well.. here's my guide for makin' webbie
1. Set Your Goal
write one main goal and perhaps one or tw secondary goals fo ur webbie
2. Keep Pages Clean and Clear
a.Viewers need to understand the purpose of the site and how to navigte it. Complex structures are not helping.
b. don't create 5 (or more) diff shapes and colors of buttons just because you can
c. Looped short animation often looks like the animated GIF we all know and hate.....and ignore, avoid it unless you have a good reason for it
3. Don't Overwhelm Viewers with Color
Too many colors create a chaotic impression. Use a max of three colos for the bg, txt and navigational aids (buttons)
4. Use Fewer Than Four Fonts
use 4 fonts (or more) and ppl may start to think that you're designing a ransom note, not a webbie
5. Be Consistent
each page on your webbie should hve the same logo.
text color, fonts, hyperlinks, bg, buttons ect ect should all be consistent to avoid confusion and error
6. KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)
sketch out the map of your site and make sure the lines of navigation are short and simple. Dont use lots of img when one prolly will do the job.
7. Keep it Lean and Fast
Viewers don't like to wait fo page to downlod
keep the graphic images as small as possible and use as few as possible
