  Fyston: Sneaky. Very Sneaky

The Zabrak had just closed his eyes and allowed his body to slip into the comforts of sleep when he heard a faint noise coming from his bag. Figuring that it was a simple alarm denoting some unimportant event, he closed his eyes once more and began drifting off into sleep. His arms flailed as he tried to catch himself from a fall that was only in his mind. Fyston inhaled slowly through his nostrils and exhaled through pursed lips. He tried to calm himself before laying back down and the first few bright images had just formed before him before being awoken by a quick shake.

"Hello? Did you not get the message?"

"Ergh, what message?"

"The one we sent you to your 'pad. You're the lucky next contestant to go on this mission."

"Tell me what happened to the last guy even though I know it wasn't good."

"They sent back his body. In horrible shape, I might add."

"Get on with it, brief me already."

"Well, since he had the last uniform in your size, you won't have one of their uniforms. You will, however, be using an independent Barloz freighter that's not registered to either side. You can choose where to land, but the further from the base you land you have to remember something: The further the safer, but you'll have a longer trip back after exfiltrating."

"What am I supposed to be getting, then?"

"We think there's an offensive coming up in the future and we need their plans. Don't think they'll be lying around though. The last guy got as far as their admin office before looking around and receiving a stun round to the back of the head."

"This should be fun."

A few hours after the initial briefing, Fyston had jumped into Hyperspace and came back out again near the targeted planet. It was one of the closer planets to the Vast Imperial controlled systems, and Fyston knew that it would be more heavily defended. He opened a channel requesting permission to land on the surface to deliver supplies that were in his hold. It was only seconds before he received confirmation and began his descent.

Worst case scenario is I end up like that guy or get interrogated. Best case is I get out of here with the data.

Time had slipped his mind again and Fyston jolted himself back to reality just before the landing gear touched gently into the ground, causing the ship's hydraulics and mechanisms to hiss against the movement. He checked his armament, which was concealed beneath the freighter pilot outfit that he was given. His d'skar dagger was concealed in a hidden pocket on his right leg that was padded to prevent the shape of the dagger from alerting security. His FSK-7 combat knife, on the other hand, was stashed under his left foot in case he was captured or otherwise unarmed. Although he felt safe in his choice of landing in the forests, he didn't know if he could find his way back in the dark if he needed a fast exfiltration.

It was another half hour before Fyston could make out a pair of soldiers guarding what must have been a tunnel entrance to something important. One of the guards, a Twi'lek, stood taller than Fyston could hope to be and had a unique rank patch that Fyston didn't see on the other guard, who was a Zabrak as well. The enemy Zabrak was slightly shorter than Fyston and had loose fitting armor that denoted his scrawny size. Fyston threw his dagger at a large stone a few meters away and struggled to hide a victorious smile when a spark flew into the air and a metallic clang was heard.

"Hey...go....it.....genius."

Fyston hoped that the Zabrak came to investigate and was shocked by his luck. The Zabrak walked right past the tree that Fyston had hidden inside and was easy prey as Fyston silently moved towards him. Fyston's hand slipped over his foe's mouth as he slung his arm around the soldier's neck. He tightened his grip and felt the Zabrak try to bite and claw at him. It was only a matter of seconds, however, before the soldier went limp in Fyston's arms. Fyston laid him down to the ground and snapped his neck before removing the armor and equipment from the corpse. The soldier's armor was tight, though only slightly. Fyston slipped the freighter pilot's clothing onto the corpse and retrieved the A295 that the soldier wear.

"Vex, everything alright?!"

"YEAH! Stupid animals!"

"Well hurry back!"

Fyston walked out of the forest and began examining his surroundings casually. When he returned to the post of the fallen Zabrak, Fyston glanced down into the tunnel entrance. He looked back at the Twi'lek and cleared his throat before beginning to speak.

"Hey, I'm gonna see if me and someone else can switch until the end of the shift. I'm a little worried about my family and wanted to-"

"Go ahead, I can handle this until the end of the shift. Tell 'em I said 'hi.'"

Fyston nodded and retreated down into the tunnel. Stunned by what he saw, he noted stark white corridors that were clean enough to eat off of. He casually downloaded some schematics while acting like he was placing a call when he was approached by a human.

"Placing a call? It doesn't take as long as the officer's private console. He let me use it a few days ago, maybe he'll let you."

"Hey, thanks!"

Fyston hurried along, turning left and almost running down the abandoned hallway. He turned right and then left soon after and noted what appeared to be a number of rooms. He consulted the schematics and continued down the corridor until he came to a room that had a sign outside of it denoting the officer's name. He knocked three times before receiving a response telling him to enter.

"Uhh, sir. Sorry for intruding but I wanted to call my family."

"Perfectly alright, son, just use the console behind me."

Fyston noted a disheveled bed to the far right of the room as he approached the console that the officer had indicated. He began tinkering with the console before looking over his shoulder. He saw a small datachip at the precipice of the officer's pocket and turned around slowly. He casually slipped his hand into his belt and withdrew the small dagger. He covered the human officer's mouth with his hand and stabbed him once. The blade went straight through the soft spot under his chin and severed his spinal cord from his brain stem with relative ease. Fyston took the datachip from the officer's pocket, along with the datapad sitting in an open desk drawer, and dragged the dead officer over to his bunk. Fyston covered him up with the blanket and dimmed the lights just before activating the locks and the do-not-disturb sign. Fyston was still clean after the encounter due to his position behind the officer but scrubbed his hands and the knife multiple times to ensure that they were clean.

It was another ten minutes before Fyston had reached the tunnel that he had entered from and nodded politely at the passing soldier as he ran along the hallway. Fyston made his way up the stairs as fast as he could and was back outside.

"How did the call go?"

"It went pretty good. Hey, I have to take a leak."

Just as Fyston began trotting off into the dark woods, the alarm began going off. He turned and noticed the Twi'lek looking down into the tunnel entrance. He shouldered his stolen A295 and fired twice at the back of the soldier. One shot went wild, but the second slammed into the left side of his head, causing him to stumble and fall backwards. Fyston shrugged before dropping his weapon and running into the dark forests.

It took him much longer to find his ship the second time around, taking nearly an hour of pure adrenaline. Fyston hastily started up the ship and launched himself into the air. A number of blaster bolts impacted his shields from a number of New Republic soldiers but Fyston was far out of range by the time they adjusted their lead. The Barloz freighter was in Hyperspace to the rendezvous point before the fighters were scrambled and Fyston felt proud of himself.

Another few hours in Hyperspace and Fyston was back in friendly territory. He docked with the Halcyon Warrior and tossed the information gently into the hands of the man who briefed him. Following the debriefing and his dismissal, Fyston entered the nearest refreshers to shower and get cleaned up just in time for a healthy meal in the mess hall before a lengthy nap.

OOC:
WC is 1,475 words. Not too good with the conclusion there, in my opinion, but it's ready for perusal and I'm looking forward to comments.

You pass, Fyston, but yes, the conclusion felt a bit rushed.  In general, you could afford more details, and in particular, the more we know about how your character feels about things, the more we'll relate to him.  As it is, the post was just sort of: he did this, then this, then this, without much of a sense of how he felt about any of it.  Last note: make it clear in your OOC comments which skill/cert you're trying to qualify for, even if you reference the wiki page for it in your post's title.
