.

Reapers actual name was Krey Que`l don, but normally went by just plain old Reaper. The two of them had been in Hussar squadron back when they were in the NR, and then just recently had met up again on one of Nazgul`s missions, where they went to Nar Shadda.

"I`ve been up to almost nothing, but I seen you leaving and decided to come surprise you." Reaper replied, skillfully piloting his bomer around the rockey chunks, all the while keeping hidden from Trevor.

"Ok, well, where are ya? You and that fighter or your`s blend in pretty good." Trevor asked, commenting about Reapers bomber. Reapers bomber had been custom painted black, with an erie white skull skillfully painted along the underside. The skull was Reapers logo, and could be found on everything he owned for fighter use. His suit had it embroidered on the back, his helmet had it decaled on, and of course, his fighter. The fighter had also had the ion cannon moved to the side of the cockpit, insted of the regular position, which was on the roof.

"Back here." Reaper replied, firering a single blast into the back of Trevor`s fighter. It did no damage, being easily stopped by the shields, but still gave the fighter a little shake, allowing Trevor to realize where Reaper was.

"Haha, I see you now. Hey Reaper, if you`re not doing nothing," Trevor began. It had been well known in the Hussars that Trevor and Reaper were the two best Y-wing pilots out of all of them, but who was actually bets had never been decided. "Wanna have a mock dog fight? Ion cannons only?" He asked, and awaited Reaper`s reply.

"Well..." Reaper said, pausing. "You`re on. We`ll both slplit opposite directions and fly that way for 30 seconds, then spin around and go at it, alright?" Reaper asked, already breaking from Trevor`s rear and heading the opposite direction.

"You`re on." Trevor said, punching his throttle forward, and telling Zip to unpaint all the asteroids, and just leave Reaper painted. After he had flown for about 25 seconds, he turned his fighter around and arched it up high over a group of large asteroids. Reaper`s craft could be seen pretty much only by the white skull and any cabin lights he had on, making him a difficult opponent. Trevor began tracing for the heat from his engines, and After getting a lock on it, dove down low, setting his ion cannnon to manuel control.

Reaper had apperently caught sight of him too, as Trevor had been forced to dodge to incoming blue blasts. One thing Trevor liekd about the ion cannon was that the pilot didn`t have to be right behind his target, because the cannon would swivel.

He turned the cannon in Reaper`s general direction, which was off to his left, and fired a few shots toward him, none making contact. With these cannons, a single shot to the shields would disable them, with two more required to disable the fighters weapon systems, and a third blast for the engines.

Reaper now pulled his bomber into a tight curve, attempting to bring himself around behind Trevor for a clearer shot. Trevor arched high between two asteriods, right before they clollided into eachother, causing Reaper to have to pull back hard and go up around them. As he came over the top, Trevor unleqashed a series of ion blasts towards him, the first making contact with the shields, shorting them out, while the second and third missed completely.

Reaper swore at Trevor and laughed, then fired back, taking out Trevor`s shields as well.

"You`re playing with fire Trevor." Repaer warned him, shooting to more shots after him, both which missed.

"Yeah, but I`ve got a bucket of water." Trevor replied cockily, shooting once more at Reaper, the blast spreading itself out across his cockpit, disabling the weapon systems.

"Ah man, thats not cool." Reaper replied, pulling up hard to begin his run away from Trevor. Unnofficialy Trevor had just won, but Reaper didn`t want to play by the 'no weapons, forfiet' rule, so he fled. Trevor laughed and pulled his fighter around, pushing the throttle forward as he did so, and catching up to Reaper.

He got in as close as he safly could, before firering the final blast, disabling Reaper`s engines. As Reaper began coasting, Trevor laughed and flew past slowly.

"Alright man, now go get me some help alright?" Reaper asked, hoping that Trevor would go back to the ship and get a tow crew to come get him.

"Alright buddy no worries. I`ll go get someone." He replied, pushing his thottle all the way forward and heading back to the main ship.

Part III coming soon.

Trevor was waiting in the hanger as they pulled Reaper`s fighter in through the hanger and landed it on the ground in its proper space. Reaper climbed out and layed his helmet on the fighter, before grabbing a tech and ordering him to do somehting, before making his way over to Trevor.

"Well, you beat me." Reaper said reluctantly as he slouched down next to Trevor. It had been a long while since the two of them had spent time together.

"Yeah, I guess I did. It was pretty close though, you have to admit." Trevor told him, not wanting to admit he was better then Reaper. He had always thought it was more fun when they were about the same, and neither was better nor worse. Things were more interesting, and more competative.

"Well, What all have you been up to with that squadron of yours?" Reaper asked him, standing up and grabbing himself a water bottle from a nearby table. It had bene opened and part way drank, but he didn`t mind and chugged it down anyways. A tech was about to complain when Reaper gave him a good stare, sealing his mouth shut instantly.

"Meh, some stuff dealing with suicidal pirates, had to worry about a self destruct on a corvette like we used to have, and then some fun stuff with life support...." Trevor said, not getting specific about anything. He wasn`t sure if it was classified or not, but if it was, he trusted Reaper enough. Reaper wouldn`t blab about anything, he was good like that. You could tlel him you were going to murder one of his friends and he probably wouldn`t tell them.

"Ah, I see, some pretty basic stuff compared to what we used to have to put up with, eh?" Reaper said, tossing the water bottle over his shoulder, which boucned off the tech`s head. The tech started to march towards Reaper, but caught the sign of the skull on Reaper`s back and changed his mind. Trevor couldn`t help but chuckle at this, as the squat, bald headed man made his way back to his workbench.

"Yeah, basic, normal, and stabby." Trevor replied, pulling the pant leg up on his flight suit to show off one of the neat scares he had recieved while on the corvette as a prisoner. It was teardrop shaped and was right above his knee.

"Oooo, thats a nice one." Reaper complimented, giving the scar a good look before giving Trevor a light punch in the shoulder. "So who is the girl I`ve seen you hanging around with?"

"Tokijin?" Trevor asked, somewhat surprised Reaper knew of the other people in his squadron. He had to stop for a moment to think of what Reaper was trying to get at. He thinks we`re dating or somehting...I should kick him. Trevor thought to himself as a smile spread across his face.

"See, you think about her and smile." Reaper said mockingly, giving Trevor another jab. Trevor quickly retorted with a swift side kick to the leg, which caused Reaper to slump over on the ground, clutching the part of his leg that Trevor had kicked.

