Question about equipment

Do I need to buy all the armour and guns and equipment for the army or will i get given it after i pass the training?

You will be given standard equipment based on your squad, but if you'd like to use something that is not standard equipment, then you'd have to buy it through ICS. Oops, thanks Dez.

never mind i just found the possessions link in the first galactic bank.

Edit: ok another question how will having a vehicle or buying more equipment from the shop help me in the game?
