I don't know how well this would work, but here's my idea. It's a kind of VE Newspaper. We could put in it big news (Not like pay day announcements, but like SSG Angels retirement), and troopers who put in outstanding service groundside. That type of thing. Who was injured in combat, who did heroic deeds in combat, and the like. Just something fun to read, and keep others up to date on issue's, because I know everyone doesn't read all the posts on the ComNet. Just a suggestion, but I'd like to know what everyone thinks. -----------------------

We have tried ideas like this before, though each time it came down to there not being really enough going on, and there not being enough people with the commitment to see it through. I think it's a nice idea, though impractical for the club.
Unless it - instead of being a newspaper - becomes military dispatches with a precis of each of the currently running stories.

This could be doable. Either SLs include it in their report and it gets run on a Sunday, or we have someone who wants to do it go through the stories and puts the reports together as an independent job.

Thanks for the input. As for the military dispatch idea... it could very well work. I could do it, but I would need a list of which story's were currently running, and which have completely dropped off the board... -----------------------

We actually did have a newspaper of sorts. It was called the VE Today. Ran for a while. Died, came back, died, came back, died. No one really wants to put in the effort or work to keep it running. I ran it for a while, but it became too much of a burden to run alone. -----------------------

The VE Today was divided into sections: Gaming, Main News, and Acknowledgements - basically. Each division would be headed by one individual in charge of - or overseeing - the work of gathering the needed current information to publish at the end/beginning of every month.
Bear was the old Chief Editor who oversaw pretty much everything. As of late (meaning after Bear and everyone had left), I had taken responsibility in running The VE Today. Unfortunately, my own manpower was overwhelmed by the lack of overall manpower.
There was another portion that I hosted for a while, a seperate gig called The VE Today Show. You can find the first "episode" somewhere in the News History. Shazam currently holds the title of Mr. VE, but I'm not sure if he wants to continue with that.
Everything else pretty much died thereafter.

I didn't like Mr. VE as a talk show host type guy. I thought I could mold him a little different, but I'm thinking not. However, I could make up stories... That's not a problem for me, like made up news from around the VE universe. I could check in on what the Army and Navy are doing and and talk about the effects of this and that and whats going here and there. Hell, that'd be easy. Sign me up! -----------------------

Universal News would probably fit under the VE Today categories, and you would be reporting as the VE Reporter, not Mr. VE. -----------------------

responsiblity, I think, is a big thing, this could easily fall apart if people aren't responsible for their job and actions. and I think, supervision will not be needed, if everyone here is responsible. However to keep things going smoothly and under control, we will need deadlines as to when certain stories will be due, and if you're responsible for that part of the news, and you will not have enough time to do it, then you should either post before hand, or ask someone else to take your place, until you can pick your job again. But of course, Cosmic will be the one that has charge over everything, As for me, I might and might not be able to constantly keep up with this job, that is why I applied with a title of a part time job. -----------------------
