Hi all. "Damn, heth and the Marines sure have been quiet for a while" you might be thinking. Well, that's true. Just as the overall population of players playing SWTOR dropped pretty sharply following the lack of updates, so too did the number of VE members playing the game.
That said, I'm still playing when I can. I'm in my last year of undergrad and don't have a ton of free time, but I usually get a few hours a week to try to put in.
Why do I mention this at all? You might not have heard, but SWTOR is going Free-to-Play here in a few months. That means if you ever played before, you'll be able to pick up and play your old characters, and if you never played, you'd be able to check it out. They're requiring a subscription to access most of the end-game stuff, but it seems that normal leveling will be free all the way to 50.
They've also just executed a set of forced server transfers. If you had characters on the original Vulkar Highway server they're now on Prophecy of the Five (because I had characters on both servers when the transfer was executed, I now have 16 characters on Pot5). If you had characters no the RP server Lord Adraas, they're now on Ebon Hawk. They've also upped the character cap from 8 to 12 per server. All of that is currently live. At a guess F2P is probably coming in mid-late October.
I semi-actively play on both servers (again, see school limitations). If any of you come check it out when F2P arrives, let me know! If you're still playing, let me know that too! I don't think I've seen any other VE folks in... a while, though.
Anyway, that's it for this update. They'll probably continue to be infrequent. I'm afraid that's just the way of things.
