(I know we're not done yet with the other one but i won't be here as early as i have tomarrow, and the other one looks almost complete. just post on here when were all done with the other mission. pretty simple, and self explanatory; just launch off and destroy them before they get away.) LoneWolf cheered in joy as the cockpit opened up for another rewarded break. He went to the lounge then took a mug of some hot chocolate, something which he hadn’t done in a long time. Walking placidly back to his quarters he sat in his desk, and read through the next mission profile. "Seems like this could be tricky." Tie fighters were generally weak, however it was a common fact that outnumbering their enemies was the general option to close the individual weakness. "Aegis is still under strength too, its best too assume we’re half a squadron rather a full." LoneWolf tapped a few keys on his private computer, "We’ll finish it our first run through, eyeballs are always an easy kill, especially with fear driving them away. They begin to get sloppy, and more individually desperate, if pursued correctly." LoneWolf put down the finished mug then tapped his R-7 droid, "You think you can help me out this next one?" the droid which LW Jokingly titled: Trash-Can, gave a hyper active "affirmative" beep. "Good Trash-Can, we’ll teach those simulated traitors a lesson or two, OK bud?" The droid beeped back, but LoneWolf was already crashed out on the lounger he had. He simply thought, must of been a harder day than I thought. this next one should be cut and dry though, easy.

The door to the lounge opened with a hiss and in rolled TwinFury's R2 astromech droid, "Fletch the Trashcan". The irate little droid was emitting a barage of shrill beeps and whirs. Twin came rushing in just as Fletch activated his buzz saw and began to attack Lonewolf's R7. "Fletch," shouted Twin. "Stop it, you fool!" "What's wrong with your droid?" asked Lonewolf. "Well, he's rather perturbed that you ripped off his name and gave it to your droid." replied Twin. "You see, I bestowed the name of trashcan upon little Fletch when he was purchased last November and he's not partial to sharing." "Oh." said Lonewolf. "What he actually said, though, was 'It's getting hot in here. So take off all your clothes.'." said Twin. During this quote Kain entered the lounge, fresh from the simulators. The poor pilot was so utterly disturbed by the droid's comment that he turned around and walked right back out.

Rusty was quite delighted to have completed the mission. He met up with Liquid back at their quarters, with the annoying protocol droid following him to assure that Liquid knew what the foul-mouthed wookie was saying. Rusty: “YIPPY F***ING SKIPPY! WE WON!” Liquid: “Watch that language, boy!” Rusty: “I’ve got at least 130 years on you, don’t be callin’ me boy.” Liquid: “Shut up, you overgrown ewok!” Rusty whips out his Ryyk blade, in case anything got ugly. But he soon realized that Liquid had just been joking around, and had squinted at the site of that big sharp blade. Rusty sheathed his Ryyk and examined the mission on his computer. Rusty: ”TIES! TIES! That’s the best they can do? We’re gonna get this the first try, this is simple!” Liquid: “Don’t get over confident, these guys are renegades and have their heart in this to take us out.” Rusty: “Bulls*** ,this will be simple. Nothin’ like pasting some renegades with green!” Rusty ran outta the room, ready to get drunk again, he seemed to fly better that way…He met up with Lone Wolf, who had been getting some hot chocolate, and Rusty quick got himself some Corellian Whiskey and made sure that Lone Wolf got some alcohol in his system before the next mission. Rusty: “Lone Wolf, don’t get that wimpy drink, at least get a beer, this non alcoholic crap you’re drinking is bad for your health!” Lone Wolf just rolled his eyes…