"I was thinking about doing that." Trevor said with a grin. "But as for Toki? I dunno. She`s more of a kid sister than anything." He said, telling what he figured ot be the honest truth.

"Ah, sure, whatever you say bud." Reaper replied with a cocky grin on his face, before getting up and begining to walk away. "I`ve got to go get some rest. See ya around." Reaper said with a wave.

"Yeah, see ya later." Trevor called after him, not gettingup quit yet. Reaper had put a thought into his mind. What if I think of her as more then that. Naaah....Well....

"Would Trevor Evenson please report to breifing room B34." A loud, blaring voice came over the comm into Trevor`s room. He had just fallen asleep and as soon as he was woken up, threw his pillow across the room at the speaker box.

"Shut up, I was trying to sleep!" He said loudly, somewhat glad that these boxes were only one way. He stood up and put on his shoes, not wanting to put on his boots incase they wern`t leaving right away. He could always slip into his boots quickly afterwards if he had too.

"Woudl Trevor Ev-" The box started again, before Zip shorted it out through a panel in the wall below it, followed by a short spurt of beeps from the small droid.

"Yeah, thanks..." Trevor said as he walked out, tapping the droid`s 'head' and closing the door behind him. He slowly made his way down the hallway to the breifing room, in no real rush. They wouldn`t start without him. He had been stationed as the leader of a group of 4 pilots, including himself, who ran scout missions. It was pretty boring as nothing ever happened, but it was almost like a vacation. He was dissapointed about the rest of Nazgul not being, around, but if that was how it would be, oh well. Besides, there had been rumors of a Squadron Vacation coming up, and he looked forward to that.

It will be nice to get away from fighting and just relax. Maybe on the beaches of some oceanic planet, or in the forests of some tropical planet. I`m not sure, but that would be nice. Would be a good chance to spend some time with Tokijin and everyone else. He thought to himself absent mindedly. Then he realized exactly what he had thought. He had said Tokijin first over any other member of the squadron. Well, she is probably one of my best friends here...That must be why. He lied to himself. After his talk with Reaper, he had seriosly considered that maybe he thought of Tokijin as somehting that oculd end up as more than friends, but was now lieing to himself, telling himself that that wasn`t the way things were.

I probably just htink of her more because she is away from us right now. In a little while, when everyone is back, these feelings will go back to jsut that of friends. He told himself as he walked into the breifing room and sat down near the back.

"I`m glad you decided to join us, Mr. Evenson." The commander, James Liqukteew said blankly, before signaling for the lights to be turned off and turning on a holo in the center of the room.

"This is the asteroid belt we are currently hanging just out side of." He explained as a bright blue rotating image of the asteroid belt appeared in the holo. "We have learned from other scouting missions that a NR outpost has been set up on one of the farther asteroids, and that they will be attacking us soon. We need to destroy them before this happens." He said, stating the objective blankly.

"You will be up against X-wings presumably, although it wouldn`t be to far off for them to be using the 'still experimental' V-wing fighter. B-wings are also a possibilty, although much less of one than the X-wings." The command said as each fighter he mentioned flashed up on the holo projector.

"You will be using TIE Interceptors, except for Trevor. He will be flying a modified TIE Bomber, so it will be your job to escort him and keep him safe." The command informed them as the two friendly fighters showed up on the holo.

"Sorry for the vague description, but there is not alot to explain about this mission. Good luck, you launch in 40 minutes."

"Alright, here we go people." Trevor said as he finished up his pre-flight check. The bomber was running perfectly, but he was sure he would discover a few of its personality kinks once he got flying. The rest of his 'flight' was across the hanger from him, also finishing up their flight checks.

"This is Master 1, ready to go." Trevor said as he powered up his engines. He only sorta knew his flight, as they hadn`t been around each other for all that long.

"Master 2, reporting in, everything is green and ready to fly." Jesse Saummers called in. She was a pretty, young thing, but not someone Trevor would be interested in, although rumors did fly around that she was interested in him. She was a pretty new pilot, but had already shown skill on previous flights.

"Master 3, I`m set." Adam Hi`retk Chimed in. He was a more experianced pilot, and reminded Trevor a bit of Art in how precise he was, but he was a lot less mature until he got into the fight. It was a little bit annoying to see such a switch, but he was a pretty fun guy to hang around when he was acting foolish and immature, much like many other pilots.

"Master 4, I`m good..." Jim Caprice stated, his voice slowly trailing off as he spoke. Jim was brand new out of the acadamy, rounding out Trevor`s group after the old Master 4 had been transferred out, apperently going to the same place as Tokijin had gone. Trevor had personally been hoping to be sent to the same place, but it didn`t happen. Oh well, she`ll be back soon enough... He thought to himself as he dropped from the claw that held his bomber and skillfully piloted it out of the hanger, followed by the rest of his flight.

"Alright, we arn`t going to be arriving for a few minutes, so watch these asteroids and try not to get killed on the way there." Trevor joked as two asteroids bounced off eachother in the distance. It was a little bit of a fear that he would lose a pilot due to some stupid judgmental error, but if it happened, it would happen.

"Whatever you say boss..." Adam replied, using his nickname for Trevor. It wasn`t something Trevor personally enjoyed, not being that big of a fan of the nickname, but he didn`t really say much about it.

"Yeah, we`ll be carful, don`t worry." Jesse said in a flirty tone, which resulted in the other two pilots groaning, Trevor still staying quiet.

"C`mon Jess, leave him alone eh? Word is he`s got a girl back in Nazgul." Jim said, which provoked an immediate reply from Trevor.

"Oh yeah Jim, whats makes you think that?" He said angerly, Adam trying to hold back his laughter and Jesse trying to decide whether or not he was denying it to give her a chance, or if he was embarased. "Your fresh out of the `cadamy, and you don`t know shit, got it?" Trevor asked, not expecting an answer.

"Yeah, I got it..." Jim replied, pulling his fighter a slight way away from Trevor`s fighter.

"Alright, We`ve got some NR contacts on the radar. Its a pair of X-wings, probably scouts. Think we can make it around them without notice?" Trevor asked as he slowed his fighter down. The TIE`s they were flying had increased sensor distance, meaning they could see the X-wings, but they couldn` see them.

"I doubt it." Adam replied, not bothering to explain. That was how he worked though, he would only explain his thoughts if he felt it nessicary or if he was asked. This was one of those times he thought it to be unnesicary.

