Figured the run-on needs a discussion thread, just like any other.

FYI, everyone, I'm planning another post detailing the landing of Trick's shuttle and the two student-flown TIEs, and then my PC will be aboard and ready to interact with anyone who wants.

First I should start off by stating that this is a good idea and I for one agree with that which it attempts to do.

I should however also point out that I personally would've liked to see this a tad more unrestricted than it currently presents itself. I'm talking here about the OOC segments, the word count limit and the double posting. I can see how the first would be useful to some members and how the middle would encourage people not to post just for the sake of it as well as how the third would prevent some members to possibly abuse this thread in an attempt to quickly increase their post count (no idea why anyone would be interested in that as to my knowledge there are no benefits associated with this anyway) or whatever other form of abuse...

Having actually witnessed this idea in practice on other forums however I can say for a fact that it tends to work better when members no longer feel the burden of posting only in a certain way, but rather they are left alone to their own devices, in the process providing them with an outlet to let off some steam.

Say you're around but are also tired, bored and generally not really in the mood to write something you'd consider awesome as that would take effort and/or time on your part. Rather than continue lurking while browsing the web, watching a movie or playing a game, why not use that halfassed attitude to instead write somewhere where other people would not be as judgmental and where you would be doing that for your own personal sake - for the fun of it in other words.

I already mentioned above that this is simply my own personal belief but to me the need for OOC boxes as well as the need to write at least a certain number of words and afterward count it as well - well that sort of takes some of the fun from it. I would prefer to just hop on the thread, maybe read the latest ones and see if there's any good story going on, possibly ask around if I can join as well, and then likely post either as part of that story or as the fellow starting a brand new one (be it personal or open for others to join in). Now to me that would be fun. That would have a much bigger chance to draw me out of my tired/bored mood and back in the VE atmosphere. The need to provide spoilers for that post as well as reduce the content to a number, further followed by the need to actually explain it all... well you likely see where this is going.

This at least are my 2 cents on the matter. Here's hoping that it helps

Absolutely, this story counts towards career post count!  It's an officially Division tale, available whenever you have time on your hands.

Just a quick attention-getter!  For those new (or returning to) the VE, Heart of the Fleet is our Fleet Run-on story.  Just a place for random (or even multi-part story) posts, dealing with CD and life on board our flagship, the Atrus.

I know we are all busy with Counterpunch, and that should indeed be our focus right now.  However, if you ever feel the need for some CD and you can't put it in the current story, remember that HotF is here for you!

Glad to see posts here.  I'm still convinced this idea is a good one, but it hasn't really been put to the test yet.  HotF is available for anyone and everyone, yes.