Darkhawk wandered away from the simulators, not quite sure exactly where he was heading. The last mission had really been a breeze; even without reinforcements, they could've easily kep those X-Wings from destroying the Runner. The ex-Training Officer was beginning to wonder if Riel had grown soft in his mission assignments, or if Aegis's pilots were simply that good.   In truth, it was probably neither.   After a few minutes of strolling through the large stale corridors of the Atrus Darkhawk found himself outside of the ship's officer lounge. This was not the typical lounge where pilots congregated in mass to get drunk; no, this was an atypical lounge where the elite of the Navy congregated in mass to get drunk.   The Commodore smiled. Not only was he hoping to find a few of his fellow Lusthawks in the room, but maybe some other old friends would be there as well. Letting out a deep breath, he opened the securidoor and strode into the large room.   The lounge was not big, but it was luxurious in its simplicity. There were only ten booths in the entire room; half were spread out across the room and the others were bunched up in the middle. Where you sat depended on whether or not you wanted to be talked to. Serving droids filled the room, scuttering all over the place in an attempt to keep the officers satisified.   It seemed that Darkhawk had lucked out. JMac and Riel sat in the back, talking. He would leave those two alone for now. Say sat at another table conversing with someone who Darkhawk did not recognize. Possibly a retired officer he had never met, or a ship captain he was not familiar with.   However, the middle tables were brimming with life. Rogue, PJ and Kain had staked out one table. Gravin, Zed and Warmaker sat at another; Bear and Corran had staked out a third.   Damn, he thought to himself. Usually don't see THIS many officers in here at once. He walked over to the Lusthawk table and sat down next to Rogue in the empty seat.   "What's going on, boys?"   PJ looked over and grinned. "Gravin here was just telling us who is going to win this competition."   "Oh, is that right." Darkhawk smiled. He met Kain's reassuring eyes across the table and nodded to his old squadron commander. Darkhawk was sure who would win, too.

I made my way from the sims toward my quarters. I wanted to check my messages and then head to the officers lounge. I ran inot the newbie pilot Rusty, rather akward fellow. He was already drunk and said he was making another beer run now. He eagerly offered me a drink, but I smiled and refused. After I reached my quarters, Seven, my assistant droid, informed me of the lack of messages so I began towards the lounge. After a brisk stroll through the hallways of the Atrus I came upon the officer's lounge. It was packed, which was usual. There were multiple groups of people spread throughout the room, but one in particular attracted my attention. It was the Lusthawk's table. It appeared that Gravin and Kain had made some kind of bet. I hurried made my way to the table and there was a drinking contest ensuing between the two men. Between everydrink, Kain would shout, "Lusthawks!" and then knock back a shot. Gravin would then comeback with, "Viper!". It looked as if the contest had just started and might not continue too much longer. Darkhawk began to take bets. I decided to put my money on the larger of the two, and of course, the Lusthawk.

Darkhawk smiled as sk8guy placed his best. “I don’t even know how this got started, really,” he was telling his old wingmate. “One minute I was talking to Corran about the VE Today and the next minute these two guys were having a drinking contest.”   “Uh-huh,” sk8guy replied. “And you just happen to be taking the bets now, right?”   “Well, uh…” Darkhawk stammered, “… they needed someone with class and savoir faire to handle such an event. You know, ‘skills’.”   “Then why did they put you in charge?”   “Ha ha ha. Shut up, sit down, and hope that Kain wins,” the Commodore replied.   “Whatever.” **************************************************   A few minutes later a pair of medical droids came in to escort Lieutenant Rennok and Lieutenant Gravin to the medical wing for liver treatments. In the end, the contest had ended in a draw; both pilots had stopped has twenty-nine drinks and passed out on the table.   “Do you think they’re going to be all right?” Lonewolf asked. “Gravin didn’t look too good.”   Bear laughed out loud. “Gravin didn’t look good after the first drink, Jace.”   “Neither of them looked too hot to me,” Warmaker replied. “Now I’m down a pilot for the next mission.”   “Hey, me too!” Lonewolf snapped. “Besides, you have more pilots.”   “Bah. Now is the time for Kaph to make a comeback,” Corran interjected. He smiled wide and the other officers just rolled their eyes.   “All right, Darkhawk, give us our money back,” sk8guy said, turning to the older man on his right.   “Uh, no. I don’t think so.”   “What do you mean, ‘no’?” Rogue demanded.   Zed answered for the Commodore. “Darkhawk gets to keep the money.”   “What?!?!” most of the officers around the tables shouted.   “He took the bets, and it’s house rules – if neither opponent wins, the taker keeps the credits,” Zed continued.   “That’s total BS!” sk8guy muttered, slamming his fist on the table. He eyed Darkhawk suspiciously. “Are you sure this wasn’t rigged?”   Darkhawk sat back in his chair and raised his palms outward, in peace. “Hey, now. Would I do a thing like that?”   “Maybe,” Bear responded. Darkhawk just leaned back and smiled, his mind a closed door to even the other Dark Jedi around the table.

