I do not understand the chain of command. I have read the Pilots Handbook and I could not find any refernce to it. If someone were to show me where I could find something written about it it would help. Thank you.

From the main site page, there is a left tool bar. Towards the bottom is the "on-line roster" link. If you check the Naval roster it will list you in your flight (probably training flight at the moment), along with your flight leader. Above flight leader is your squadron leader, above him is wing commander. The Navy CIC is Admiral Japheth, and above him is our illustrious leader, Grand Moff Kaddan. All you have to do is go to the roster and find your officers. -----------------------

If you find the Navy's structure to be complicated, I pity you. It's very simple.
The basic unit is the squadron. Squadrons are divided into 3 flights of 4 pilots.
There are 3 squadrons in a wing. A wing goes on a ship (depending on the size of the ship, it may have more than one wing).
Ships are in fleets. Fleets are in the Navy.

no, no. i meant ranking system, the whole orginization thing i get, i was in a clan that exlusively(at that time) played XvT and XWA, and i cant say i ever understood the rank system then, of course i never even saw it in entirety. -----------------------

Excuse me, but I was under the impression that a Wing was 6 squadrons, making it 72 fighters. At least that's what I had read in several books, including the X-Wing Series by Michael A. Stackpole, as well as plenty of WestEnd Game SWRPG books. please correct me if I'm wrong and give me a source.
Ps. Standard loadout as I recall for an Imperial Class Star Destroyer Mark I was as follows:
1 Advanced Recon Squadron (T/V's)
3 Space Superiority Squadrons (T/ln's or T/I's)
2 Bomber Squadrons (T/B's, or later Scimitar Bombers)

There was, at one point, a plan to make Wings 6 squadrons, however, now that we have less than one squadron of pilots, its sort of irrelevent. -----------------------
