  You Again? (Hav/Jae)

"Hurry up Hav!" One of the deckhands from the Charlotte yelled so loud his voice cracked in the last syllable.

Havock ignored him, her eyes were glued to one of the many small cantinas near the spaceport on Eyesore. She could have sworn she just saw a very familiar figure darting into the rickety door several minutes before. The large portion of the captains had already taken off for where ever it was they were all going. Havock had also missed the briefing that had been given quickly in the hanger that morning.

"Dammit Havock I'm going on board, you aren't there I doubt we will miss you."

She turned to glare back at the ship. "Pfft, whatever," she muttered.

Making a decision that was sure to get her into trouble, she sprinted towards the cantina. The plan was to just poke her head in and satisfy her curiosity then make a mad dash to the ship before she got herself left behind. She had only been apart of Osk for a short period of time. After Aeos and Jaenna joined the pirate group she needed to understand what was going on with this place. She had seen Aeos since being on the asteroid but Jaenna continued to escape her. Unless the other woman happened to be the same person she saw ducking into the cantina.

The doors opened with a creak to reveal a dusty mostly wooden decor. The clientèle was mostly old men, some of them not even conscious any more slouched over their burbons.

One figure made every hair on Havock's body stand on end. She looked at the slightly older woman hunched slightly over a small glass of brown liquid. Her hair was still black but some of the auburn roots could be seen in the light coming in from above. Havock tentatively approached the bar and leaned on her hand.

"Hi."

There was no response. She turned and ordered a whiskey from the bar tender that gave her a strange look but poured the drink and accepted the credits. Havock tried to twist her head enough to make contact with the blue eyes half obscured by unruly hair.

"Come on Jae, it's me."

"What are you doing here?" The words were muttered in more of a growl than a tone.

Havock sighed and a noise just outside the doors told her that she had officially missed her ride. "Looks like I'm going to need to find a pretty lady with a ship. You interested?"

Lost in her thoughts, silence her only friend in this time of turmoil, the woman more or less ignored the wild banter and drunken (in another term: horrible) humor being thrown about. This cantina, the Silver Tongue, had been her only friend for the weeks past. The only place she could come to to lose herself in her thoughts, in her mind. Delusional she may be, thinking that being in a loud cantina would help her think, she enjoyed it. Being drunk or some other form of inebriated always helped her thought process, even when surrounded by the crazies of Eyesore.

But it was a voice that broke through her supposed-to-be-impenetrable wall that brought her back to reality. "Come on Jae it's me." That phrase alone made the increasingly violent woman want to throw a punch towards her... what were they anyways? Though she kept her left hand wrapped gingerly, almost protectively, around her small glass of whiskey.

"Wha' are ya doin' here?" Came the growl that rumbled deep in Jae's throat, her normal, already rough alto tone failing to come out any where close to happy. Jae kept her eyes on her drink, which was half empty... or half full. It didn't matter to her either way, being one to never really play on either side of optimism or pessimism. The glass itself looked appetizing, the disgruntled and already quite drunk woman actually thinking of ingesting the glass. 'It'd feel better than dealing with this bullshit.' It was a terrible thought, yes, but the woman had been through much. Maybe too much. Her brain was slowly deteriorating with the drug use, the drinking and the overall need to kill.

Having been away from the army for so long had left the woman blood thirsty, ready to jump at the first opportunity of death being dealt from either her pistol, her blades or her bare hands. The blood lust had even begun to scare her a tad bit; another reason for her more or less constantly drunken or high state of being.

"Looks like I'm going to need to find a pretty lady with a ship. You interested?"

"...Feh." The snort was loud, obvious and spit riddled. She raised her glass to her lips, enjoying the feeling of the burning liquid as she took a large gulp, finishing the glass. Not a moment after she set it back down on the bar was it refilled. "Thanks, Jeeeeeves." The slur was also obvious, as was the nickname.

The bartender simply smiled and rolled his shoulders, quite used to the shenanigans of the ex Senior Sergeant by now.

"Ya dun nee' me, Hav." A short 45 degree turn and she face Havock, lifted her left hand and poked the other woman on the nose. Despite the playful drunken antics, the look that was plastered all over the blue eye'd woman was nothing short of threatening.

This was life for the woman now. A drunken Pirate with no where to go.

Havock grabbed Jaenna's drunken finger and inched closer to her face. "Of course I need you. You may need a shower more than you need me but that's beside the point." She looked at the bartender. "Jeeves huh? Where's her ship parked?"

"Umm I don't think she would be very happy with me..."

Havock slammed her fist onto the bar causing both nearby glasses to hop and a number of half awake patrons to growl. Jaenna giggled and abruptly ended her drunken glee with a hiccup. "Hush Ha'v, I...fin."

"Lady even if you find her ship she has the thing encrypted with a code...."

"I know! Now where is it!"

Jaenna attempted to sit back on her barstool and failed, falling unceremoniously to the wooden floor and immediately began snoring.

Havock wanted to groan, she wanted to be pissed off at the woman she cared about acting like an idiot in public. She thought about yelling at the now passed out form of Jaenna at her feet, but she couldn't. All she could do was sadly stand there, trying not to let the pain of seeing the person she loved in such a state incapacitate her.

She swallowed hard and glared at a drunk man who started to approach the dark haired woman on the floor on a dare from some of his buddies, the glare was enough to convince him to retreat, smartest thing he did that evening. She half turned so she could see Jeeves in her perepheral vision and whispered her voice as useless as she felt, "where is the ship?"