Rogue woke up feeling like his head had been stepped on by an AT-AT.  He got an analgesic patch from the draw in his bunk side table. He slapped it on his forehead and laid back down to let it work.  After a few minutes, he sat back up without getting nauseous and with the pain in his head down to tolerable amounts. He then dragged himself to the head attached to his room and took a long shower with the water as hot as he could stand. After finishing his shower, shaving and doing the other things he had to do to make himself presentable, he put on one of his black flight suits, strapped on his blasters and other gear and headed to get something to eat. He got a big breakfast, the opposite of his usual fare, and two cups of coffee, found an empty table, dropped into a chair and starting eating. None of his fellow Aegis squadron members were in the mess hall yet, but not to his surprise. Of himself, PJ, and Kain, Rogue thought he had had the fewest drinks during the competition between Kain and Gravin and he remembered having something like twelve drinks. At least only Kain and Gravin had to be taken to the med bay to have their livers worked over by the 2-1B’s.  Then Rogue remembered the bets DH had taken on the contest and how, since both contestants passed out after 29 drinks, DH kept all the money.  Rogue thought at least, I only 20 credits, this time. He finished off his pancakes, sausage, bacon, and hash browns then went and got two more cups of coffee. He drank them faster then got a fifth cup as he left the mess hall and headed for Aegis’ ready room. Upon arriving near there, he hit the head located just down the corridor from it, then walked into the ready room. He made it to his assigned chair and dropped into it, then looked around the room. No one was in here either. “Oh well,” he thought to himself. He got up and got another cup of coffee from the pot at the back of the ready room, got whatever paperwork was in his box, then dropped back into his chair to sort through the stuff. After getting through about half the paperwork, Rogue looked up as a naval rating came in to the ready room. He went to the duty board behind the duty officer’s desk and loaded a message onto it, then left the room, never even seeming to notice Rogue. The message came up on the board seconds later reading: All Aegis Squadron Pilots Report to the Simulator room at 1000. Rogue checked his watch for the current time; it was only 0830 so he had an hour and a half til he had to be in the sims for the next mission. He then refilled his coffee cup and returned to his chair to finish his paperwork and to wait for one of his squadron mates to show up.

The next morning, Darkhawk found himself in one of the Atrus's many recreational rooms. This room in particular had a huge swimming pool; the pool was accompanied by a few grksbal courts and a large sauna.   Darkhawk was in the pool and he had the entire room to himself. For some reason, there were very few crewmen or pilots who like to take swims at four in the morning. Maybe the water's too cold for them the Commodore thought to himself.   He was just swimming back and forth across the pool, alternating between different strokes. It seemed like it had been years since he had taken a swim; maybe it had. Even if that wasn't the case, the exercise was very relaxing for him. There had been plenty of stress in his life the past year, and it was moments like these that helped him focus during the tough times ahead.   Finishing up with a brisk 1000 meter swim across the pool, he climbed out, dried off, and headed to the Aegis ready room. No one was there yet, however, so he decided to go back to his cabin and take a nap. He had only slept four hours that night; a little more sleep couldn't hurt before having to hit the simulators later on. ----------------------------------------------------------------------   At 0900 Darkhawk enetered the Aegis ready room and found that at least one of his fellow pilots had showed up by then. Of course, Rogue didn't look to be in too good of shape.   The lieutenant was passed out at a table with his head laid out in a pile of paperwork. There was a half-full mug of coffee on the desk; the liquid had gone cold.   "Poor guy," Darkhawk muttered. "I told him he was drinking too much last night, but..." None of them ever listen to me. Darkhawk took the coffee over to a waste bin, desposed of it, then walked back over to Rogue.   Using the Force, the Commodore lifted Rogue's head slightly and then created a bubble of air beneath the lieutenant's head, like a pillow. There. Now he won't wake up with a stiff next. I'm sure he'll feel bad enough from the hangover.   Humming a tune from one of his favorite bands, Darkhawk seated himself nearby and began to look over the mission briefing for Mission Four. It didn't look too hard, but it might get tricky if the Lusthawk weren't 100% ready to go. And, from the look of Rogue, that might be the case.