"Then I guess we`ll have to take them on..." Jesse said as she armed her cannons, and Trevor could be heard sighing over the comm. She was about to ask what was wrong whne he explained.

"Alright, well, do you think you three could take them on?" Trevor asked, but didn`t stop with that. "I don`t want to risk losing the bomber. If you need me, I`ll fight them with you, but I`d rather not." He continued, and hoped that they would cut him some slack and let him hang back. No such luck.

"Well, me and Jim can take one of them," Adam said, and Trevor knew he wasn`t going to like this next part, "But I think that Jesse could use some help from you for her opponent." He finished with a laugh, knowing that although the flight leader could decline and send them in, he wasn`t like that, even if he ended up getting pair with someone he didn`t share interest with.

"Fine..." Trevor said as the flight split up, him and Jesse on the left and Adam and Jim on the right. The split up farther, planning to make wide turns and come in on the pair of enemy fighters, one pair from the front, one from the back.

This plan was foiled though, when one of the enemy fighters picked up the incoming TIEs and bugged out, launching himself away from his partner at breakneck speeds, just missing an asteroid and then pulling a difficult barrel roll to avoid a second one.

"I got the bug." Trevor said as he pulled a hard left to swing himself around to follow the bugging out X-wing, followed closly by Jesse. Adam and Jim were pounding on the rear shields of the X-wing who had stayed calm, which may not have been the best choice for him. He was now being chased down by a pair of TIE Interceptors, which seemed to be unable to miss, sending his shields to a bright red in no time.

"Alright, Jess, If you can get a lock with a missile, go for it. I`m going to be making an attempt to take out his shields with my cannons, but I wouldn`t bet the Star Destroyer on it." He said with a laugh as he adjusted the cannons, taking occasional shots to help him figure out where exactly they were going to converge ahead of him. He finally managed to make contact with the shields of the fleeing X-wing, blinking them a bright blue.

"Got a lock!" Jesse said loudly as she got a confermation beep. At this, the X-wing made another attempt to bug out at the sound of the missile lock alarms, but found that the top of his craft would immediatly meet the asteroid just meters above him as he tried to pull up and away. The X-wing appeared to shatter before igniting and exploding.

"Good work Jess." Trevor said, almost wishing he hadn`t said that out of fear that she might take it a little to far, but for the moment, it would appear that she didn`t.

"Thanks..." She said, her voice trailing off. From what Trevor knew, she hadn`t gotten a true kill before, and that was probably as close as she had gotten. Maybe she feels a little guilty... He thought to himself before the thought was ended by Jim.

"Master 1, we got rid of that X-wing, but he managed to send out a distress call before being vaped." Jim said, sounding as if he was freaking out. Trevor was about to remind him not to worry to much because it was just an outpost, but Adam beat him to it.

"Jim, calm the hell down. We`re talking an outpost. They probably will send a flight after us, while keeping the rest at the base incase we are just a distraction." Adam said, sounding quite calm as he said it.

"Yeah. Alright guys and girl, form up. We`re getting close, and should be expecting trouble." Trevor said as he pointed the nose of his craft back towards the main objective.

"The way of war is a way of deception. When able, feign inability; when deploying troops, appear not to be. When near, appear far; when far, appear near. Lure with bait; strike with chaos. If the enemy is full, be prepared. If strong, avoid him. If he is angry, disconcert him. If he is weak, stir him to pride. If he is relaxed, harry him; if his men are harmonious, split them. Attack where he is unprepared; appear where you are unexpected. This is victory in warfare; it cannot be divulged in advance. OOC: for all those last ones? or just the super short two?

BIC:

Trevor had been right about one thing, they were going to send another flight out after them. What he didn`t expect was that it would be V-wings insted of X-wings. This ment faster, higher powered fighters that would pose a much higher risk to the trio of Interceptors and the Bomber.

"Alright, we got a quartet of V-wings, watch out for these things. They`ve got a very high rate of fire, and pretty damaging cannons. Don`t be afraid to use missiles if you have to." Trevor commanded as the V-wings became visible about 2 kilometers away. Still just dots right now, they were probably working on getting locks as the small assult group tried to decide what to do.

"I`ve got an idea..." Jim piped up quietly, seeming half afraid to be yelled at again by Trevor. He had been fling a bit staggered from Trevor`s fighter, but had pulled a little back into formation when the V-wings were spotted.

"Lets here it." Trevor querried as he began making minor ajustments to his shields, transferring some energy from the cannons into them. he knew it wouldn`t be the most effective way to keep a V-wing from killing him off, but it would be a better idea than transferring energy from his engines into the shields. The Bomber was significantly stronger than a stock Interceptor, and the VE versions had been modified to have stronger shields, putting the shielding into that of Y-wing range. The armour plating was less, but still enough to survive a dogfight with an X-wing longer than a regular Imperial bomber.

"Well, If we waited until they got close enough and dummy fired some missiles at them, we might be able to make contact, or catch one or two within the blast radius." Jim explained his rather simple plan, but Trevor could only find one true fault in it. Aside from its simplicity, a pilot who was flying a V-wing was obviously experianced, as the V-wing was to the NR as the Aggressor was to the VE.

"Well, they might see it coming...But hey, what have we got to lose? 4 missiles? I say we try it." Trevor said, arming a missile and aiming it in the general direction of the incoming V-wings. The rest of the 'squadron' did the same, although they seemed a little more confident in Jim`s plan then Trevor did.

"Alright, they are closing in now, 500m, 450, 400..." Trevor called off, until he hit the 350 mark, where he realeased the missile from its hold inside the tube, it ejecting itself in the direction of the V-wings. He felt he had launched it a little bit too soon, but at the speeds the fighters were approaching eachother at, it wouldn`t matter a whole lot. The rest of his flight had launched their missiles over the next 50 meters before pulling up or dropping down.

The V-wing pilots may have been experianced, but that could have been why they didn`t expect such a manuever. They didn`t have time to react, and all four missiles detonated near them, one of the V-wings taking quite a battering and losing control, plowing into an asteroid and bursting into flames. Trevor would have thought it quiet spectacular if he hadn`t have been immediatly pursuied by one of the remaing three V-wings, which was currently trying to get a lock on the fleeing bomber.

"This is Master 1, I could use a hand here." He said over the comm as he was shaken by a pair of bolts that hit his aft shields, fired by the V-wing. "If anyone wants to help..."

