Oky-doke.
There has been a lot of talk of the VE Today lately and I've had a chance to read some of Bear's plans on and off of ComNet. Here's what I'm approving:
The rebuilding of the paper to have a serious side as well as humor, interviews, promotions and medals, and things of that sort.
Higher standards for writing. (PLEASE!  )
Cracking down on slacking writers.
"Testing" writers before they write for the paper.
However, the payments will still be on an "as completed" basis. It was said that it would promote activity, but I see it heading the other direction entirely.
Over all, I like what I see and I hope it works. -----------------------

why? the writers may take their half and then leave, I think it is better to have it all on completement of assignment -----------------------

Anyways, backing off the partisan bickering(which I'm actually not involved in this time...), I think it's a good idea. However, my spot will still be the tabloid, and anyone who takes it seriously has some real problems  -----------------------