I awoke from my nice sleep, ready to go and refreshed from the drinking party last night. I hit the refresher and then headed to the Lounge for some breakfast. I got there, and surprised there was no one else in the room. It seemed odd. Usually the placed was bustling with business. I shrugged it off and ordered some bear claws and half a dozen wild weasels. Within a few minutes the serving droid returned and I ate up. After the heartiy breakfast I made my way to the Aegis ready room. There was nobody there so I decided to go check out my stocks. I went to the nearest terminal and looked them up. I had lost mad money and now became depressed. I scrolled through the disappointments then I saw a nice little blinking ad at the bottom of the page. It said, Said depressed from your stocks. Click here to cheer up. I decided to see what it was and clicked. The ad took me to a site filled with naked shaven wookies. They were in all kinds of funny and bizarre positions. It was hailirous. I laughed a good while then closed my connection to the terminal. The ready room was just around the corner, so I returned. Once again the room was empty except for Darkhawk, who seemed hard at work, and Rogue who was passed out and leviating above his desk. I thought that odd, but sat down and began to review the new Aegis orders. The mission didn't seem too hard, but hey, anything can and does happen. I was there about five minutes and Darkhawk still hadn't noticed me. I decided to pull out my toy Airsoft Pistol. I cocked it back silently and aimed for his spine. I pulled the trigger and a tiny plastic BB shot out at the Commodore. He screamed in shock and pain, then turned around to see me sitting there, gun aimed at him.

"Ow!" Darkhawk shouted, slapping at his back. He quickly whirled around in his desk to find sk8guy situated right behind him, holding a pistol. "Why the hell did you have to go and do that?" he shouted as he rubbed his "wound". sk8guy shrugged. "I don't know. I felt like it." He grinned. "Yeah? Well, I feel like doing this." Unbeknownst to sk8guy, Darkhawk had levitated one of the chairs behind him with the Force. sk8guy was not yet powerful enough to feel the added energy; he still thought Darkhawk was concentrating on keeping Rogue's head aloft. Well, he thought that until suddenly a heavy metal desk chair cracked him on the back of the head. A loud "thunk" rang out across the room and sk8guy slumped down in his seat, unconscious for the time being. His pistol clattered to the floor. Darkhawk levitated the small slugthrower to him and placed the gun in his pocket for safekeeping. He was in the middle of replacing the chair when Lonewolf walked in, papers tucked under his arm. He took one glance around the room and then gave Darkhawk a large frown. "Just what is going on in here, Commodore?" Darkhawk grinned sheepishly and shrugged his shoulders. "Snap, Lieutenant, I didn't see nothin'." Lonewolf took one more look at the unconscious sk8guy and shook his head. "Yeah, right. Get over here and look over a section of the mission with me. I could use some advice." "Roger, Commander."

LoneWolf strapped on the familiar restraints of the simulator. The cockpit began to close, sealing darkness within the capsule. The screens all around suddenly flickered to life, giving off their glow. The Aegis pilot picked up the gloves in his lap then pulled them tightly on, they were a snug fit. He then took the tie fighter helmet on the other side of his lap and secured it on scince the simulator would be top-of-the-line, in every way.  It would simulate the G’s, oxygen levels, and practically everything else a real combat would, given a few exceptions. The command stick tracked up to his black grasps as he activated the flight systems, the simulated deck of the Atrus appeared on screen, dim red lights seemed to be the only source of light, scince the craft was supposed to be disabled. In such an unlikely case back up generators would come on line giving only minimal power. It would be up to them to make sure the Imperial ship was in safe hands. LoneWolf played with the switches atop the command stick, which had a Combat Multiview Display, bulging squarely on top the joystick. He made his final adjustments already locking on to the enemy traditional Tie Fighters. "They will feel the wraith of the empire this day!" LoneWolf announced going along with the sim to help get the full effect of battle. Soon all the Aegis members were in their cockpits, even the ones who technically should of not been flying.  LoneWolf looked in front of him as a tie advanced wiggled out of the hangar bay like a drunk bantha. " I got to restrain these boys from drinking before planned missions." In all realism LoneWolf began to feel the fear of loosing again as it seemed the squadron’s march declined to a walk. "Come on Aegis lets kill some traitors for good old Palpatine!"   ----------------------- EFL/ESN Lonewolf/Aegis 2-1/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=JCPA=)(=SCPA=)[SRC][VC:Ebony] CM/DJK LoneWolf/Sith/Eagle Sect/VEDJ Army character: Ares "Strong men don't give hope, or weaken at the knees at the sign of impossiblity; rather they stand up to face it and dominate that obstical."