"I`ll give you a hand..." Came the all-too-famlier voice of Jesse. Trevor looked out his rear viewport with a small amount of agonizing twisting inthe belts to get a good look at what was going on. Jesse was bearing down on the enemy fighter, cannons blazing, the V-wing`s already half-dead rear shields lighting up like a sky full of fireworks. The spectacular show ended might fast though, to be replaced by puffs of smoke being thrown out from the V-wing`s hull.

The V-wing was relentless in his pursuit of Trevor though, not allowing the damage being done to him be enough for him to turn off his prey. Trevor watched in horror as his rear shields blinked down quickly from 93% to 75, then to 62, then to 45, and then a drastic jump to 15.

Just as his shields were about to blink out, he heard a small squeal and Trevor quickly took note that there was no longer a V-wing behind him. Jesse had gotten her first true kill and was celebrating quietly.

"Thanks Jesse...I owe you a drink..I mean it." Trevor said. She definatly won`t replace Toki, but there is no point in being totaly avoidive of her.

"Alright, we`re down to one V-wing, good work people, looks like he`s making a run for it." Trevor stated as the lone V-wing turned towards the opposite end of the Asteroid belt and punched it. He also hit the V-wing`s speed boost, which pushed the engines beyond their normal capacity. Trevor sighed as he launched away from the flight of TIEs.

"Keep on him as long as we can, and maybe we`ll find the outpost quicker." Adam suggested as he pushed his throttle forward, the TIE lurching awkwardly away from the rest of the flight. Trevor had been flying slower than he normally did, so for him, speeding up seemed to add alot more speed than it really did.

"Keep an eye open, you never know if the NR has turrets mounted on these asteroids." Jesse warned as they shot around a large one, about the size of half a Victory Class Star Destroyer. cruising over the surface, Trevor was keeping a watch out for large craters.

"Hey, Y`all steer clear of that big one." Trevor warned, himself making a large loop around and ahead of a crater that was easily 120 meters across, and incredibly deep.

"Why is that?" Jesse asked as she followed Trevor. Adam too followed, but Jim, finally getting his chance to defy Trevor`s orders, stayed on his course.

"Crater Worms.." Adam explained before Trevor could. Trevor, having not payed much attention to what Jim was doing, after assuming he had followed, was quite surprised to look out his left viewport to see a lone Interceptor crossing the void.

"Crater worms?" Jesse asked. Adam was about to explain before Trevor cut him off.

"Jim, pull up now!" He hollered as Jim continued across the crater, actually slowing down as if to show just how he was trying to defy orders. "Jim," Trevor said, sounding more worried then pissed now, "Get out of thre, or you will die. I`m not screwing around. You will die."

"Yeah, just watch me..." Jim replied, the cocky pilot pointing his craft nose down and then punching the throttle, shooting the fighter downward. This is when Trevor quickly suggested that everyone cut their comms, he doing the same as soon as they complied.

Trevor was tempted to follow Jim for a minute, just to see if he could give any help, but found that the opportunity had passed as Jim`s fighter blasted back out of the crater, no longer black, but now covered in a white substance that appeared the be moving. A few of the white chunks fell off, but it didn`t matter much now. The fighter was slowly losing its ridgidity, almost collapsing under the vacuum of space. But before it could do that, a figure fell from the cockpit. It was Jim, but he didn`t last long, quickly being destroyed by the vacuum. Within seconds the white stuff was falling back to the asteroid as well, leaving nothing behind.

"What the HELL was that?!" Jesse asked, and Trevor was somewhat surprised, he had never heard her swear before. I guess hanging around with pilots will do that too you. Oh well, she was bound to curse at some point.... Trevor thought to himself as he debated whether or not to tell her what had just happened to Jim. To bad for him, Adam beat him to it, his bluntness hitting Trevor like a hammer.

"Those were crater worms. They latch onto a fighter or cruiser or whatever and devour it." He explained, not sugarcoating it at all. Trevor thought he heard Jesse gag before asking her next question.

"S-so, They ate Jim?" She asked, herself hoping it wasn`t true. She didn`t care much for the guy, but seeing someone in your flight die from something so stupid and gruesome at the same time would be enough to bring any green pilot to question their reasons for flying.

"No..." Trevor said slowly. He realized that had they actually eaten Jim, it probably would have been a much less painful death. The crater worms had an incredibly strong anesthetic in their saliva, as well as various acids. Odds were that if Jim had been bitten, it would have been totaly painless, even though it would have left a gaping chunk in him. But unluckily for Jim, the craterworms didn`t eat flesh.

"They wouldn`t have eaten him. There are elements in human and alien flesh that the crater worms don`t like. You oculd be looked in a room with them and not have to worry about a thing." Adam started, sounding a little less harsh then he had before. Apperently the realization that he had witnessed this before and others hadn`t finally struck him. "But that doesn`t change the fact that they ate his flightsuit. He then fell out of the chewed away cockpit."

"He had probably suffocated before he fell though, but...well..yeah..." Trevor said, trailing off, not wishing to explain what had happened to Jim`s lifeless body after it dropped from the fighter. Jesse gagged again, but didn`t speak after this. Trevor felt bad for her, worse then he felt for Jim. She had had to expeirance that for the first time, where Jim had for the last.

"Yeah..pretty bad way to die..." Adam said as he pulled his fighter up and away from the asteroid, Trevor following suit. Jesse did as well shortly after, but going a bit higher then Trevor and Adam, as if the worms were going to sprout wings and fly after her.

"So how do they survive without air?" Jesse asked, and Trevor felt it was a good question, one he didn`t have the answer to, but once again, Adam did.

"No lungs." He replied simply, to which Trevor and Jesse both simply replied 'Oh...' in an understanding way.

"How about the vacuum?" Trevor asked, taking his turn to ask a question.

"No clue." Adam replied with a laugh. "Alright, well, I`m going to see if I can`t find a NR frequency."

"Sounds good, Jesse, you watch out for more of those worms." Trevor said as he began to watch his scanners carefully.

"Ok Lady and Gentalman, we`re approaching their outpost." Trevor reported as he kept a close eye on his radar. He wasn`t going to allow thing to sneak up on them. Worrying about crater worm holes at this point was up to Jesse, while Adam was trying to locate the NR comm channel and see if he couldn`t find out what was going on.

"Sounds good.." Jesse said slowly as she tried to keep her fighter as far away as possible from any and all asteroids. Trevor thought it was somewhat funny, but then again, he didn`t blame her. From what he had learned, the crater worms could propell themselves upwards onto passing by ships and fighters. He didn`t tell her that though, not wanting to scare her more then she already was.

