With the release of "Star Wars: The Old Republic" game, the Vast Empire will be opening up a new division for those that will be playing the game. This will help keep all the SWTOR gamers in one organization for better coordination against the rebel alliance.
And with that, we're going to need a name for the division.
Post up your ideas for the new division name. The person whose name we pick for the division will get 10,000,000 ICs for the idea. Supreme Moff Kadann, Dark Lord

This would be a division of the Vast Empire. Look at the current divisions we've got in place for inspiration. We've got an Army. We've got a Navy. We've got a Dark Jedi Order and an Engineering Corps (or at least, I think we still have an Engineering Corps. In any event, we certainly used to have one).
The proposed division would be exclusively for playing TOR, and will have a dedicated name. The question then becomes, should it be some sort of paramilitary style name (marines or something), or should it have a name that sets it apart a bit, like the DJO or Engineering Corps does?
I hope that helps brainstorm some names. Personally, I'm terrible at naming things, so unless I get some sort of weird inspiration, I won't be submitting much. :P Duke Japheth Cappadocious, Krath Scholar

I'm going to suggest The Sith Dominion. Sith is obvious because we are going to be on the Sith side of the The Old Republic, but I chose the word Dominion because its like Empire (as in Vast Empire) but smaller, so a subsidiary to an Empire. I like Imperial Marines, or just Marines if we want to match styles with the Army and Navy. It effectively combines the fact that TOR will allow both ground and space combat, as well as indirectly noting that the new division will bridge the gap between Army and Navy, containing members of both.

I think Imperial Legion is bit too simple, it could be anything. I'd have to say Marines, or maybe Sith Marines. Remember, odds are we will get guild members who are not already members of the Vast Empire. Whatever we pick will have to stand out as in some way The Old Republic related or it may confuse those not already familiar with our site. Well, it depends upon size and scope. Look at what happened to the FES's Black Sword Navy. They adopted Galaxies as their game and recruitment was so successful that they eventually had many, many guilds across several servers. I hadn't thought of that. It's a good point and gives more weight to the Division-style name, in my opinion. Even if we do end up with several guilds, something along the lines of the Marines would still cover them all. Marines could also match the Army and Navy in official names and acronyms as well: VEA, VEN, VEM. Vast Empire Marines.

I don't know if it's just the repetition, but I'm warming to "Marines." I would like to second Drac's notion of highlighting special warfare, though... Not sure how to get that across as succinctly as "Marines," but I'd prefer it, I think (in the U.S., the Marines are technically part of the Department of the Navy, so I can't help but see a new Division with that name as somehow more Navy than Army). Perhaps, "Vast Empire's Guards" division? Guards denotes an elite, special unit... Thoughts? I know it's too late to change now, but that's always bugged me: Vast Empire Army/Navy/whatever as opposed to Vast Imperial Army/Navy/whatever. Generally that's how we talk about it in-story, but still, the acronyms require creating insertion of apostrophes, as in: "Vast Empire's Army/Navy/whatever." Sorry to hijack the thread. Um... You're not the only one that's bothered. Look at the names of the squadrons in the Navy, I made them the "xth Imperial Fighter/Bomber/Whatever Squadron" because that's just how the word Empire changes when used as that part of speech. Properly they should be things like Vast Imperial Navy, but then the acronyms start to lose name-recognition with the Vast Empre's base abbreviation.
