[Certification Exam – Advanced Flight Maneuvers]
-Prerequisite -  Pilot a Tie Interceptor against 3 X-wings, 750 Words Minimum-

-Begin Story-

Turning on the flight simulator, the room went from a bright red to a black hue. With helmet and flight suit on, Tzism looked at the panel that lay before him. At that point, there was lights that began to flow through the panel to illuminate the pod that Tzism occupied. He began to press some of the switches with allowed for the computer to recognize him and the area he was in. Suddenly the computer asked some questions to Tzism before the simulator started. “Occupant, designate perimeters, current personnel listing: 1, mission to be followed, awaiting command” Tzism spoke back to the computer, “Coordinate a battle simulation, where I am occupying a Tie Interceptor against three X-wings in a battle situation, make the battle semi hard, do not allow me to get out of the rules of the simulation, if so cancel the program immediately.” Tzism spoke, then watched as the computer took the information then he felt the pod move. There was now illuminated outer space, he could see a virtual battle taking place with fighters chasing one another. His fighter was going slow, but at the same time could show targets on his scanner display. The allies were green dots, whereas the enemy units were red dots. Three dots showed on the display, they were also proceeding slow but in formation.

Tzism saw the moment to gather intelligence on the fighters before he began a strike on them. There were X-wings, rebel faction made. They were equipped with hyper drive capabilities and carried 4 turbo lasers on each fighter, with an astrometric unit equipped above the pilots canopy. They generally had a R2-D2 unit feeding them information about the battle, with the impulse engines in the back supplying them with the speed to get around certain areas. Tzism gathered the information then went in for a steady approach on the fighter units, not wanting to look suspicious, he lowered the humming of the tie interceptor as well as proceeded from above the target zone, to warrant a unknown strike. It was from this point he moved in on the x-wings, the simulated pilots were still unaware of the tie fighter that closed in on them. Grabbing the joystick, then pressing on the trigger, the interceptor shot several bursts of green energy from the firing tips. They traveled through space and thus hit one of the x-wings. Watching, the target x-wing had been blasted into pieces leaving the two x-wings to veer off course and to recourse towards the tie interceptor. Tzism spoke in his mind, saying with a resounding yes, that he was able to take one of the targets down. That only left two more targets to defeat.

The x-wings were now on the approach, swinging around, both had there target reticules on Tzism. Inside his pod, Tzism could here the computer chiming, with the inside of the pod changing colors from black to red, several times. Flying for a bit, there came laser fire from the side of his pod, just brazing his side, he took little damage, just enough to get him flustered. From that point, Tzism grabbing the joystick shifted his fighter to the side allowing for a quick turn around one of the x-wings, but allowing the other to follow suit. At that time, Tzism pressed the trigger letting out more green bursts of energy, phasing the targets shields and lowering his defense, nearby crippling the x-wing. The astrometric droid in the meantime was beginning its repairs, but Tzism had to focus on the other x-wing that was in hot pursuit. The x-wing fire some warning shots at Tzism, he got the warning, then pulling his joystick did a quick turn around for a drop of 180 degrees, leaving the x-wing to loose chase. It was from that point, he aimed his target reticule at the x-wing, grabbing the joystick once more and fired a hail of green laser fire, thus obliterating the x-wing, leaving a haze of dust behind him in the aftermath.

The last x-wing was still conducting repairs, was flying very slow. Tzism took a moment to ponder the situation, either destroy the target or let it get away to gather more reinforcements. He thought it better to destroy the target. Tzism moved in on the x-wing, gripping the joystick again, he put his finger on the switch to fire, then pressed watching the green laser fire pass through space and shoot right into the x-wing. The hostile was destroyed along with the astrometric droid that was inside. The pod that Tzism was inside went from black to red. The computer then replied, “End Simulation!”

-End Story-

Three fighters down is good but it read as if you barely moved your fighter around at all. The action was in two paragraphs, I need more than that and I would like to see more flying and getting into position before you begin to attack. Follow the enemy pilots around, get them to chase you and then spring the trap.

Remember you don't need to kill the fighters to get a pass here. And you'll find I'm much more interested in actually seeing the enemy get away after being beaten than outright death.

Make it a story everyone wants to read, you set the stage in the beginning and describe what was going to happen. But you never gave us the moment of action or intrigue we were waiting for.