"Gotcha Master 1." Adam replied as he continued to scan the airwaves. He was suddenly surprised when a loud burst of music came through the comm insted of the constant static he had been listening to earlier. "Woah!" He said alloud as the cantina music blared in his ears before he could adjust the volume. For a moment he thought he heard speaking over the cantina horns, but almost dissmissed it.

"Master 1, I`ve got cantina music on the comm..I`ve got an idea..." He said slowly as he began to play around with some filters on his comm unit, trying to filter out some of the louder instruments. For a moment he didn`t think he could hear anything, but straining his ears, he manage dto catch a hint of something.

"Unit....We`ve got....Interce.....Bomb.....Headed....wards the....post." Said a slightly naval voice. Adam couldn`t make it all out over the comm, but did his best to deciphere what he could. The music was still distracting enough to cover out most words, but he quickly relayed what he understood to Trevor.

"Uh, Master One..." He said slowly as they got within the base`s permieter. Nothing was out here, no turrets, but they were now within radar range of the outpost and didn`t have to worry about being sneaky anymore. Occasionaly they could help hide themselves from the enemy radar by dropping down behind an asteroid, but that would only black out their position for a short while before they would have to return to being above the asteroid.

"What is it Adam, find something?" Trevor asked, sounding hopeful. if they could get into an NR comm frequency, they could co-ordinate their evasive manuevers to outwit their opponents without even trying. A breif silence followed which made Trevor feel slightly uneasy, before he dropped from the uneasyness straight into disbelieif.

"They are communicating over pretty loud music. Its hard to filter out all the sounds, but from what I`ve gotten so far..." Adam said, trailing off, almost afraid to tell Trevor. Well, I better tell him, it will help prepair us. Besides, what`s he going to do? Tear my head off for being helpful? Adam thought to himself before finishing his sentance. "Well, They know we`re coming."

"Oh crap..." Trevor said trailing off. Not only was the 'Oh crap.' caused by what Adam had told him, but he was also saying it to what was ahead of him. He knew the outpost would be well defended, having turbolasers and a small hanger and such, but that hadn`t worried him at the start of the mission. He was worried now though, as he looked out upon a pair of large asteroids, each which had a trio of AA missile launchers built onto them. In an Interceptor, missiles would be an issue. In a Bomber, they were a threat. The Bomber`s moved slower than interceptors, and handled less then beautifuly. If Missiles can keep up with interceptors and catch them, what are they going to do to this bomber. I guess its time to let a little bit of Hussar out. He thought to himself with a devilish grin. He had not entered the AA`s range yet, but didn`t plan to. He was going to perform some pretty fancy bombing manuevers that one could only perform in space due to the zero-g environment.

"Here we go people," He started as he pulled up, angling himself 90 degrees from the turrets. "I`m going to throw some bombs at these turrets, but I want the pair of you to rush them and distract them so I can get above them." He ordered.

"Got it boss." Adam replied, forming up next to Jesse who almost seemed mad with her reply.

"Whatever..." She sighed. Why is he sending me into danger like this? I mean, maybe he doesn`t have a thing for me, but this isn`t the way to get rid of a girl you`re uninterested in. She thought to herself angerly as she pushed her throttle forward, entering the AA`s range. The guns swivled on their bases, now staring at the two Interceptors who poised a threat.

She launched a missile early at one of them, catching it offguard and ripping it to shreds. From what it would seem, she was a better pilot when she was mad at something. She then switched over to cannons, opening fire as she ripped past one of the turrets, the cannons blasts ripping up the duracrete it was mounted on, but not doing any damage to the AA itself. It didn`t have time to get a lock and fire at her though, not at the speed she moved past it at.

Adam had done a bit of damage himself, disabling a turret by hitting some of the tubes and hoses that connected the head to the base, allowing it only to swivel, but not to fire. Thats two down... He thought as he watched Jesse`s first target go up in flames. I guess she`s not that bad of a pilot, but from what I`ve heard, Trevor doesn`t base his women on piloting skill alone...He`s really got something for that one girl in Nazgul... He thought to himself as he cruised low over the surface of the asteroid before forming up with Jesse on the other side.

"Alright, ready for the fireworks?" Trevor asked as he cruised slowly above the asteroids, circling above them, waiting for confermation that his two wingmates were out of the way.

"You bet Master 1." Adam said, sounding ready, followed by another frusterated 'whatever' by Jesse.

Geez, I think I might have hurt her feelings...I hope she`ll be alright though, flying angry is only good for a short while, until that anger burns out... He thought to himself as he got his bomber into position above the asteroids which were floating below him. I`ll have to talk to her after the mission, when we get back. If we get back... He thought to himself, before becomign surprised at just how negative he had momentarily become. Dammit! How do girls always manage to do that...

Pushing the thoughts out of his mind, he returned to the task at hand, which was aiming his current bomb at one of the standing AA`s. He had always found that aiming in space was harder, but why that was he didn`t know. He did find that bombing things in space was alot easier, as long as they stayed generaly still. That was because there was less things to worryabout such as bomb trajectory, wind speeds and angles, gravatiy, and other smallfactorys which could get incredibly confusing, enough so that Trevor often just left them alone and bombed on instinct, when he was in a bomber.

"Alright, here she goes..." He said alloud as he dropped the first bomb. Normally he loved the sound of a bomb being released from the bomb bay, but in space it wasn`t as much of a love. In the atmosphere, you could here the 'woosh' echo through the air around you, and the sound of the bomb dropping away from your fighter, and sometimes even hear the explosion as it made ocdntact with it s target. Space was different. There was still a 'woosh' noise, but it was far less grand as it was muffled by the vacuum of space and could only be heard through the thin metal that skinned the fighter.

Another reason space is good though, is that you`re opponents cannot hear you flying towards them. Sadly, He thought, continuing the thought as he watched the bomb drop, Is that they can sneak up on you just as easily. Thats why I love radar. This reminded him to check his radar, which thankfully told him that no one was around aside from his flight. He pulled his fighter around slowly, his engines now just barely on so he could aim more precisly.

The first bomb dropped at an even pace, before connecting with its target dead on. The AA`s durasteel roof paneling was first dented, before the bomb exploded just moments later, tearing into the metal of the AA, sending spurts of flames from fuel and coolent lines. Shrapnel was blown about, although most of it mearly klinked off of the nearby, now 'lone' AA on that asteroid.

