  Hades: The Darkness Within
December 2, 2011 9:36:24 AM    View the profile of Hades
A younger Hades sat on a chair made of durasteel, his arms and legs bound by flexi-cuffs, His appearance was dishevelled and his breath was short, coming in pants. His olive skin was coated in dust, grime and sweat. A man approached the bound youth, a blade in hand.. he said something undiscernable, and brought the blade close to Hades' left eye. It was obvious he was threatening the youth. Instead of cowering, Hades spat in the man's face. The man snarled and drew the blade slowly from the left brow of the youth, round his eye, down to his left cheekbone.. Hades screamed with the pain,  struggling against his cuffs....

Hades woke clutching his left eye, or thereabouts. The sheets were drenched in sweat, and his scar was throbbing. This was the third night he'd had the nightmare. But it wasn't a nightmare, it was a recollection. Hades sighed, lifting his legs off his bed to place them over the side, resting his elbows on his knees and rubbing his damp face with his hands. He glanced at the chrono - it was almost the middle of the night.

Again, Hades sighed, thinking back to his dream. The man he recognised - his name was Lok and he had lead one of the most powerful criminal gangs of Nar Shaddaa. His name was Lok, and he had been the one to give Hades his scar. He had caused Hades pain.. What am I thinking? Hades shook his head, ridding the thought from his mind. He did not need such things right now. It was bad enough that he had not succeeded in today's simulation, he needed all the focus, the skill he could muster if he were to graduate with distinction, as per his dreams..

Hades frowned at himself, feeling a cold breeze flicker through his room. He suddenly felt very small in a very big galaxy. He was not used to feeling this way, and he did not like it. He would have to get used to it.. insubordination would ensure not only his failure but undoubtedly his expulsion from the Imperial Navy. Now THAT was something he could not handle.  He would graduate - with or without distinction.. but he would serve the Imperial Navy regardless.

How was he sure? He just.. knew.

OOC:
I was unable to do a wordcount at this time, but this is just a flashback to an event in Hades' past, getting to know him a little better.
