The X-wing broke right with a barrel roll. Tyco shoved the rudder all the way over and brought his TIE-Interceptor to bear. A quad burst from the lasers stitched across the X-wings stern but the shields held. A second X-wing open fired peppering the space the TIE-Interceptor had just occupied as Tyco juked it out of the line of fire. The two ships passed within meters as they screamed by each other in a head to head pass. Tyco recovered and brought his ship to bear again on the first X-wing. The X-wing twisted and turned in a frantic attempt to gain an advantage and bring its on guns to bear. I'm not fooled that easily, Tyco thought to himself, as the X-wings shields buckled and failed with another quad burst of laser fire. The next shot burned through the X-wings hull causing a spectacular explosion as the power core ruptured. A glance at the sensor board showed the second X-wing closing from behind. Tyco cut the throttle to one third and spun the TIE-Interceptor up and over as the X-wing shot underneath with its lasers blazing. Matching speed and manuvers with the second X-wing the TIEs' lasers pounded the shields until they failed. With its shields gone the X-wing exploded in a fiery death as lasers stitched across the bare fuselage. With the death of the last X-wing the screens went blank and the controls switched to standby as the simulator reset itself. The simulators' canopy opened and Tyco couldn't help but smile to himself. Soon I will have my turn to prove myself, Tyco thought as he programed a new scenario into the simulator. Maybe I will be good enough to join the elite Viper Squadron. But for now, more practice.....