"Woah, nice fireworks boss! 3 down, 3 to go." Adam said excitedly over the comm as he and Jesse began their second run. Jesse retained comm silence, but Trevor was too caught up in his targeting to notice this. He had gotten into 'the zone', A zone he had not visited since he and Reaper had been out the day before for a practice battle, and even then, he didn`t get a whole lot of time to stay in the zone. This is absolutly where I belong, this is where I should be. Not in an interceptor, but in a bomber.. He thoguht to himself as he rotated the bomber slightly to allign himself better with his next target.

Adam was laying down fire on the turret that Jesse had been chewing up the duracrete on earlier, this time managing to score some hits on the metal, causing plumes of smoke to shoot out, as well as the occasional jet of flame. He didn`t manage to wreck the turret, but did cause enoguh damage for it to be less of a threat than it normally would have been.

Jesse on the other hand had managed to get off a missile. In the short life of this missile, it had launched from the launch tube on her fighter, made its way through the void of space, and connected with the rocky surface of the asteroid, right next to a turret. This blew a large crater in to the asteroid, as well as uprooting the turret from its base, knocking it down with what normally would have been a deafaning crash. The turret had remian operational though, launching a missile after Jesse who was now evading franticaly, perfmoring a multipule level innaman, followed by a short split-s, which again was followed by her pulling hard back on the control yoke, pulling herself up and tearing past Trevor, who had just aquired his second target, that is, the turret that had launched a missile after Jesse.

The missile that had been following her had decided in its tiny brain that it would insted switch targets, locking on to Trevor, allowing him little time to get everything accomplished that he needed to do. He quickly launched his second bomb while pulling up hard and pushing the throttle forward. This bomb would land off its target, having a spin put on it as it slipped out of the bomb bay. It made contact with the ground next to the turret, but it was enough for it to cause the missile inside the launch tube to detonate, which in turn caused the missiles inside the turret to explode violently, sending shards of shrpnel in every direction at high speeds, which would not slow down until they made contact with something.

A good number of these shards managed to make contact with Adam`s right wing, to which he said sarcasticaly over the comm - "Thanks alot 1, just what I needed, a heavier fighter. Oh well, as long as those things don`t affect anything I should be good." He said before thinking to himself I wonder what the techs will think of this. One will probably walk up to the wing and take a look and wonder what giant porcupine i brushed against., finishing with a laugh.

Trevor was now evading the missile with horrible jerks and twists of his bomber, doing his best to outwit the tiny rocket before it managed to dismember him. The missile was right on his tail though, gaining a few inches every couple of seconds. He ripped out ahead of the missile, bringing himself towards the missile turrets, which he realized was a bad move, even if only two were left. Choosing to do something stupid rather than the logical thing, he dove hard and ended up between two of the turrets, both which launched missiles at the same time. With the distance between the two turrets though, the missiles did not have time to correct their courses and follow Trevor, instead each crashing into the opposite AA turret, causing a chain reaction, just like Trevor`s second bomb.

He was still worried he`d have to deal with a missile right on his tail, but luckily for him, the turret`s explosions had managed to totally destroy the missile, although it was close enough that the ensuing explosion managed to take out his aft shields.

The turrets had now been taken care of, and the flight of three TIEs could now move into the base. Things could get a little difficult though, with only three of them against an outpost conatning probably another 10 fighters as well as a setup of turbolasers. As far as was known, there were no actual AA turrets at the base, but the turbolasers and fighters could give the VE pilots a run for their money.

"Ok everyone, keep your heads up. We don`t want anything stupid to happen." Trevor warned his two remaining flight members, before continuing on. "Do we have anymore stuff over the NR comm, Adam?" Trevor asked as he pulled one of his belts tighter, pulling himself back into the seat and then quickly cracking his knuckles. He might have adapted the habit from Shazam, who`s knuckles could be heard cracking before take-off, and occasionaly during flight. If it was, Trevor wasn`t sure what had prompted him to do it, but he did find that it felt pretty good.

Jesse shifted in her seat as well. She had never really been in a large battle, mostly dogfights, and being outnumbered five to one didn`t sound to good to her. Hopefully they just launch them in groups of 3. We can handle that. Trevor would have to do some speed bombing while dogfighting, but I think he can do it. She thought in almost an admirering tone, before reminding herself she was mad at him. He put me into a mess before, trying to get rid of me. Well...Maybe he wasn`t...he did seem to have everything under control... She continued thinking.

"Nah, not alot..." Adam replied in a somewhat sarcastic tone. "They just know we are coming and have gotten all their pilots to their fighters. That is," He said, pausing before realising the number they were up against, "All 4 of their remaining pilots."

Just 4? I thought there would be waaaay more then that... Trevor thought to himself, loosening the belt he had previously tightened and letting himself sink back into the seat as much as it would let him.

"Alright people, we don`t have that many to go against. With some careful flying, we can come out of this with all three of us." Trevor assured them, a smile spreading across his face when he reviewed his displays. He still had twenty eight of the thiry bombs he had started with, his fuel was over three quarters full, and his shields were at one hundred percent all around. The majority of his flight had taken hardly any hits at all during the flight so far, and Trevor thought that aside from the loss of Adam due to his own stupidity, they were doing pretty well.

Great! They`ve only got one fighter more then us, and we should be able to take those fighters out easily if Trevor helps. she thought to herself, all her anger at him gone. It was true, the rumors that she had a thing for him, although she almost lost it during this flight. Perhaps the only reason she didn`t stay mad at him was because she had a thing for him. But if he really likes that Tokijin girl from Nazgul, what chance have I got? Oh well, maybe him and I are just best off as friends. She thought to herself as she tightened up in formation, the three TIEs entering the main base, met by nothing yet.

"This isn`t good...." Trevor said alloud as the base reminained silent and unmoving, the turrets not even activating as they came into range. He quickly checked his radar and saw nothing, now feeling uneasy. Either they had been tricked, or somehting had gone totaly wrong at this base over the past 5 minutes. "Hey Adam, they still got comm noise?" He asked, not sure of what he wanted for an answer.

"Uh..Nope, it stopped quiet a while ago, about 2 minutes before I gave you that last update. They`ve been dead quiet for at least 10 minutes now." He said, wondering why Trevor wanted to know. In his eyes, it just ment that if they were all dead, they could bomb the base and be out of there soon. It was better then being tricked.

