In order for this to work smoothly and all to enjoy the story, there are some rules and instructions all of you need to follow. Your cooperation is appreciated and it will enhance the quality of the story and the overall enjoyment of all.
1. Please use
http://www.freewebs.com/phoenixwing/shatteringfate.htm as a reference for this story. Background information, technical information, details, biographies, and mission updates are posted there. Familiarize yourself with everything there, it will be of immense help to you. This story cannot be completed well if you don't have a grasp of that information.
2. This story is scripted in many ways due to the immense nature of it and due to what we want to accomplish. This mission serves three purposes: fun and enjoyment, enhancing inter and intra squadron coordination, and seeing if navy cooperation with an army force is feasible. As a result, there are certain points at which certain things must happen and Shazam and I will be doing that. In addition, a mission timeline and all details, including surprises, are posted in the reference section. Where at all possible, creativity will rest with the squadrons and not us. There are some exceptions.
A. During the escort, Shazam will post when the Hapan Cruiser and its accompanying forces will enter. This will be followed by a post by me.
B. (Fill in later)
3. Due to the size of this story, it will have someone simply overseeing the story progress and giving battlefield updates. I will be playing this role. There will be frequent in character updates from the army force and a more narrative, descriptive update from the
Coruscant. Please read these thoroughly as they will assist in creating a picture of the battlefield and allow for greater detail.
4. Under NO conditions is anyone aside from Shazam or myself to write about army movements. The NPC army regiment is entirely controlled and scripted. You will assist them but you cannot move their units around. You CAN and are encouraged to interact with them over the radio. You CAN and are encouraged to coordinate ground strikes with them. You CAN and are encouraged to send a mayday to them if you are shot down. You CAN and are encouraged to coordinate knocking out anti-air defences. You can NOT move the people and vehicles around to do this. Your cooperation is appreciated. Please ask if you have any questions.
5. Realism is important. Every squadron is filled with NPC pilots and descriptions are being provided. This is an intense mission with a lot of fire coming from fighters and anti-air defences. As a result, we will take casualties, these NPCs are the casualties (you of course may have yourself shot down if you so desire). Squadron leaders are responsible for the NPCs in their squadron and they are encourage to coordinate destruction with their squadron in order to maximize the realistic effect. Be creative with this and enjoy.
6. Most importantly, enjoy, have fun, and let the creativity flow. Description and character development are highly encouraged and will really add to this story. Aside from the specified restrictions, you are free to act as you see fit within the mission framework. Enjoy everyone!
Thank you.

"The way of war is a way of deception. When able, feign inability; when deploying troops, appear not to be. When near, appear far; when far, appear near. Lure with bait; strike with chaos. If the enemy is full, be prepared. If strong, avoid him. If he is angry, disconcert him. If he is weak, stir him to pride. If he is relaxed, harry him; if his men are harmonious, split them. Attack where he is unprepared; appear where you are unexpected. This is victory in warfare; it cannot be divulged in advance. Victory belongs to the side that scores most in the temple calculations before battle. Most spells victory; least spells defeat; none, surer defeat. I see it in this way, and the outcome is apparent." -- Sun Tzu
"Ultimate excellence lies not in winning every battle but in defeating the enemy without ever fighting." -- Sun Tzu