He pulled his helmet on, feeling a bit weezy from all the drinking he had done last night. That new guy Rusty could handle his alcohol well. Liquid rubbed his head through the Force, merely thinking about rubbing instead of actually rubbing it with his hand. He felt the "cockpit" closing and watched as the screens turned into the familiar controls of a Tie Advanced. He reached for the control stick, placing it in his hands and remembering how good it felt to kill needlessly. A smile formed on his face as he heard Lonewolf over the comm. "Come on Aegis, let's kill some traitors for good old Palpatine!" His new Squadron Commander was enthusiastic, perhaps a bit too much. Liquid tuned into his private com channel and asked what had him so happy. "I'm the leader, shut up and follow me." Lonewolf said, his voice projecting an image of hatred into Liquid's head. "You may be the leader, but i can beat you in pool anyday, sir," he said in a mocking tone. "We'll see about that after we finish this mission boy, now, let's get some rebels in our sites and blast them home to their mommies!" the squadron commander said, as he jammed his throttle to full and blasted out of the hanger of the Atrus.

It wasn’t long that the entire squadron formed up, the scattered formation of nine fighters closed up and began going after the first squad. Surprise was momentarily their’s as each member surprisingly took one down. The remaining three scattered to give cover for the other escapee’s. LoneWolf took several we’ll aimed shots, each however only partially burning the enemy craft. He pulled his nose up just ahead of the flight path and cut it off with a fireball of eyeball debris. It had been a while scince he had taken out any eyeballs. The remaining two pulled in back at him giving as much hell as they could muster. His shields flexed down to hundred fifty nine. He quickly looped behind them to take one out, it flew in a crazed spin and managed to take it’s companion out. LoneWolf grinned, feeling the power of the moment, the shear ability to perform such maneuvers in the vacuum was what gave him every desire to improve. The Tie Advanced whirled around back to lead position, leading the front of death to those who oppose the might of the empire. The crusade engaged another squad this one, however, was prepared, and scrambled. LoneWolf realized that another squad had broken from the flee to engage two on one. LoneWolf danced his craft having picked up a fighter, soon another joined from the other squad. It became clear that the impostors could surpass if they gathered all their strength, the distance grew rapidly adding to the pending tension. LoneWolf tried to break off but found green lasers directing him otherwise. "Man these are a bit more skilled than I thought!" he moved to pick a tie off, only managing to pierce its panel. "team up and clear each other’s back!" a hit splattered against his shields draining power from his comp for a moment, he hit a key targeting a random fighter then noticed something odd, "Hey one of these squads has our old tie fighters!" he quickly recalled the old aegis squadron which was only equipped with modified tie fighters, with shields, and a small boost of speed. The thieves were leading the escape route, for the other squad. "Riel this is an interesting joke."

Darkhawk rolled his TIE Advanced right, slipping between two of the enemy fighters and avoiding the laser fire of another. He quickly pulled back on his flight stick, pushing the front of his ship straight down. Within seconds he had completed the maneuver and was right behind the enemy TIE Fighter that had been chasing him only moments before.   The old Darklighter Slip he thought to himself. Still useful even today.   As he maneuvered around space in that manner, using techniques the younger pilots never would have learned, he blocked out the random chatter of his squadron mates. There was no Aegis Four at the moment, so he didn't have a wingman to take care of. He was all alone out here; well, with the enemy. Just Darkhawk and some "bad" guys. It felt just like old times, back in the Empire.   He slipped in behind a damaged TIE Fighter and finished it off. The Commodore though that sk8guy had gotten in the first hit, but he couldn't be sure - all of the Aegis TIE Advanced looked the same in the simulators.   In the remote corner of his awareness he heard Lonewolf say something and he came back to being half with the others. "Just because they're painted up like Aegis Squadron doesn't mean we can't blast them, One."   "Oh, I know that," Lonewolf replied. As proof he shot down a TIE Fighter that had strayed too close to his laser range. "I just feel sort of bad about it."   "I don't," Zakath replied. "I never had to fly a TIE Fighter."   "You missed out," said Darkhawk, smiling.