"Uh oh....We need to land, now." Trevor said quickly, steering his fighter towards the hanger bay below. It would be a cramped fit, and they would have to land on the floor because the odds of a NR hanger having TIE claws was unlikly. As he pulled into the bay and set the craft down on the floor, he was greeted by nothing out of the ordinary. A few tools scattered about, a quartet of fighters sitting on the floor, all apperently ready for flight. No people were in sight though, as if they had all cleared out for break time.

Touching down, Trevor took a quick scan to make sure there was air in the hanger before poping his hatch and slowly crawling out, drawing his pistol as he did so. He quickly undid his helmet and dropped it back into his TIE, before dropping down the the wing pylon and then landing on the floor in a cat-like position. He looked around quickly for any signs of movement, but aside from his wingmates, nothing stirred in the hanger.

"Man, this is creepin` me out.." Adam said as he walked over to Trevor, his pistol drawn as well. Jesse made her way over slowly, knocking a bunch of wrenches down from a workbench as she passed it. She jumped and then looked at Trevor and Adam, giving them an appologetic look and shrug. She was off the hook though, no security guards ran around the corner that was just outside the lone hanger door, and no techs came running out from behind their tool chests.

"What do you think is going on?" Jesse asked quietly as she started on her way again, but before either Trevor or Adam could answer, she slipped and screamed. Catching herself quickly, she pulled herself up and looked down to see what she had slipped in.

"What is that stuff?" Trevor asked as he walked over and knelt down next to the puddle she was standing in. The puddle was a good 3 feet across and 2 feet wide, and probably a quarter inch deep.

"Looks like oil or somnething to me." She said as she carefully stepped out of the liquid. Trevor touched the surface with his fingers and brought it up to his nose, giving it a quick sniff before looking up at Jesse.

"Thats not oil...Thats blood."

Jesse let out a little squeel before jumping away from the puddle and looking around the hanger. Upon closer inspection, there was small pools of blood everywhere, and closer to the door, there were drag marks, as if someone had been slid across the floor while bleeding heavily.

"This does not look good at all..." Adam said slowly as he moved closer to the door, inspecting a few small crush marks in the metal. It looked as if someone had balaneced a fighter on a stick and pushed the metal in, the dents being about 2 inches deep. Adam counted 8 in all, all in a circular pattern infront of the door.

"I`m not sure, but i don`t like it...We should probably check this out before bombing the shit outta the place, just incase command wants to know about it." Trevor said as he started towards the door, his pistol held at the ready.

"Don`t you think it`d be easier for us to just bomb it and leave, and not tell command about this?" Jesse ask nervously as she stepped around a puddle of blood, drawing her pistol herself as she kept up with Trevor.

"Nah, we can`t. Its recquired for us to check it out or something..." Adam said, and Trevor wasn`t sure if he was making it up because he wanted to know what was going on, or if it was actually true. Either way, they were going to figure out what was happening.

"Alright, here`s the deal. If we find out whats going on and I end up dead, you two run for it and get out of here and let them know what happened." Trevor explained quickly as they rounded the corner, the blood trailing off and revealing a dull grey floor.

The hallway was devoid of any and all life forms except the three pilots, who were slowly making their way down the hallway, checking rooms as they went.

"This hall is clear, which way now?" Trevor asked as they came to an intersection. they could go left or right. Peaking around the corner for any help in making their decision, Jesse leaned back and confirmed that going left would lead them to whatever they were after. Trevor stepped around the corner and noticed ahead of him was another pool of blood, along with bloody footsteps, and a bunch more 2 inch deep holes, these ones filled partialy with blood. The footsteps ended uprubtly though, although the dents continued on after the end of the footprints.

"This is getting pretty damn weirded up..." Adam said as he examined another footprint, before all three pilots looked back down the hall they had just come down. An odd screeching noise was being made, as well as some screaming and some blaster shots. The screech continued though after the blaster shots had died down. The three looked at eachother before sprinting down the hall, hoping to find out what was going on. As they got close to the corner, they were met by a puddle of blood ozing its way across the floor. Diving around the corner, Trevor was horrified at what he saw.

Running away down the hall was a giant spider, a man`s arm could be seen dangling from out of its pincers at it looked back at Trevor. For a moment he thought he was done, but the monster just kept running down the hall, away from the trio of pilots.

"What the hell was that thing?!" Adam asked as he helped Trevor up. Jesse picked up a blaster rifle which the man had dropped, apperently feeling inadiquatly armed with just her pistol. She wasn`t alone.

"I`ve got no clue, but I`ve got a bad feeling we`ll be seeing that bastered again." Trevor said slowly as he checked back around the corner they had come around, before starting down the hallway the spider had gone down.

"Just where are you going?" Jesse asked as she reached out and grabbed Trevor`s shoulder, stopping him dead in his tracks. He quickly spun around and held up his index finger, pointing at her face.

"I`m going after that thing. If you`ve learned anything today, its that some stuff can live out here in space. If that thing finds its way to a civilized planet and reproduces, I feel bad for them." Trevor said as he turned around. He had suddenly slipped into 'hero mode', somehting he didn`t really like to be in, but didn`t have much choice once he got into it.

"Lets just bomb it and leave." Adam suggested with a shrug, trying to think of the easiest way to get rid of it. Apperently the man`s blaster didn`t do much good, so what good would theirs do. Trevor kept his pace down the hall as he called back his answer.

"It might survive it. We know crater worms can survive bombings, so why not this bitch." He said, suddendly wondering how he planned to kill it. For a moment he thought maybe he would be better off just heading back to his fighter and bombing the base as Adam had suggested, but that just seemed too easy. And if Trevor had learned anything from the horror holo`s he had watched, the easy way was always the way that got people killed. but then again, the guy who plays hero usually dies to...

Trevor ran down the halls after the spider, followed closely by Jesse and Adam, who seemed to be following him only to wrestle his corpse away from the spider and return it for a burial. Finally, the spider entered a doorway. Before Trevor opened the doors, he noted that they were marked 'mess hall'.

"I bet we won`t like what we find in here...." Trevor said to Adam as the doors slid open. Ahead of them was an aracnophobic`s worst nightmare. The entier mess hall had been filled with a silvery grey webbing, and a few bodies dangled from the roof, unmoving, occasionaly a drop of blood falling from them.

"What the f-" Adam started, but Trevor cut him off but putting a finger to his lips and slowly stepping into the room. The floor had been covered, as well as the walls and roof, with the space between filled with webs that prohibited movement greatly.