"Two docks down, she likes to have enough room to lose any bastards that try to follow her home when she actually goes. Slip 53-B."

"Thank you." Havock knelt down and lifted the inert form and carried her back to her home for now.

The ship was so familiar it was hard for her not to just stop and stare. It felt like so much had happened since the last time she set foot upon it. The code was easy, Jaenna always used the same code, or at least the same three codes, but this one was just like their condo. The door opened and Havock nodded to a noisy astromec droid that beeped a greeting then wheeled over to disable some fancy security feature Jae had put in she had no doubt.

Havock dropped Jae into her sleeping quarters and left to make some tea or something to help the bone crushing hang over the girl would have when she woke up. They had a lot of talking to do, not to mention a fleet of ships to catch up to.

It was a blurr. The moving, the walking, the half being carried onto her own ship which she barely even recognized through her half-closed and lazy eyes. It happened so quickly, the woman could barely protest, nay- she didn't protest being put in her sleeping quarters and laid down on her bed. For minutes, that seemed to drag on into hours, she lay awake, staring at her ceiling through those lazy eye lids, contemplating whether or not she should even attempt the crazy task of sitting up and once again becoming coherent to the rest of the world. But no, instead she finally allowed her eyes to close the rest of way, her chest only rising every so often, her breathing slowed to almost a stop.

Slowly, the woman drifted off into the sleep that her body had been wanting so desperately.

'Find her.'

I'm trying...

'Find her and make her pay.'

She will pay.

'She took something from you.'

...

'Find her. Kill her. Make her paaaayyy.'

The darkness swirled about her eyes, lifting slowly as her conscious mind was coming back and touching ground once more. With a shudder, she rose quickly, with a start, the darkness dissipating into her mind. Jae sat there, hunched over herself, gripping her forehead with a hand as her skin glistened in a cold sweat. The breath leaving her lungs was labored, shallow, quickened by the shivers that struck her body. It took minutes for the woman to calm herself down, to stop herself from going into yet another panic attack. Her hand remained on her forehead, gripping tightly, her other hand gripped the sheets of her bed, twisting the light material around her fingers.

"Frack." The single word fell from her lips as finally her breathing calmed. The shivering came to a slow stop as she relaxed her arms, bringing them to her sides once more.

"Have another dream about your mom?"

The voice didn't startle the woman, instead Jae calmly looked towards the doorway of her sleeping quarters. There, leaning against the frame of the opened sliding doors was Havock. Jae quirked a brow, looking at the other woman with a questioning gaze. "What do you think?"

Havock only chuckled and shifted her position against the frame. "Hey now. A hang over is no reason for an attitude."

"Feh." The attitude was obvious, just as Havock had stated a moment before. The look that was plastered on Jae's face was one of annoyance, regret and fear, and yet with a simple shake of her - as if she were trying to rid flies from buzzing about her head - her normal stoic expression was replaced. Jae stood and pulled on her jacket over the simple tunic she had been wearing. Quickly, she fastened a leather belt to better hold her pants up, and sheathed in the back of it was a dagger.

Havock's lips twitched with question as she saw this for only a split second. "Packing protection all the time now?"

"I'm a spice dealer. It's kinda needed." The response was cold, quick and quiet from Jae as she moved past Havock and towards the cockpit. "Where are we going?"

OOC:
Sorry it sucks. I forgot what we had said we'd do with this xD I'm also a little hung over. Haha.

Havock plopped into the co-pilot chair and silently handed Jaenna some tea, which she sneered but accepted. Her eyes watched the other woman work her hands across the controls. A sudden awareness hit the company commander. "Jaenna...where are you going? The Charlotte and everyone else is in a completely opposite direction."

Jaenna sipped the tea, drinking the lukewarm beverage down in one gulp. She shook her head with a smirk forming across her lips. "Got some business first."

"No, dammit Jae. We need to catch up, these are not people you screw with."

"Pfft." Jaenna waved her hand dismissively. "When did you get so uptight? Relax Havvie. Anyways you're the one that insisted on following me around. I mean you're not my babysitter, you could have left whenever."

Havock stared at her for a long time, she lost track of how long. She let her gaze turn to the viewport next to her. Small beads of condensation had formed on the inside of the transperisteel allowing her to trace lines with her finger. She had to wonder if Jaenna was right, maybe she was crazy for continuing to follow the woman who clearly was able to handle herself on her own. It was like a magnetic pull with her, something that kept yanking her back no matter who far she tried to run. Still, she couldn't help but feel that no matter what Jaenna said she did actually need Havock or someone like her to balance her out.

"I'll leave when I want to, and right now I don't want to." She turned back to a pair of tired blue eyes and a raised eyebrow. "So, where are we going?"

------

They landed on Nabnelly in the middle of some kind of festival. The streets were lined with parade goers and floats covered in decorations moved slowly down the streets littering the ground with confetti. The two women blended in with the crowd making its way to and from the main event.

"What's the occasion?" Havock kept her hands in her jacket pockets as she walked next to Jaenna. The temperature was cool, as if the city was out of winter but not quite yet to spring.

Jaenna lit a cig and took a long drag before answering. "Some annual festival, surviving the long hard winter, hell if I know. I stay away from the family friendly parts of the city."

"Great. So where are we going anyways?"

Jaenna just smiled and picked up her pace.