I whirled around onto the tail of Akath, letting him destroy the old Aegis TIE fighters. IT brought back memories to see them flying sround, just too bad they weren't being flown with great skill. It almost made me feel sorry. Anyway, Zakath cleared two of the old TIEs no problem, but the two of us had picked up a couple of dancing partners. "Zakath, stay on those fighters. I'm gonna loop around and show these guys the Imperial Tango." I said as I reduced speed and jerked my control stick hard left. One TIE stay behind me while the other tried to stay on Zakath. I painted him green and let loose a careful blast of quad green laser fire. I had to be careful not to hit Zakath by accident. I tapped the Force and made my shots more accurate, sending the fighter into a an orange ball of dust. The TIE behind me slowly pummelled my shields with laser fire. I looked and noticed they were down to 25%. I had to stop getting so distracted. I fixated all my attention on the enemy and began to manuever around on his tail. I stayed with him through his evasive manuevers and jukes. I got a good tone, and fired a quad burst of deadly laser fire into his hull. The ship stayed together, but merely flew straight. I had either taken out the manuevering jets or the pilot. I moved in for the finishing blow, and the TIE exploded into a gaint fireball. ----------------------- EFL/1LT Michael "sk8guy" Rose/Aegis 5/mSSD Artus/DEF/VEN/VE      (=A=)(=MA=)(=JCPA=)(=SCPA=)(=UCPA=)[-BRC-][-VC|E-] DJK sk8guy/Eagle1-7/VEDJ/m/SSD Atrus      "Unleash the power of the Dragon!" - Michael "sk8guy" Rose

(OOC: sk8guy, nice to see you posting! How was the move to VT? Only thing is ... that last post wasn't 200 words. Word count, people.)   Lonewolf took a glance at his radar and was pleased to see that Aegis was having no problem dealing with the TIE Fighters. Mission 4 probably wouldn’t be too difficult after all.   Since becoming Squadron Commander, Lonewolf had had to make a few readjustments to his flying style. Now he had eight other pilots to watch out for, not just the two or three in his flight. He had learned quickly that it was rather difficult to keep track of what everyone in the squadron was saying when people began to chatter away all at the same time. But, that was his job – to listen in, make sure everyone was doing okay. And to give orders, of course, but he tried not to do that unless necessary. He had a good crew – heck, they were the Elite Squadron. The Lusthawks know what they’re doing, he reminded himself. Well, most of them anyway. Zakath and Rusty seemed a bit shaky sometimes; at least his other two “newbies” were actually veterans. The returns of Darkhawk and Kain had really boosted morale in the squadron, as well as add some respect and leadership to the group of pilots. It eased Lonewolf’s mind to know that they were out there, too – two men who he had served with before, two men he knew were pretty damn good at what they did.   “Darkhawk, sk8guy’s picked up a bogey,” Lonewolf said, keeping a close eye on the overall situation. “Could you get over there and lend him a hand?”   “I see how it is,” the Commodore replied. “I don’t have a wingman, so I get to baby-sit everyone else.”   “Right.” Lonewolf paused. “Shut up and go.”   “Yes, sir.” Aegis Three quickly pulled out of an attack run on an enemy eyeball and headed toward sk8guy. “It’s just like old times, skate,” Darkhawk said as he flew in to the fray and blasted the TIE Fighter into pieces.   “Yeah, except I’m Aegis Five now,” the lieutenant replied.   Lonewolf nodded. Yes, Aegis Squadron was definitely in better shape now than it had been in a few months. It’s just too bad we had to lose JMac to gain Darkhawk. He was a good man. “All right, Zakath, let’s go pick up that bogey Darkhawk left behind.”   “I’m right with you, Aegis One.”