"Be careful, its damn sticky, and I`m sure we`re going to get jumped soon." Trevor warned as he stepped forward, almost getting tangled up in a couple of threads which had latched onto his arm. Before Adam could reply, another loud screech was let off and the three were rushed by a large hair bowling ball. It ripped past them, and each of them managed to get a shot off into its body, causing it to screech with pain even louder.

"Its hurt, someone got it good!" Adam shouted as the spider tripped and skidded across the floor. Trevor took this as a chance to take cover, diving behind one of the cafeteria tables and taking a few more shots at the downed creature, which was lieing nearly motionless on the floor.

It had started to get up, but Jesse unleashed an entire ammo pack from her blaster rifle into it, nailing one of the legs repeatedly, blowing it off and causing the spider to stumble once again. This time it lay motionless for a moment before twitching rapidly and then coming to a comlete rest. The three pilots stood still for a moment, all expecting it to jump up and rush them again. When it didn`t, Trevor hopped over his barrier and moved up to the spider slowly. When he got close enough, he prodded it with his pistol, the giant body just moving in slighty where he poked it.

He turned and looked back at the two other pilots and gave them a shrug, then turned and kicked the spider as hard as he could. At this, it decided to stop playing dead, spinning around and knocking Trevor down with a leg as thick as a baseball bat straight to the chest.

He was knocked back a good 5 feet before getting tangled up in some webbing. The spider was now approaching him, more pissed off then it was before. Trevor could see the thing`s fangs glistening under the mess hall lights, blood dripping off them from its previous victim.

See, I knew the hero would die, I knew it, I knew it! He thought to himself, closing his eyes and trying to prepair himself to be eaten. The first thing that came to mind was Tokijin, and how she would handle him dieing. If she ever found out.

But the pain he was expecting never came. insted, Adam had jumped up on the back of the spider and crawled up to it`s head, placing his blaster pistol against it. He then pulled the triggar a good 10 or 11 times, the monster stopping where it was. It slowly slumped to the ground, and Adam made sure to jump as hard a she could on the head, crushing it.

He then cut Trevor loose of the threads.

"C`mon, lets get our asses out of here and bomb this thing." He said as he started walking out fo the room. Jesse was quick to follow, and Trevor followed too, after grabbing his blaster pistol.

They made their way back down the hallway, and made it to the hanger. Each person got into their fighter, and Trevor quickly got his helmet on and put his glove son before buckling himself in and activating the fighter. Luckily for him, the wings had been able to withstand the stress put on them by the fighters fusalage, somehting they normally wouldn` tbe use to.

"Alright Master`s, lets get out of here and drop some bombs." Trevor said as he reached to power up his craft. As soon as he flicked the switch, he heard a sound that could haunt the nightmares of people. That ear peircing screech had returned, this time in the form of a spider 25 feet tall. It broke through the wall which had the hanger door in it, sending rubble flying everywhere.

"Shit! We pissed the mother off!" Trevor said as he activated his repulsor lifts, firering a few cannon shots into the beast before quickly rotating his fighter and blasting out of the hanger, followed by Master Two and Three.

"Lets bomb the shit outta it..." Adam suggested, and Trevor couldn`t help but agree, turning on his target computer.

The 25 foot behmoth didn`t leave the hanger, but Trevor could still hear its peircing screaming in his head. He was glad he was finally going to get to bomb something though. He made a series of passes, each time bombing specific sections of the building, making sure to hit the mess hall and the hanger repeatedly.

"Alright, we`re good to go." Trevor said as he looked back on the smoldering base. There was nothing left of it, except heaps of ruin and ash.

"Good, lets get back to base, I need some therapy or something." Adam said jokingly as he flew skillfully past an asteroid that was sailing towards him, turning slightly as he did so. They were careful to avoid the asteroid that had previously been discovered to have crater worms in it, although Trevor made sure to fly high over it and dropp a pair of bombs into it, hoping to help kill off some of thevile creatures.

As they finally reached the cruiser they had been docked at, Trevor let out a sigh of relief. That was almost too easy. Oh well, I never want to see a spider again. He thought to himself after requesting permission to land.

"Permission granted, Mr. Evenson. You and your flight can use claws 3 through 6." The command person told Trevor, sounding a slight bit snobby over the comm, as if he felt he deserved a better job then the one he had been given.

"Alright, thanks command. We won`t be needing for claws though, we lost a rookie. Only 3 of the 4 Masters are returning." He said, sounding quite a bit dissapointed. Losing a member of your flight was bad, esppecialy if it was their virgin mission, and to something that was so stupid. Trevor had learned not to blame himself though, only if he absolutly had to.

"Alright, sorry to hear that, we`ll let the higher-ups know." The voice told him as he entered the hanger and swung his fighter in a tight right hand turn to make it fit in claw 3. He cut all power to the main engines and was now running solely on repulsor lifts, guiding the craft in under the claw perfectly and then raising it until it was locked in by the claw.

He popped the hatch and stepped out of the fighter, carefully taking his helmet off and setting it back in the seat. He threw his gloves down into the fighter too and grabbed the nearest tech by the shoulder.

"Hey, could youmake sure my helmet is carefully put in a box and returned to my quarters?" He asked, the face of the tech remidning him of someone. "Have I seen you before?" Trevor asked, trying to remember where exactly the memory of this face was locked away in his mind.

"Yeah, I served on the Righteous When Nazgul was there. Some of us Techs follow the squadrons, or specific people around so that we can get used to them and their fighters. Its something new the navy is trying. I was assigned to you, my name is Clark." The man said, holding out his hand.

Trevor shook it, replying with, "Nice to meet you Clark, Name`s Trevor, but I gotta get going...I need some sleep." He said as he turned away, and began to walk away. Under his breathe he whispered 'Or therapy'...

As he was leaving the hanger, Jesse caught up to him and walked next to him.

"Hey, I want to appologise.." She started, looking from her feet to his eyes, and then back to her feet quickly. "I`ve been being pretyt pushy lately, and i`m sorry. I think I`m going to leave you a lone..Leave you to that girl of yours in Nazgul." She said, brushing her hair out of her eyes and then looking at him again. She had started to tear up, but hadn`t actually started to cry.

"Thanks...It wasn`t to bad, but it was nice to get to know you Jesse. Hopefully I`ll see you around in the future. Maybe that drink after the debreifing?" He aske,d holding out hishand for her to shake.

"Sure thing." She replied, shaking his hand with a smile and then sprinting off down the hall to her quarters.
