We may have the option of continuing this game with the d20 system. The characters aboard the shuttle could be swapped with Vast Empire members perhaps on a vacation.
If you any ideas or suggestions for game session plots, feel free to email them (
[email protected]), but remember what era we are playing in.
While the rules may easily be extrapolated to help create a campaign in any Star Wars time frame, the Star Wars Role-Playing Game focuses that expanse into three eras.
The Rise of the Empire era covers the time from the election of Chancellor Palpatine to a few years before Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace which occurs thirty-two years before the events of A New Hope.
The Rebellion era covers the time of the Galactic Civil War, as depicted in the classic Star Wars films, Episodes IV, V, and VI.
Finally, the New Jedi Order era is set twenty-five years after A New Hope. The New Republic has been established, Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Knights are growing stronger, and the Yuuzhan Vong have begun an invasion of the galaxy. This is the time period currently being detailed in the Del Rey novel series.
The Vast Empire RPG is wedged between the prior two eras: the Rebellion era and the New Jedi Order era. In a linear sense, we are somewhere around the time of the Battle of Sluis Van when Grand Admiral Thrawn is at the peak of his power. Remember that before submitting ideas.
Also remember that fantastic ideas such as Vast Empire members bumping into Grand Admiral Thrawn will be considered. We used a similar idea in our previous d6 RPG game. It is no fun running around the Star Wars universe unless you meet some of its more notable characters.

His fate was destined to a foreign strand,
A petty fortress and a "humble" hand;
He left the name at which the world grew pale,
To paint a moral, or adorn a tale.