I was relieved once Darkhawk got that bogey off my tail. It had sneaked up behind me while I finishing off that last one. I had a hard time shaking him too. Now that I was free of that tail and my wingman thanks to Darkhawk, I took up the pursuit of a group of TIEs. They were pretty far out and nearing closer to the frigate. It was up to me to get them before they could get safely inside. I throttled up and prepared to engage them. I switched to missilesand painted one of the bogeys red. I fired a dual burst and moved on to the next on in line. I got a red tone on him as well and fired. Now I was too close for missiles and switched back to my lasers to finish the other two off. The missiles hit home, out the corner of my eye I saw them, and I smiled. The other two TIEs broke off to engage me, but I quickly corrected my course to stay behind them. A quick quad burst finished one off, leaving only one left. Suddenly me shields began dropping fast and they glowed white from a constant pummeling. What is going on? I thought. I checked my scanners and saw no tails on my craft. Then I realized I must have stumbled into the firing range of the frigate. I was told not to engage, but I was in pursuit of a TIE. I quickly switched to missiles, my last two. I tapped the Force and used my feelings to guide my crosshairs toward the last TIE. I fired two quick single missiles and turned to run back to the rest of Aegis. As I raced away from the firgate, I saw an explosion behind my ship, the missiles had made contact with their targets and I didn't have to tango with that deadly frigate. Now we only had to keep any other from going that far. I smiled as I returned back in the fray of the battle.

Darkhawk noticed that sk8guy was being hammered by the enemy frigate. He was about to warn his friend to pull up but he noticed that sk8guy's TIE Advanced had already done an about face. Seconds later the TIE Fighter he had been pursuing exploded in a dazzling fireball. Darkhawk drew in his breath as sk8guy's starfighter maneuvered in between several turbolaser bolts from the enemy capital ship.     "That was some fancy footwork there, sk8guy," he remarked. "I liked the trick with the missiles."     "Oh, you know - all in a day's work."   Darkhawk, not to be outdone, got an idea. Making sure there were no eyeballs on his tail, he sent power from his lasers to his engines and streaked out toward the enemy frigate. He quickly got a lock on the capital ship and began to cycle through his targets.   Normally he might have used the Force to help guide his missiles toward their targets, but there wasn't much the Force could do to a simulator besides blow it up, or something to that effect.   So, he would have to rely on pure skill. Quickly, he pumped off two advanced missiles at the frigate's warhead launcher. One of them was sure to get through. Then, he began to fire off his remaining missiles in an errant, random pattern, hoping to take out some of the warship's gun batteries.     Lonewolf shouted into the communicator, "Aegis Three, what are you doing? Do not attack that enemy vessel! That is an order!"     Darkhawk frowned. If it was a real battle he might try to pull something, but not here. "Roger, sir. Just thought I'd have some fun." As he pulled back, turbolaser batteries all over the frigate began to disappear as missiles slammed into them.

I checked my scanners and realized there was only about a full squadron of TIEs left. They had almost reached the safety of the frigate; that meant we had to take them out. I also noticed the positions of the Aegis fighters. Most of them were closing in fast. Finally, I checked on the statis of the frigate, it was plotting the course for hyperspace, ready to abandon its fighters. I commed up Lonewolf. "The frigate is preparing for hyperspace. I think it's going to abondon the rest of the fighters." I then throttled up and closed the distance between myself and a sluggish TIE fighter. "Let the frigate go. The will live to tell of the might of the Vast Empire. Try and finish off the fighters before it jumps." Lonewolf responded to all of Aegis. He then proceeded with a battle cry and went  blazing into the fray. I returned his battle cry and went full throttle towards the nearest TIE. I hit it with a quad burst and it exploded. I yelled a victory cheer and got several more in return. After a few minutes of the onslaught, the frigate jumped out the system.  Only three TIEs remained and they instantly surrender once the frigate left. Then Lonewolf said over the comm to the TIE pilots, "The Vast Empire doesn't show mercy." and shot the TIE down. I was shocked that he would do that, and then got the nerve to comm his personal frequency. "Why did you do that? They had already surrendered." He merely laughed and said in reply, "Riel's orders. He said that he wanted all the fighters dealt with and an example made of what happens when you disable the Atrus." Having said that, he then switched frequencies and we headed back toward the Atrus's hanger bays.

