in starting an rpg camapign. Ive got loads of time on my hands for the next month what with summer vacation and all, and those rpg books are just collecting dust sitting in my room so I figure I could design a campaign for us to start on.

cool, we are getting some numbers. I guess this means I get to build a campaign, and make a trip to the book store to get the Core Worlds book. Also, I am not very good at being a GM, Japeth, I remember you know some stuff about it, could you GM? -----------------------

I'd like to make my own, but I'd like to know the general time setting and any limits on character creation before I do.
Ie: are you going to go with the roll 4d6 and take away the lowest one, add them up, then do that 5 more times for stat generation, or are you going to go with a flat number of points for characters to use?
Personally, I perfer using a flat number of points, because then everyones working from the same base. Invariably with the rolling you end up getting some people who are just better than others because they rolled really well and someone else rolled really poorly.
I played in a D&D game (which uses the same game system, basicly) where we all created with 75 points for stats and it worked pretty well (by stats I mean str, dex, con, int, wis, cha).
Anyway, those are my two cents on character creation.
Like I said, I just wanna know the time period and the specific character creation rules for the game before I make the character.

Well I started with dropping the lowest. I was wanting to have a campaign in the time frame about 3990 years before the battle of yavin, and have the campaign be about a team of jedi/troops charged with putting a stop to the efforts of Exar Kun to rebuild the sith.
Thats basically the direction I want it to go in, but if that dosnt work out, then I have a backup plan. Players have the mission of investigating the return of the sith, so it would be about a month after the end of Phantom Menace. -----------------------

This character was made for the game concerning stopping Exar Kun, but could easily be adapted to other situations. I've already got his advancement planned out for several levels, as I wanted to try something, but couldn't do it at level 1 :P
PS I used the format for listing characters shown in the book, I can try to arrange it a bit more like a character sheet if needed. -----------------------