(edited for grammar ... I was sleepy)   Darkhawk shook his head as the simulators powered down and opened up. It was good to be out of them, back in normal-land again, even if the lighting and atmosphere were artificial.   He glanced over at Lonewolf, who was seated next to him, and grinned. "Nice job out there, sir, showing no mercy and all. Way to go." Lonewolf smiled back. "Still, I think you should have let me waste that frigate."   Lonewolf laughed. "You really think you could have done it all by yourself?"   "Oh, I know I could have." Darkhawk winked. He seemed so sure of himself, Lonewolf wasn't sure if he was just kidding, full of himself, or actually being truthful. The squadron commander shrugged and got out of his station.     Darkhawk walked over to sk8guy and slapped him on the shoulder. "Nice flying out there, buddy. How about I take you down to the lounge and buy you a drink?"   "I'm game," the lieutenant replied.   "What's that?" Kain called out as he walked over. "Darkhawk's buying us all a round of drinks?"   The Commodore laughed. "I don't think so. You guys let that frigate get away."   "It was orders," Liquid contested, glancing over at Lonewolf.     The squadron commander nodded. "Still, I'm wondering how that frigate disabled the Atrus." They all laughed, having had thought the same thing.   "See?!" Darkhawk protested. "If that frigate could've taken the Atrus, I could've wasted that frigate."   "I'll believe it when I see it," Lonewolf answered.   ----------------------- ADJ:NTO/EFM/COM Darkhawk/Aegis 1-3 /Phoenix Wing/mSSD Atrus/DEF/VEN/VE/(=A=)(=SA=)(=JCPA=)(=SCPA=)(=FCO=)[LoC][BRC][VC:Ebony][KC] DLS/CL/SG Darkhawk/Eagle 2-1/mSSD Atrus/VEDJ/VE/[CR]

I pulled up close to the Dark Lord of the Sith, nudging him mentally to buy us all a round. I knew he would give, he almost always did. I only needed to tempt him a little. "Hey Darkhawk, I bet I can drink more than you!" I said, prodding his mind a little more persistently. "I bet you can't," Darkhawk said, pushing back with a less than friendly nudge. "We'll see if you buy, ok?" Liquid said, shoving back with his mind without even knowing it, and Darkhawk being unprepared, thinking he had won, had taken a knee. I laughed and wondered towards the lounge, telling the bar keep that Darkhawk would be paying for all of Aegis's drinks that night. And boy, can Aegis drink! I played pool with the boys as we all sat lounging around, waiting for the next set of orders to arrive. I began to move over towards Darkhawk, wondering if he could actually still play pool after being a no-fun officer for so long. "Hey, DH, wanna play some pool?" I asked, pushing him with my arm. "Sure, money's up, let's rack it and crack it baby!" DH shouted with an exclamatory remark, acknowledging that he was ready for it.

Darkhawk walked over to the pool table, careful to keep an eye on Liquid. He wasn't about to stand for any trickery now. Liquid, of course, had forgotten that Darkhawk didn't drink alcoholic beverages. So when they had gotten to their bar for the drinking contest, Darkhawk had had water while Liquid knocked himself out with Corellian whiskey. The young warrant officer was completely looped now ... Darkhawk was afraid that Liquid would collapse during the middle of their pool game.     However, the younger pilot seemed very able, holding his own in the pool game even with a dangerously-high blood alcohol level. Still, he would be feeling it in the morning. ***   On the other side of the lounge, Lonewolf, Kain, and Rogue had settled down at a table and had ordered dinner. The chefs hadn't gotten the food prepared quite yet, so the three officers were discussing the Elite Squadron Competition and sipping on their martinis.   "Well, how do you think we're doing?" Kain asked the squadron commander.     "I'm not sure," Lonewolf replied. "But I have the feeling that Viper is beating us."   "Me, too," Rogue commented. "And I'm afraid they are going to win the whole thing, too."   "Great," Kain remarked. "I come back just in time to lose the Elite status that I worked so hard for us to win in the last competition."   "Now, now," Lonewolf broke in, "we're not out of this thing yet. There is still about a week left."     "He's right," said Rogue. "We still have a shot at this thing. We just have to work as hard as we did back in the beginning."     "That's going to be hard to do," Kain replied. "Everyone seems drained and worn out. Well, maybe except for Darkhawk. But that's only because he wasn't here for the first two weeks."     "We just have to find a way to get them back into the groove of things," Lonewolf suggested. "Rogue is right - where there is a will, there's a way." Kain just nodded, wondering what could be done to rally the pilots to a victory.
